  1. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

Well, my apologies then. I forgot what Terrakion's base speed was.
  2. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

:evan: That's rather silly. Whether scarfers outspeed each other is irrelevant when comparing them. What makes a scarfer good is its ability to check threats, stop sweeps, outspeed other pokemon, provide utility after switching in (usually through type coverage), and switch into things. The...

Honestly, Gliscor OU defensive sub beats Terrakion straight out. This is Gliscor with 252 HP, 184 Def, Impish nature (+Def -SpAtk) Stone Edge: 159-187 (44.91 - 52.82%) Close Combat: 26.55 - 31.35% Sacred Sword: 20.05 - 23.72% X-Scissor: 11.86 - 14.12% In other words, Gliscor can switch in...
  4. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

I suppose then that I should rephrase. I don't think that the modern metagame is very hospitable to Terrakion, especially the scarf sets. There are a lot of ghosts and physical walls that can take 2/4 of your moves, which is not good news for scarfed OR banded sets. If you're thinking of...
  5. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

I personally think that the scarf set isn't worth your time of day; Gliscor can wall it for days and do whatever it wants when you inevitably switch out. The banded set threatens Gliscor, but only with stone edge. If you manage to predict that Gliscor is coming in on stone edge, good for you...

Is pokemon lab down, or is it just my computer?
  7. Insert Gimmick Name Here -- An RMT

I'd recommend Stone edge over earthquake on your gyara. In reality, it only helps you hit steels when waterfall does it nicely anyway. Stone edge will help you to combat flyers like zapdos or Dragonite that otherwise completely wall your most potent sweeper.
  8. Team Lax: the True OU Balanced Team

Not much time for a rate now, but maybe switch out Tomb for the nasty plot set. Scare out something that can't kill it and do more damage than every should come off of a spiritomb.
  9. 5 Monsters and a Fairy- A competitive OU team

I understand that this is your first RMT, but the writing is poor at best. The piece is generally hard to read. Of course, we aren't expecting you to write a novel, or to have a professional editor, but practicing proper grammar is just good practice. Now, onto the team. First of all, if your...
  10. OU RMT 1st Time Post Long time Listener..

Your team looks pretty solid all around. However, I think it would be worthwhile to point out the weakness to SDluke. It can come in on Vaporeon and set up a SD, then proceed to rip holes in your team with whatever HP it has left. (Even if it only has enough for four attacks, that's four kills)...
  11. Battle Cherry breaker

I think that the band is an interesting idea on Lucario (turning him into a bazooka, essentially) but it really isn't fast enough to do much revenge killing. I would swap him out for Flygon or else give him a scarf. That will also fix your team's weakness to scarf Tyranitar, which is still...
  12. Homecoming (My first Smogon RMT) UPDATED THREATS N' SETS!!

I would take out Kiss for blissey. As much as I hate Blissey, you are really weak to special sweepers, most notably CM rachi. Any set will come in and CM one time, then survive Ape's Flamethrower or Close Combat, killing it with Psychic, and then sweeping the rest of your team with either...

Sure you can post. I have no problem with that.
  15. Retro Team

If you're trying to get most of your opponent's pokemon toxic'd, then you probably want more pokemon that have toxic. I would therefore recommend toxic on vaporeon (a classic set that was more popular in the days of platinum wifi battling) or use Toxic spikes Tentacruel instead of forree. It...
  16. Dragonfly Rape

I would give Hitmontop Stone Edge over foresight. It's nice to be able to spin on ghosts, but why not attack them (and pesky gyaras too) with Stone edge? True, that's a little more time that your yanmega isn't going to be sweeping, but something like gengar would stop your sweep cold anyway.
  17. YANMEGA 4 UBERS

I think that since you only have a single water resist or poke that can take any water attacks at all, I would recommend another, namely suicune or vaporeon. It depends on if you want the water absorb + wish support or attacking capability. I personally like suicune better, but vaporeon might be...
  18. Team OU's Apocalyse, a team designed to defeat common OU threats!

Your team is looking a little weak to scarftran; you have nothing that outspeeds it and has any chance of killing it. I think that changing your dragonite to jolly might help. If not, it'll keep coming in and firing off fire blasts, as the only thing that can take them is your heatran. Dragonite...
  19. My first stall team

Well then try this set that I used in my old sandstorm stall team. Cladol@leftovers Bold 252 HP / 4 Def/ 252 SpD ~Cosmic Power ~Protect ~Toxic ~Earthpower This is one of the funniest sets ever, walled only by skarm. The strategy is fairly straightforward. Come in on a choiced resist, get a...
  20. I'd love a rate

Actually, I think that your team is without an answer to scarf flygon, who is becoming more and more popular due to his ability to counter heatran, regardless of the set. He can come in on anything on your team accept the ice beams, U-turn out, and come back again for the kill. What you need is...
