  1. Kyurem

I love Glaciate on this thing. Kyurem munches on everyone who doesn't have Conkeldurr or Mach Punch/Vacuum Wave/Bullet Punch. Unfortunately... that's just about everyone right there. Now, if only it had a cooler Dex entry, then it'd probably have the self-confidence to beat its way to Ubers...
  2. Victini's Wrath

That was an awesome warstory, and fun to read (not that Cyrus has fun). FINALLY, someone else realizes that godliness that is Gastrodon. NU my ass. That person really knows how to bluff with Jolteon, though O.o what a mindfuck.
  3. PM the administration about this. I can't believe they're letting people hack.

  4. Smogon Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament Summer Edition II: Round 3

@_@ Okay, I did not expect to find a YuGiOh tournament thread on Smogon. I'll definitely join the next one. I've been playing since the game came out and I'm an incredibly skilled duelist.
  5. Amoonguss (Analysis)

So, are there any tactics for beating Amoongus yet? Tornadus/Thundurus and Chandelure can OTK it, which gets past Rage Power if your partner is slower than the attacker. This could leave the other Pokemon specialized to deal with threats like Jellicent and Terrakion--I'm thinking Focus Sash...
  6. Team preview discussion;

Can I nominate this for Post of the Year or something? On topic: It's like Game Freak said, "Oh shit! Zoroark might be good! How can we make it suck?"
  7. Smogon's VGC 2011 Tournament Round 1

Is it too early to call this "VGC Amoongus and Jellicent FTW"?
  8. Terrakion

How often are you able to get a second boost up? With STAB, it can definitely take down the Kamis. Metalkid's damage calculator is down right now, so I'm not too sure about Latias. However, it shouldn't be too difficult to Pursuit Trap it with Tyranitar, who is already a good partner for it.
  9. Sawsbuck (Analysis)[QC 2/2][GP 2/2]

Sawsbuck is going to be a really good sweeper, and a staple on Sun teams. The question is, how good will Sunny Day be? You should list its synergies with other Pokemon that are going to be used alongside it, especially Whimsicott. Everything's going to be all about the cotton. ... Or this...
  10. Empoleon

Hydro Pump is for the bad or desperate. If a move misses, it's going to do 0 damage, and something like Empoleon doesn't want to risk that.
  11. Heatran

So, it looks like Heatran is even better than he was in Gen 4. I wonder how long it'll take before he's considered for Ubers, since it's the ultimate anti-everything Pokemon.
  12. VGC 2011 rules up!

Sir, you are a fucking genius.
  13. Disconnecting in Global Link matches

I'm only okay with someone disconnecting if it's because of luck. But, yeah, if I kill someone's Thunder Wave/Sheer Cold/Double Team Regice and they disconnect, that's just pathetic. Why even bother playing?
  14. VGC '11 US Northeast Regional - Newark, NJ - June 18th - WON BY imperfectspider

I'm glad that the closest VGC to Galactic HQ is going to be the latest VGC, but not when it's over four hours away ;_; Now I'll have to find some other crazy people and hitch a ride with said crazy people and get stabbed, etc. Why can't I just Fly there? :'(
  15. On Banning Abilities and Ability Combinations

Just as a game designer can make anything do anything, a competitive guideline designer can, too. For instance, it's unnecessary to ban Blaziken when Speed Boost on Blaziken could be banned, Drizzle on Politoed, etc.
  16. Stealth Rock Discussion

While it doesn't look like Stealth Rock is as broken as it was in Gen 4, it's still the single best move in the game, and Shadow Tag Chandelure makes killing Rapid Spinners the easiest thing since OHKO'ing something weak to Stealth Rock. The most unbelievable thing about SR is that Game Freak...
  17. On Banning Abilities and Ability Combinations

There is absolutely nothing holding the player base from banning any move, ability, move combination, or item on any Pokemon. I think I lot of people who are against banning moves/abilities/combinations aren't letting themselves realize that. For instance, if Spiritomb could have Wonder Guard...
  18. Sigilyph (Analysis)

Ugh, that's what I get when I'm too lazy to run calculations. I still think Timid would be better in level 50 battles, though, but I'll check some Speeds later. I think someone else has already designed a set that outspeeds Jolly T-Tar before a Dragon Dance, though. I'll likely go with that...
  19. Haxorus (Analysis)

How would this Haxorus set seem? Mold Breaker + Lum Berry (lets him set up against burn and sleep) Jolly, 252 A/S, 6 HP -Dragon Dance -Outrage -Earthquake -Taunt It's worked relatively well for me in the Battle Subway, and Taunt is a great asset to have available in Generation 5, especially...
  20. Sigilyph (Analysis)

I nearly had a heart attack when I looked on Bulbapedia and it said Xatu couldn't give Roost along with Psycho Shift and Stored Power. I'm planning on getting a competitive Sigilyph, with a few changes, as usual. Scary Shit + Flame Orb Magic Guard Timid, 252 D/SD, 6 HP -Cosmic Power -Stored...
