  4. Mono-Poison and a Cobalion :D

You're right, Scolipede or maybe Roserade would be the one to go.
  5. Mono-Poison and a Cobalion :D

I play mono-poison quite a bit, and I would highly recommend fitting Venomoth on your team: Venomoth @ Focus Sash Ability: Tinted Lens Timid Nature 252 HP, 252 Spe, 4 SpA Sleep Powder Quiver Dance Bug Buzz Baton Pass If you can successfully pass a QD boost to Nidoking, it's basically over...
  6. The Missing Gene

I love nidoking's power and coverage, but I think its typing is a problem. It can't safely switch in too often.
  7. BW2 General Metagame Discussion Thread

I've said it before and I'll say it again: a ban on perma-weather is the better alternative. Multiple steps have been taken to balance rain, and it's still the dominant force. This "new metagame" is little more than Weather Wars II, Attack of the Therians. Battles that boil down to Politoed vs...
  8. Standard OU team...? Or not!

Gengar makes a great check against fighting attackers, but I'd like to recommend Disable over Pain Split. Disable lets you entirely shut down many of the common fighting-types in OU, like Conkeldurr, Breloom, CB Terrakion, and some forms of Toxicroak and Scrafty.

I tried CM Espeon in its place for a brief period to help reduce the issue with entry hazards. It turned out to be too frail to be effective, but I would like to find a way to...
  10. We're gettin' the band back together!!

Edited the OP to show changes in Tyranitar's set. The change has been mostly beneficial, but it now has trouble against Heatran. I'm not entirely sold on Jellicent yet. After trying it out briefly, I found it to be more harmful than helpful. However, when it was in a position to be useful...
  11. We're gettin' the band back together!!

I had totally forgotten about Jellicent, but it's a very elegant solution here. Thanks for pointing it out, I'm going to give it a try asap.
  12. We're gettin' the band back together!!

Recently, I decided to toy with the VoltTurn interaction between Scizor and Rotom-W. As I progressed through building the team, it began to look very familiar. It turned out to contain almost the exact six Pokemon that made up my most successful OU team from Gen IV. Sure the sets were all quite...
