Huh, didn't know that. In fact, I may or may not have thought it was live...

I'm a bit late, but glad to see Masuda makes such good use of his time. Did he seriously feel the need to recap the corocoro info for kids who can't get a hold of a magazine or the internet? And what was with the build-up? I'd understand if it aired on the 13th-15th, but the info had been...

Helioptile's family could really help sun teams deal with opposing rain teams. Grass types on sun teams usually rely on sunny day actually being up, and they're weak to the opponent flying types and water types' ice beam. And hey, what is electric super effective against? Water and flying! And...

@Mario With Lasers, People weren't really discussing the tidbits from 4chan. It was basically always about the pokebeach list (granted I do think it was discussed too much). But so yeah, I don't see the problem. @BloodGod22, What makes you think any rumor has been proven fake recently...

It is funny, but really only natural. Even after all the new info we've gotten, Sylveon is still the most interesting thing to talk about. Sylveon's type is probably the most discussed pre-release mystery in pokemon history.

That pale blue being the background of normal wouldn't make any sense since Fletchling's main representation is of flying types, pale blue/purple has always been flying's color, and grey has always been normal's color. However, you make a good point about Xerneas and Yveltal's background colors...

I don't get why out of all the out-there supposed leaks from pokebeach, dual typed attacks are getting so much flak/attention. The prospect of another new mewtwo form this gen seems much more absurd to me. The theory that the one we know is the "X form" and we have yet to learn about the "Y...

DHR, I was actually wonding about the strange placement of snow down from the mountain too. Interesting theory, it makes sense to me. That video from gamexplain was pretty helpful. It certainly cleared up a lot for me. And unfortunately, it seems the starting town is actually in the south...

I personally consider Hiro to be reliable as things currently stand. So his wording of "mainly false" makes sense to me (since some of it's been true) and bolsters my hope for no dual type moves.
  10. Pokémon XY General Discussion

Well, the north still looks like the starting town to me. Also, I just noticed there's an illusion of half of a pokeball in that town. The cloudy area and the castle are definitely significant (maybe one for the evil team, and one for the elite four). And shockwave, 1, 2, and 6 you listed...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It also still looks kind of green to me compared to the zigzagoon's tan.

Holy fuck. Here's a social lesson for you: when sombody says something in an absolute way (ie "nobody wants a grid movement system"), that doesn't actually mean they think it's a fact. And it certainly doesn't mean they are trying to make everyone agree with them. Perhaps I should have pointed...

o_O You can have ice puzzles without moving in a grid. Look at Zelda. I had no problem with colosseum/xd's movement, and free movement doesn't automatically mean theirs anyway. It sounds like you'd rather run in an octagon than a circle...
  14. Pokémon XY General Discussion

Alrighty. We'll see who ends up being right. And don't kid yourself, nobody wants grid movement in x/y. Not even you. Search your heart, you know this to be true... And BlazeStar, nice find. That basically confirms the other gender option will be a character, and the hat can be taken off.

The direction of his face certainly doesn't match that idea. But if the tiles were tiny, that could work for his movement path I guess, since we don't see him move for very long after the turn. But then they wouldn't match the size of the grass patches. Besides, surely GF sees a gridded movement...

That wasn't even close to 45 degrees.
  17. Pokémon XY General Discussion

Interesting. It definitely seems like part of a new pokemon. My guess would be an early grass type. Also, it seems we can get zigzagoon early. That's cool. I'm guessing they're early in the game because they're near fletchling and fennekin, and not very many slots are filled out.
  18. Pokémon XY General Discussion

The link isn't working for me for some reason. Would you mind summarizing what you're talking about?
  19. Pokémon XY General Discussion

I guess it depends on what exactly is set up like a grid. Pokemon encounter spots? Maybe. But you clearly aren't restricted to standing in set tiles anymore if there's free movement.
  20. Pokémon XY General Discussion

We knew we could move in at least 8 directions before the new trailer, because of a new picture that was shown. Based on that, there could have still been a grid system. In the trailer though, you clearly see it's not just 8 directions.
