    # 68 - Banette (0.33 %) I have no life :p
  3. Need help for VGC torneys XD

If you follow my suggestion of Thunderbolt over Discharge on Zapdos, that still gets a 2HKO on Top. True, you don't get the OHKO after a CC, but the point remains. As with TTar, I'd kinda forgotten about Mamo :p A Choice set does seem fairly plausible, although you may have issues with that ol'...
  4. Please RMT: Goodstuffs!

If it's to fight Amoonguss, simply have Safeguard. I wouldn't recommend it all that much. I still stand by my advice to use Icy Wind, many of your mons, particularly Zapdos and Garchomp, have many checks that exist as checks purely because of their speed (eg Lati@s). Icy Wind also gets past...
  5. 8 Simple Rules to Make Everyone's VGC Experience Better

OMG I have to shower before future tournaments?! All joking aside, if I may add one thing to rule number one, it would be this - if you see someone all alone, it might be nice to talk to them; we are all pokenerds after all, and some, if very few, of us don't have very good social skills...
  6. Please RMT: Goodstuffs!

First of all, I have to say, I'm really pleased I'm not the only one running that Volcarona set in '12! I would strongly recommend revising that Cresselia set - you're giving up a whole slot to beat Trick Room when it's not that difficult to play around it. My favourite Cress set is: Cresselia...
  7. Need help for VGC torneys XD

I feel HP Ice is certainly worth more than HP Fly, you can actually do something to Mence and Chomp :p You don't always rely on a single pokemon for a particular move type - if you lose that pokemon (which will almost always happen in VGC) you have effectively lost that type, which, in the case...
  8. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - VGC edition

There are a few strong ways to beat Cress. One way is to run you own Cress, which can cripple your opponent's Cress's partner. If that doesn't work for you, another way is to run Safeguard or Substitute Latios, and while it doesn't do that much to Cress, it can avoid Icy Wind and Thunder Wave...
  9. Trickroom with Oomf.

Actually just noticed Signal Beam on Octillery - lol? You could probably replace it with Protect which is more helpful, or maybe Scald as a reliable STAB. You could also try Heatran over Camerupt, it's stronger and it will give you a slightly stronger chance vs. Reuniclus.
  10. A sandbox team for funs

Fair enough. The thing with Trick Room is that it's fairly easy to play around it though, or simply keeping Iron Ball TTar is a reasonable way of beating it.
  11. A sandbox team for funs

Okay, I hate to admit it, but you're probably right there. But I won't agree with replacing Landorus, it's a great counter to Metagross. As for the ScarfTar set, it won't beat Sash Aboma, with Grass Knot being an OHKO under anything other than Sandstorm. Just sayin'.
  12. Cya!! It's for the best.

Kay, time for a rate... Heatran's fine - Heat Wave a definite maybe. If you are going Heat Wave, you should probably use Shuca Berry for the surprise value. Not much to say about Cress. Though a touch gimmicky, you may want to try Moonlight on the set for more time for a second Trick Room...
  13. A sandbox team for funs

If you were actually listening to the previous discussion, we're just getting his Abomasnow weakness sorted out, more particularly Scarf Aboma. Moltres was a more unorthodox option for taking it down.
  14. team SWAGSTORM

Actually, just a quick mention, I think Specs/Gem Rotom-W OHKOs Ferrothorn under rain. My damage calculator's gone, so I can't verify it, but I do know that Hydro Pump will at least bring it close.
  15. ?Z (Peaked #14)

VGC is very much about offense - I've yet to see an actually decent team that doesn't focus on offense in some way. It's not exactly the 'killing everything' I have Thundurus for. I probably should have explained this, but Prankster Thunder Wave is a great use against Rain and the like. I...
  16. team SWAGSTORM

Goddamn Aron :p Yeah, Sitrus + Safeguard would be better on Cress. One small nitpick, Cress should have less speed than Meta so it can Swagger Meta before it attacks under Trick Room. That's all I got!
  17. Cya!! It's for the best.

I don't see what your problem with Top is - you have Cress and Meta to deal with it. Chandelure is a different matter though. You could try Tyranitar or Gastrodon, both deal with Chandy effectively. One thing I find with Trick Room though is that matches can be so short you only really need one...
  18. A sandbox team for funs

Actually, special Landorus is great in that it OHKOs Metagross in Sandstorm, which is great for a sand team. Zapdos doesn't outclass Moltres in every way - true it does have tricks like Electric STAB, but sometimes Fire STAB can be a bit better. Also, Zapdos is weak to Blizzard.
  19. ?Z (Peaked #14)

Lol you say that after suggesting a Tailwind user. The problem with Tornadus is that it doesn't really do anything offensively for the team - and it's all about offense in vgc. Prankster Thunder Wave has been very helpful. Thanks for the tip though, I may try it.
  20. A sandbox team for funs

I've seen Scarf Moltres be put to good use, so you may want to try that. I can see rain teams being a potential problem if you replace Latios for Moltres though - the fact that Ludicolo is on pretty much every rain team doesn't help Rotom, and Cress takes a lot of damage from rain-boosted Hydro...
