SV OU Sweet Dee and the Gang

Sweet Dee and the Gang take OU One of my favorite niche pokemon in past gens was Stored Power Sigilyph. There's just something about making a pokemon more tanky and just cascading over the enemy team that's so satisfying, and so when I encountered Espartha on the SV OU ladder, I just knew I had...

I'm sure it's already been said, but an H-bomb is factors greater in force than an atomic bomb.

Yeah. The key part of that is "survives", as you guys have pointed out. Here's a little logical flow to describe "countering" M-Kanga: > Opponent sent out Kangaskhan! > Use defensive counter/offensive counter/sableye? >> Defensive counter- takes hits, damages Kanga, dies. If you are lucky, you...

I may be on your side now (lol), but that doesn't mean I can't debunk this. Assuming this Skarm (with a Rocky Helmet) switches into a Return, Kanga has lost 1/3 of its HP. Next turn, it roosts. The Kanga player can either: Return or PuP. Return will bring Skarm back down to >10%. PuP will not do...

You know what? You bastards have actually managed to convince me that it is banworthy. In practice, it doesn't seem that bad, since you can usually kill it with team support. But that's the problem: You can't kill this thing without team support. Whatever would be considered a traditional...

I already addressed my Quasire argument, I agree with you that he does not make a counter. Also, many of them are not just checks. Terrak, for example, can take anything Kanga puts on him (except for a PuP on the switch), OHKO with CC, and kill or seriously dent the next thing. If the opponent...

Ah, you have me there. I hadn't done any calcs against Quaggy, but I assumed that it would be able to tank it. Scald wouldn't be reliable enough to neuter Kanga, so it doesn't counter as I thought it did.

I do. Honestly, broken is a subjective term, and really doesn't help with discussion. Stall teams might think that Genesect and Rotom-W are broken because Volt-Turn counters their strategy. HO might think that Toxic Stall Gliscor is broken. It really depends on the player's team and playstyle...

I don't know about you, but Physically Defensive Volcarona is probably the best set for Volcarona. However, that's neither here nor there. The main reason I brought it up is that it's my other main sweeper, and thus it was the first thing that came to mind, and I also happened to know good...

You do not. That's not to say that you don't have to think outside of the box. For hard counters, what comes to mind are Keldeo (a more defensive spread than typical), Terrakion, Cobalion, Dusclops, Cofagrigus (That one would be beautiful- WoW, Trick Room, base 200 Def., Mummy), Ferrothorn (It...

That's the thing- Keldeo isn't meant to switch into stuff. Just like last generation, it's a fabulous revenge killer. If you want to run it to survive Kanga's hits, you can change its EV spread. But, there's no point. Keldeo is a tried-and-true revenge killer. It will be switched in after Kanga...

Well, looks like I got to the party when it's going full steam. I think that Mega Kangaskhan should not be banned. I have personally made at least 5 teams around this guy in Pokebank, and Mega Kanga far from guarantees a win. It operates similar to any other sweeper, and has just as many...

Hmm, that sounds like a good suggestion. I may move it into defense to help it a little on the physical side, who knows). But I'll definitely try it! EDIT: I don't know if you misread, or somethng got lost in translation, but Scolipede is running 252 Speed with a Timid nature (less damage from...

Because it seemed like it was a defensive set, and I didn't want to risk it getting a free WoW off. As cosmicdonutsummer said, Kanga will likely be getting speed boosts from Scolipede. The HP EVs allow it to be quite a bit bulkier, and take advantage of the defense boosts from Scolipede...

Okay, another replay I felt was worth sharing: http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/pokebankoubeta-67263717 The game was well-played on both sides, I believe. However, this shows a problem in the team: effectively dealing with Jellicent. I made my own share of dumb mistakes this go-round, but the...

I will once I get more testing done, and also when I have the time to do new write-ups. Until then, let it be known that I'm currently testing all of the changes that TCR suggested, and that so far they are working well.

Nah, it doesn't need to spread status; it's being used as a sweeper. Togekiss and Rotom-W will be spreading status throughout the opposing team, so sacrificing that power isn't worth it, especially when the foe is likely paralyzed or burned anyways.

Well, the power of that 2nd hit is halved. So, assuming the attack boost applies, it's 40 BP* 1.5 (Atk. Boost)*.5 (2nd hit)= 30. Add that to the first hit, and it's doing 70 base first turn, which, in comparison to the 75 of Drain Punch, looks pretty equal. But it also gets the 2x on the first...

Need help for a special sweeper on my X/Y OU team.

As noted up higher, Volcarona is good. I play Pokebank, so I'm resisting the urge to say Latios (you might want to consider that in less than 1 month, though). Other options are Gengar, Calm Mind Alakazam, Nasty Plot Togekiss, Mega Ampharos, Special Aegislash, Reuniclus, and Arcanine (that would...

    DURRR: The story about Conkeldurr

Hello jimbiz; welcome to Smogon! Sadly, your team has some glaring flaws. I'll do my best to help, and perhaps we can make a great team. Firstly, Conkeldurr's moveset is total crap. As your main sweeper, he should be able to either boost, or play the role of a cleaner. From what you've posted...
