  1. Final Grades/GPA thread/School/University Discussion

That's true. I'm a foreign student, and I was only allowed to apply to either Cambridge or Oxford. I've never heard of anybody applying to both, let alone being accepted at both places. Do you happen to know what sort of circumstances would allow a student to apply to both places?
  2. Final Grades/GPA thread/School/University Discussion

It's actually listed as a separate course from the general physics course; the impression I get is that during the first 2 years the overlap of course content with general physics is very large, but in the final year you're supposed to take the theoretical papers which are more mathematically...
  3. Final Grades/GPA thread/School/University Discussion

I applied to do physics last year at Durham, Warwick, Imperial, and St. Andrews. At Imperial my course was physics with theoretical physics, everywhere else was a general physics course. Is it possible to get into UCL with AAB? I get the impression it's really tough to get into UCL these days :/...

I'm going as well. I'll be sure to say hi if I see you around :)
  5. Final Grades/GPA thread/School/University Discussion

I got into Princeton as an international, and I've never even been to the US before, so I don't really have specific questions to ask as I can't compare New Jersey to any other place in the US lol. Thanks for the heads up about NJ being expensive though; I'm only paying about 30% of Princeton...
  6. Final Grades/GPA thread/School/University Discussion

I know that since you're going to grad school your area of specialization is of primary importance, but are there any other reasons why you're going to Princeton? Weather, social life, or anything like that? I got into Princeton too and I'm trying to decide whether I should stump up the...
  7. The rotten foundation of our ethical principles and the resulting implications

Can't we use this skeptic argument about anything under the sun though? I mean, you can say that sensory perception does not provide reliable justification for our beliefs because the only way we can check the truth of sensory perceptions is by asking other people about the content of theirs...
  8. The rotten foundation of our ethical principles and the resulting implications

I'm not quite sure where you're going with the first two paragraphs. You paraphrase Hume's is-ought problem and Kant's principle of universalizability, but you don't seem to be making any concrete conclusions from there. I'd agree with the idea that ethics is a pragmatic system, and the best...
  9. Test your vocabulary; Donate rice

Just wanted to know what happened there. Anyway, I'm working on it now, hovering around level 38-39.
  10. Official "I want to edit an analysis" thread (read first post)

It'd really help if you'd quote exactly what I did wrong and mention how to correct them, as I'm kinda confused as to what you're talking about :[ I get the x0.66 part about Intimidate on the first set of numbers, but other than that I'm lost. Will make changes later - told you that this...
  11. Strategy Analysis: Drizzle Teams

Since I was in the process of making one myself, I’ll just add in what I have to say. After a little experimenting, I’ve found that 300 speed is quite the better choice for Kyogre/Groudon – both can destroy pokemon that hang around 299 with Ice Beam/Rock Slide quickly, including Zapdos, the...
  12. Official "I want to edit an analysis" thread (read first post)

quite possibly more tldr than obi's post Typed this up some time ago, but couldn't post it because my computer died. Anyway, I *think* nobody's finished what Mekkah set out to do in the Magic Numbers Guide, seeing how the analysis posted on the main site doesn't have what Mekkah's supposed to...
  13. Aragornbird's Art Gallery (UPDATED 12/04)

Agreeing that Quagsire is seriously one of the best you've drawn so far. Requesting a Mew btw, if that hasn't been done yet :X
