  1. Mirror Type

Cool move in theory, but probably rather poor in practice. Bulky Latias and Starmie can both just use Reflect and will beat Tyranitar and Scizor if used on the switch. You also have to be careful about taking Tyranitar's typing, as Surf in the sand won't OHKO, while the newly 4x Superpower will...
  2. Hahakomori

Poor thing. Same problem as Leafeon in being completely and totally walled by any steel type. It's even outclassed in passing Swords Dance now that Leafeon got Chlorophyll. STAB X-Scissor is definitely not enough to warrant it use over Leafeon. Shame, cuz I used one in game, and it worked...
  3. Here Comes The Sun!

You can use a bulky Shaymin. Sun boosted Growth is nice. The classic FireWaterGrass core is CeleTranPert, so you can try that if you want. The sun doesn't do much for Celebi though, outside of a guaranteed OHKO on Scizors with HP [Fire], which admittedly, is nice. Wobbuffet with a 28/252/228...
  4. Here Comes The Sun!

I'd just like to mention that the Venusaur set in the OP isn't actually legal. Power Whip is an egg move and therefore illegal with Chlorophyll =/ We will rejoice the day someone discovers a female Bulbasaur, but until then...

Lol I'm running Frustration/Waterfall on Bibarel and Surf/Toxic on Octillery on the same team, and I must say, team preview is really helping me quite a bit. They've got a Burungeru or Porygon2? Octillery it is! Do they have Suicune or Vaporeon in the rain? To Bibarel! Also I can't emphasize...
  6. Xatu (Analysis) [QC 0/3]

Wish heals by half, not a third. In Team Options, you may want to list specific things that absolutely need SR off (Moltres, Dragonite, etc) and also things to deal with Tyranitar. Any of the fighting trio can take Tyranitar's STABs and OHKO back and threaten a sweep with Justice Heart. Lucario...
  7. Crawdaunt

Would be a good idea, except with those cardboard defenses, it won't last through too much even with investment. Adaptibility is awesome, but lack of priority is extremely saddening. No Aqua Jet is kinda understandable (it's a fat lobster), but no Sucker Punch? Oh, Gamefreak :(
  8. Flygon

How... graphic... <________< Anyway, Flygon is far from useless this gen, and it definitely still has the niche role of being a good scarfer due to immunity/resistance to hazards and good typing, but like some of the other posters mentioned, the utility of this niche role is dubious this gen...
  9. Moody

You completely disregarded my response to your post on the last page and then made the same bad argument that "because you can circumvent Evasion boosts, this ability is perfectly fine in the metagame." That is not what most people are arguing. The more reasonable arguments revolve around the...

I've used the exact set for a while now, except Erufuun @ Focus Sash and Tailwind over Leech Seed. Like you said, it's mostly filler but I've found Tailwind to be better utility in general. Along with those 2, I also use an Aqua Ring + Wish passing Vaporeon for support, as a slow Baton Pass is...
  11. Moody

Many of the arguments in this thread center around "ban this ability because it relegates battling to a simple game of dice" not "ban this ability because it makes previously awful Pokemon much less awful". The fact that Inconsistent does heavily depend on luck is indisputable, you cannot argue...
  12. Ice, Ice, Baby - Hail Discussion

I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't think you do either. Abomasnow in no way, shape or form, beats Tyranitar. Abomasnow does NOT "have full speed evs", as often its goal is to be SLOWER than Tyranitar to set up Hail. Even if it did outspeed, Wood Hammer will never KO without any...
  13. Moody

It does =/ I've been using a Stun Spore/Taunt/Memento/filler Erufuun lead @ Focus Sash to some success. It helps set up quite a bit. Aqua Ring passing Vaporeon is nice too, because often, Burungeru comes into absorb whatever, only to become set up bait for one of the Inconsistent users. Aqua...
  14. Here Comes The Sun!

Also, you should probably take off the Kasib berry. It won't activate unless it blocks a super effective move, so Dugtrio holding it doesn't make much sense :) I really like the Goruggo idea actually. I'm definitely going to try that out. I've been running a balanced sun team, leaning on the...
  15. Done :) I didn't know anyone actually used that thread haha.

  16. Kabutops (Analysis)

Agree with the first two, but Omanyte might have some trouble tearing any holes ;) Also, Birijion should be added to the list of counters. Resisting dual STAB while remaining neutral to X-Scissor makes it a nice switch in, and it threatens Kabutops with everything it has.
  17. Slowbro (Analysis) [GP 0/2]

Just like to mention it isn't immune to Dark.
  18. Ice, Ice, Baby - Hail Discussion

Wow, very nice OP. I was going to suggest Moltres, but I see that you already have it in the list of things to come. I ran a Moltres on my hail stall in gen4, and it was incredibly useful. I needed something to handle Infernape, Metagross, and Heatran, but Tentacruel just couldn't repeatedly...
  19. Beartic

No. He sucks. LOL! On topic: Sigh, poor Tsunbear :( I really like the design, and wtf polar bears can run at 25 mph. That's how fast cars go in residential areas. Dumb GameFreak. He doesn't get outclassed per se, due to his insignificant niche roles, but compared to other rain sweepers...
  20. Hitmonlee

Then there's a sizeable chance Doryuuzu will survive your Normal Jewel'd Fake Out + Mach Punch, if that's what you're trying to revenge kill at least.
