  1. Togekiss

An entire togekiss discussion without mentioning its best set?!? Togekiss @ Choice Scarf Timid Serene Grace 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe ~ Trick ~ Air Slash ~ Aura Sphere/Yawn ~ Roost/Wish Yeah, trick is hgss move tutor only, but otherwise with the scarf air slash is amazing. Even better, the...
  2. Eviolite

Not really, leftovers provides 6.25% recovery so the advantage of using Porygon over Porygon2 is less than 2% at most, and you're giving up alot of spatk. But without knowing exactly what the stone does it's all speculation.
  3. Porygon2

Sand Throw, Magic Mirror, Regeneration, there's still plenty of stuff. IMO it really needed psycho shift since status just kills it as opposed to unreliable magic coat and that still hasn't happened.
  4. How did you create your username?

I was really bored when I joined.
  5. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver - The Offical Competitive Discussion Thread

Well, it learns Recover already and that wasn't really useful. Pain Split is basically a worse Recover except against Blissey. Gravity on Porygon2 is much more interesting combined with Blizzard but especially Zap Cannon.
  6. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics - July 2009

Completely disagree with your rationale (but I'm always in favor of more statistics as long as its for informational rather than conclusory/tiering/gameplay purposes). You're assuming that "bad" players and test teams intentionally pick substandard or inferior stuff and bloat the stats for...
  7. The use of "inaccurate" moves

I've actually used Iron Head on Agiligross with a King's Rock :) It's a decent change from the usual LO/Leftovers/Lum Berry and the 40% total flinch rate is passable, works like a bulkier flinch jirachi with 1 turn setup instead of being choiced. IMO this topic would be alot more illuminating...
  8. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics - July 2009

IMO the most important rule of team building is minizing overlapping weaknesses and maximizing available switch ins and coverage, not trying to get every possible role filled. Porygon2 and PorygonZ might not have the same role, but their type coverage and weaknesses are so identical that...
  9. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics - July 2009

IMO PorygonZ will have to fall into UU or Blissey use will have to drop off before Porygon2 becomes OU. Normal type is rather mediocre and those two seem to be too common at this point to see much more Porygon2 use. Unlike Steel types when you can have three of them on the same...
  10. New and "creative" moveset/EV spread thread. Mk. 4

This set deals with all 6 top OU leads: Kecleon w/ Chople Berry Adamant/Color Change 252HP/232ATK/26DEF -Stealth Rock -Counter -Sucker Punch -Ice Punch/Thunderpunch Aero: Ice Punch is a 2HKO, neither Earthquake nor Stone Edge can KO after first turn taunt. Azelf: Kecleon's high special...
  11. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer.

You can, but the only way to do it is feeding vitamins. Since vitamins max out at 100 EVs, you won't be able to get more EVs than that into any stat afterwards.
  12. The starving vegan, or, what is hypocrisy.

I guess I'm in the minority, so I want to get something straight. I've always percieved being Vegetarian as avoiding meat products because you're contributing to the suffering of animals. I'm not a 100% vegetarian myself, but it's what I've been told. As a result, it should always be morally...
  13. April showers bring May...AP Testing!

I thought people in other countries took IB tests? At least that's what I was told. AP tests are a godsend for GPA (unless you go to a school that doesn't accept them), if you think about it $100 isn't that big of a deal compared to the tuition you're going to have to pay in college anyway. I...
  14. The starving vegan, or, what is hypocrisy.

Somehow, first thing that came to my mind was the Donner party. Now I wish I skipped the first part, but the principle is the same, I think the vegan is a hypocrite but he did what he had to do. Some people are strong-willed enough to hunger-strike and starve themselves for their principles...
  15. so eggs start out at LV1 this time. how do you find good IVs effectively?

That was never true, from what I heard. The Battle Tower doesn't set your level at all.
  16. READ FIRST: Discussion Index

Nidoqueen: [Discussion Thread] Dugtrio: [Discussion Thread] Omastar: [Discussion Thread] Porygon2: [Discussion Thread] Bibarel: [Discussion Thread] And why is Dusclops on the list?
  17. Old SpA being considered Physical

It's really subjective, you still have Victreebel with Poison Jab and Banette with Shadow Claw. Too bad not all types have analogous physical and special attacks like Flash Cannon/Iron Head or Energy Ball/Seed Bomb.
  18. The New "hax items" Thread

So.. +8% accuracy is useless, while -8% accuracy is the end of the world? The set up argument works both ways. Just by using CB Heracross you're giving your opponent a chance of setting up, since his Close Combat is 90%, Megahorn is 85%, and Stone Edge is 80%. By your logic, Scheme Azelf is...
  19. Which is better?

Too bad none of the Serene Gracers learn Discharge, Jirachi would be great with Discharge instead of having to rely on Thunder for paralysis. Otherwise, Probopass is the only one I can think of who might use it, with Magnet Pull he can probably spam it a couple of times to help with his aweful...
  20. Eminent Domain / Compulsory Purchase

I started reading up on this when my city government used it to clear out some low end offices ("blight") to make way for downtown redevelopment a few years ago, but it kind of surprises me to see it popping up here of all places. I'm not surprised at all eminent domain is being abused; I've...
