  1. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

I personally favor the Encore support set, mostly because it's so annoying for people when they try to EQ a Heatran or something and find themselves locked into EQ with a Togekiss in. From there you Twave whatever comes in and proceed to Flinchhax it to death. Annoying as hell for opponents...
  2. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

TheValkyries, you must have left some Nasty Plot boosts on there or not set the weather to Sandstorm (remember TTar gets an SDef boost) because a 0 SpA Togekiss does 70.2% max to a 0 SpDef TTar. You have to be running the Choice Specs set in order to guarantee an OHKO, and even that won't finish...
  3. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

Taunt Gliscor doesn't work unless it carries something not named Earthquake. Otherwise Breloom keeps spamming Spore until the Taunt wears off and sleeps you.
  4. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

Um... lol. I'm sorry, but if you let Breloom Spore you and then don't switch out immediately you're begging to die. Why would you just sit there waiting for it to kill you? Unless Breloom was used in conjunction with a Mean Look BPer you're free to switch. If you don't leave the spored Poke in...
  5. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

Yeah, it's surprising how long that PP lasts. Remember that you don't have to put up a new sub every turn if your opponent is asleep. Um... Breloom should never be on the same team as Toxic Spikes. Because then Spore doesn't work on anything grounded. :P
  6. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

As a counter to it or as something else that's a threat? Because, yes, Gengar is along with Skarm and Togekiss among the best counters to Breloom. Though you have to be running Substitute to keep the SubSeeder from slowly killing you (assuming you don't have Lum Berry).
  7. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

Breloom should never get a sub up unless you were switching to something to counter it. Otherwise you just break the sub--what else would you be doing, letting it set up? Intelligent players using a set with Substitute on it (the most dangerous of these is the SubSeeder) will Substitute first...
  8. The age of the substitute

Beat up. go. xD IMHO, in the current metagame every team should have something with Encore. It's the most annoying move ever. More annoying than Taunt by far. Of course, it requires prediction.
  9. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

Breloom's just not good enough to warrant a ban. Take it from someone who's used one: All it takes is one Taunt (from something carrying a move not named Earthquake), or one Encore, and it's instantly forced out. Something with a Lum Berry and base speed over 70 with speed EVs takes it out...
  10. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

Yeah, sorry. That post was kind of unclear. The jist: The only way to stop Mence is to switch in a Cress as soon as you see it and OHKO with Ice Beam. Otherwise you are guaranteed to lose at least one Poke to the big dragon. As in "dead", not as in "sleeping" like what happens with Breloom...
  11. Bye bye Latias! Bring in the apes...

The only true counter to Mence is Cress, and if Sandstorm is up or Cress has any kind of residual damage it can't counter either. Either you have to be able to switch in a full health Cress the instant you see Mence so that DD versions will DD while you switch or you have to have something with...
  12. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread Mk. 5

No way, Sherlock. What was your first clue? Do you think everyone else is a complete idiot? I've been testing this set for about two weeks; I think I know what Explosion does. Instead of assuming everyone else is an idiot, why not learn about the concept of a "suicide lead"? Maybe because...
  13. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread Mk. 5

New OU/UU Lead: Shiftry @ Focus Sash EVs: 4 HP 252 Atk 252 Spe Ability: Chlorophyll Nature: Hasty Fake Out Sunny Day Explosion Faint Attack So yeah. Maybe this idea is flawed, but it seems to work pretty damn well in matches. Fake Out on turn one, Sunny Day on turn two, Explode the same turn...
  14. March of the Penguins - An Empoleon Team

That's ... a pretty standard Cress set. It's also the best counter to Salamence that I have ever seen or used. Switch in on the attack which won't 2HKO and Mence eats a rather unexpected Ice Beam for the OHKO. TWave spreads status. TTar, Empoleon, Heatran, and Lucario are all weak to mostly...
  15. First RMT (OU Rain Dance)

If you're desperate to beat Aerodactyl and still get Rain Dance up, you can employ Electrode with its base 140 speed and access to Explosion, Taunt, and Rain Dance. Keep in mind that your Explosion will be less powerful, but you will be able to get past opposing Azelf and Aerodactyl in the lead...
  16. Walking On Sunshine

23-hour bump, still looking for a Drapion replacement. And, 3v3rnoob, I'm not sure about the loss of accuracy I'd get by switching to Magma Storm without Wide Lens. Thanks for helping out, though.
  17. Walking On Sunshine

@Critical Hit Thanks for the advice and the suggestions, but I'm a little worried that they'll open up whole new cans of worms. At this point I find that it becomes a question of what I can afford to lose. Cutting Drapion makes me horrendously vulnerable to FlinchHaxing Togekiss, and I lose...
  18. Walking On Sunshine

I already thought about the Shiftry thing, but all its EVs are in Attack, making the Attack stat about 80 points higher than Special Attack. I'll try the other two suggestions, though. Thanks. Cress is probably the most valuable player on this team. I had Blissey on before, and it wasn't...
  19. Walking On Sunshine

Sunny Day Well, RMT #1 for me on Smogon. Yay, I guess. My previous two teams were decent, netting me 40-65% win chances, but had enough problems that I didn't bother taking them to here: this one, I think, is better. I hope. Anyways, I was reading through the Smogon site trying to improve a...
  20. My first team!

Ninjask should probably be a lead. I know that Lopunny is more effective at actually leading, but the problem is that if they get a Stealth Rock up you don't have a Rapid Spinner and thus Ninjask loses half of its health just by being switched in. Does everything really **have** to have Baton...
