  1. OU Cores in the BW2 Metagame

What makes this core so effective now is the recent ban of Landorus-I, who was infamous for giving DragMag teams a hard time. However with Lando gone now the only thing that is stopping this core from utterly breaking the OU metagame in half is Keldeo, who has a good chance to be banned next...
  2. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

The broken part about Kyu-B is not that it guarantees at least a kill per match, it's that it takes no skill to do so. If your opponent has Politoed, Starmie, Celebi, Hippowdown, Gliscor or one of the many, many pokemon that can't even scratch Kyu-B, you got at least a guaranteed kill right from...
  3. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

With that line of logic any physical attacker is a liability for weatherless teams. At least Kyu-B's water resistance actually discourages the opponent from mindlessly spamming Scald - you certainly can't say the same for the likes of Terrakion. You know what else weatherless teams need? Being...
  4. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

Did you miss the part where Kyu-B has water, electric and grass resistances and can switch with impunity against the likes of Politoed, Jolteon, Starmie and Celebi? It has to be wary of random Scald burns, but so does everything without a water immunity because Scald is a stupidly OP move. Even...
  5. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

Anyone else finds Jellicent to be a complete bitch to spin against lately? As gimmicky as it sounds, I've been considering using Ring Target + Trick Starmie just for that.
  6. Gen 5 The OU Viability Ranking thread

I'm not entirely sure about Garchomp being S-rank material because of that set alone - after all it's stopped cold (no pun intended) by Ice Shard Mamoswine, walled by Skarmory and I'm pretty sure it can be revenge killed by Keldeo in the rain.
  7. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

Actually, I was one of the very few people who were dead set against allowing Kyu-B in OU because of its mixed attacking set and its ability to 2HKO (at worst) everything. Unfortunatey that test took place when Genesect and Tornadus-T were still allowed in OU so most people didn't bother...
  8. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

The SubShuffler set is like TormenTran from Gen 4 - it can potentially humiliate the opponent, but it's not something you would just slap onto any team. That set works best with Hail and/or Toxic Spikes on the field, which unfortunately aren't easy to keep up in BW2 without dedicated team support.
  9. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

I wouldn't say that Kyu-B's mixed set heavily prediction reliant, in fact what makes it so good is the incredibly safe moves at its disposal. Earth Power, for example, when combined with Teravolt is a terrifingly spammable attack from Kyu-B, as nobody in their right mind would even think to send...
  10. Kyurem-B Discussion: Is it Broken?

Kyurem-B's shallow movepool is not a valid argument against its usefulness. It's not like Wobbuffet who can only run two viable sets (one of which being just a variation of its only other set): Kyu-B can run at least 6 non-gimmicky sets (Choice Band, Choice Scarf, Sub+3 attacks, physically based...
  11. Gen 5 The OU Viability Ranking thread

As I said, if you're already running Volcarona as your special sweeper of choice in a sun team, dont assume that Venusaur is automatically the best Chlorophyll sweeper to put in that team. Volc already has the special side and fire attacks covered, so wht exactly is Venusaur bringing to the...
  12. The Ubers Viability Ranking Thread (Now Taking Write-Ups)

Kyu-W is A+ rank material no matter how hyped it was. Specially defensive Kyogre is still 2HKO'd by Specs Draco Meteor and the very fact the king of ubers is forced to sacrifice its attacking power to barely check one pomemon should give you an idea of how centralizing it is. Speaking of...
  13. Gen 5 The OU Viability Ranking thread

I wouldn't call Venusaur "the face of sun teams" considered that almost 1/3 of them don't run it, even in the 1850 stats. Venusaur has a nasty case of 4MSS - it needs HP Fire to deal with steels, it needs EQ to beat Heatran (and without it it exacerbates sun teams' notorious weakness to...
  14. Gen 5 The OU Viability Ranking thread

Looking at the two posts above I think Venusaur and Cresselia should be placed in the same rank (or, at the very least, Cresselia should be placed just a rank below Venusaur) because they're both excellent sun abusers but spectacularly poor in other weathers. Therefore I'd like to nominate...
  15. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

    >implying good teams lost to the old Tyranitar/Keldeo/Lando-I core. I just claimed that Landorus-T performs virtually the same compared to Lando-I, not that the trio is hard to beat. Lando-T is simply doing Lando-I's old job. It still kills Celebi with U-Turn, still kills dragons with HP Ice...
  16. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

Predictably Landorus-T replaced Landorus-I in the popular Keldeo/Tyranitar/Landorus core. And it performs virtually the same way. I don't think banning Landorus-I accomplished anything.
  17. The UU Viability Ranking Thread

I'm really confused at these "high/mid/low S-rank" subcategories. Wouldn't it makes more sense to rename "high S-rank" just "S rank" and put the "mid/low S-rank" mons in A+ and A, respectively (and of course shift the current A-rank mon in a lower rank if necessary)? Remember the "if...
  18. Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

Kyurem-B @ Choice Specs Trait: Teravolt EVs: 4 Def / 252 Spa / 252 Spe Modest/Timid Nature - Draco Meteor - Ice Beam - Earth Power - Hidden Power[Fire] I know what you're thinking: "use Kyurem-C instead". Kyu-B however has a huge surprise factor on his side, as well as Teravolt, which makes...
  19. Gen 5 The OU Viability Ranking thread

I support Kyurem-B for S-rank as well. It is quite possibly the best anti-weather pokemon in the tier, royally screwing up rain, sun, hail and sand teams running Hippowdown. Even Tyranitar needs to watch out, as Kyu-B outspeeds it and has many ways to 2HKO it. It sets up exceptionally bulky...
  20. Would we want a Stealth Rock suspect test? [Read #196]

Just because something doesn't end up banned it doesnt mean that a suspect test was "a waste of time". Just saying.
