  1. Define "Metagame"!

That's about right. It comes from Greek I believe. Anyway, here's my short section on metagaming I just wrote in about 10 minutes (keep in mind i'm trying to explain this to someone who's not very familiar with gaming altoghether.) My essay is actually about online gaming communities, so...
  2. Define "Metagame"!

A lot of great answers here. Thanks guys! And tgva i don't absolutely need to see that paper, I think what's here is good enough; but thanks a lot for the offer. Also to the guy with the Godot avatar, OBJECTION!
  3. Define "Metagame"!

I can read wikipedia too, thanks. (to the first guy who copied it without citing.) Sudo: I agree it's not bad, but not really deep enough for my liking...sorry to sound like a snob heh... basically it's a good start but I need more. Does anyone have a better definition? Smogon's community is...
  4. Define "Metagame"!

(Don't know if this is the right place for this thread but it wasn't getting any views in Con. of the Masses and doesn't belong in internet renaissance so here goes!) Hi guys. Long time no see. Anyway, I'm currently writing an essay for school in which I'm explaining what a metagame is for...
  5. Multiplayer games for the Wii

Strikers, Budokai Tenkaichi 2/3, Trauma Centre: New Blood, GH3(Wait for the Mono bug to be fixed though), maybe Umbrella Chronicles (haven't played). Link's Crossbow Training is fun to compete in but you can't play 2 player simultaneous. But best of all... DOWNLOAD GUNSTAR HEROES!!!
  6. Jeff Gerstmann fired over Kane & Lynch review?

Gamespot has an "explanation" up now... http://www.gamespot.com/news/6183666.html Doesn't seem very convincing to me. Whether or not you like Gerstmann, Gamespot AND Eidos are gonna take a hit for this.
  7. Jeff Gerstmann fired over Kane & Lynch review?

Granted. Which is why I deleted that post. The Touch Detective thing is pretty funny though haha. The best are the games that claim "Game of the Year" as if it were a common concensus by all reviewers and gamers or something.
  8. Jeff Gerstmann fired over Kane & Lynch review?

Apparently you didn't read it (or aren't very good at reading comprehension) because I said time and time again i DON'T think that that review (or the K&L one for that matter) warranted getting him fired. I just think it made him less credible as a reviewer. In my opinion TP is a masterpiece...
  9. Jeff Gerstmann fired over Kane & Lynch review?

Geez did you completely ignore my rant? And yeah that 6.whatever for FE10 was funny. Between that and gamespy giving trauma centre a 5 for being too hard I too am starting to think reviews are becoming worthless. About my first comment, i made it at 6 AM, not my best time to be reasoning...
  10. Jeff Gerstmann fired over Kane & Lynch review?

OK. I also waited outside (not 12 hours, I dunno where you went), and I found it was completely worth it. TP may not be OoT but it's among the best Zeldas for sure. The temples are genious, the environments HUGE and beautiful, the new tools are brilliant (spinner, chain flail, double hookshot...
  11. Pokemon Trading Figures Game

There's a demonstration on that site i posted. You might have to play it to really understand it though.
  12. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

A question for you FE Fans: Favorite character? Mine would be Raven from FE7. I also like Gerik in 8. Then Greil in 9...Basically I like the Hero class a lot.
  13. Super Paper Mario OR Super Mario Galaxy?

SPM was a huge disappointment to me, and i agree with everything Bioshock said. TTYD is one of my all-time favorite games. Why would they take that amazing basis and strip it of any kind of character or party building elements such as skills and badges, turning it into a bare-bones platformer...
  14. Pokemon Trading Figures Game

Has anyone else tried this yet? http://www.go-pokemon.com/tfg/ I first heard of it on Penny-arcade; they seem to love it. It looked pretty cool to me so i looked into it a bit (there is a SORE lack of info on the internet btw), eventually i decided to buy some, so i split a case off ebay...
  15. A Raichu set that looks awesome on paper

Well darn T.T ah well, the original poster's set is still interesting. and surprising, since Raichu doesn't exactly scream "Watch out, i have counter!"
  16. A Raichu set that looks awesome on paper

Sorry if this is widespread knowledge i somehow missed, but does anyone know for sure how sub + counter works?
  17. A Raichu set that looks awesome on paper

How about... Raichu@Leftovers -Sub -Counter -Volt Tackle/ TBolt -Focus Punch/ Grass Knot Basically threaten something into switching, e.g. bring him in on a stat boost so they think you have encore; then sub on the switch and Counter the physical attacker that comes in. (or FP the Blissey)...
  18. Super Mario Galaxy discussion/impressions/help/etc Thread

I dislike games that are too easy, but so far I find Galaxy to be just right in that respect, and I can see it getting fairly challenging later on. Honestly though the fun factor alone makes it worth playing, no matter who you are. It's *cringe* out of this world. Plus if you own a Wii and want...
  19. Super Mario Galaxy discussion/impressions/help/etc Thread

It's damn good. There's hardly anything to complain about: just ask the reviewers! http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp?rankings=y Yup... Mario Galaxy is the no.1 rated game of all time, at least for now (It's the same on gamestats, but ranked no. 8 because they count...
