A better fighting game comparison would be to Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core, which is very balanced while still maintaining an incredible variety of characters, and it owes that to the amount of universal options that every character has access to (instant blocking, false roman cancels, dead angle...

Yeah, except for the whole Blizzard xx Tangrowth's awful special defense xx Get Raped combo being a pretty legitimate reason to fear the Fake Out.
