I usually do research for battles in the Battle Frontier although for games against actual people I don't do any kind of research besides knowing what types are effective against others which I think is basic pokemon knowledge:)

But, the problem with EV-trained gym leaders is that the pokemon players who just play the game for fun and don't worry about EV training their pokemon would make it harder for them to beat the gym leaders possibly making it less fun but, more of a challenge.

I agree that the gyms in pokemon black and white should have well-thought out movesets for the pokemon trainer's/gym leader's pokemon much like RSE with the flying gym I had such a hard time on that gym it took me a while and a bunch of training to finally conquer the gym leader, the trainers...

That's strange that Regigigas was faster than Weavile, the only way this could have been possible is if your Weavile was paralyzed which couldn't have been possible because none of Palmer2's pokemon know any paralyzing moves so I don't know how that would be possible, maybe you weren't paying...
