  1. Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer MK IV: Read the FAQ in the Opening Post

What is the difference between "Heavy Offense" and "Hyper Offense"? Are they not the exact same thing?
  2. Technical Support (read OP before posting!)

    Sure okay, fair enough.
  3. Technical Support (read OP before posting!)

I didn't register it because I remember on one of an older version of the server it said "register your forum name" and I already did register my name "WildfireXIII", so I thought that the server just didn't want a whole bunch of registered alts. I guess I just misunderstood. Anyways, the name...
  4. Technical Support (read OP before posting!)

I have been using a certain name on the smogon PO server for a month now but I haven't registered it. However, now somebody has registered it and has set a password on it and now I can't access it. It has a fairly high rating (it's like ~30 or so). Is there any way to unregsiter it, or is there...
  5. Deoxys-S Tiering Discussion

I'm one of the few people who actually does run ChopleTar against this thing so that it usually (I have seen some hazard sets run extra defense EVs so that Crunch is only a 2HKO) never gets more than one layer of hazards and I still know for a fact that it's far too good.
  6. Chandelure and DW tier

I DO play DW OU, and I agree with FrostFire. He hit the nail right on the head.
  7. Chandelure and DW tier

This thing is far more threatening than Dugtrio and Magnezone simply because it can trap and kill more things that just ground-weak pokemon and steels. Dugtrio is pretty much only useful for trapping and KOing ground weak pokemon, and even then those pokemon have to be weakened a little first...
  8. Stall, my love

You could also give it Taunt so that Skarmory can't Whirlwind you out as well as prevent their other pokemon from using their status moves. Then you can 2HKO Skarmory with +2 Outrage. Some other ways that I can think of beating stall are: Magic Bounce Espeon/Xatu. Having their own status moves...
  9. Double Team and Minimize:Broken or Uncompetitive?

What I meant with that statement was that if pokemon can become viable due to the fact that they can counter DT then there should be several dozens, if not hundreds more that can also become viable because they can use DT. Any arguments saying that DT can countered by a list of moves and...
  10. Double Team and Minimize:Broken or Uncompetitive?

If there have been arguments by people that say that unviable things like Clear Smog Amoongus can become viable in a DT metagame due to DT, then why can't the opposite be true? Even if you didn't actually have to counter as many potential DT pokemon, the number of viable pokemon with anti-DT...
  11. Double Team and Minimize:Broken or Uncompetitive?

Their DT pokemon being weaker doesn't matter if they still beat your anti-DT pokemon. I don't see how both players having to be prepared for a broken strategy makes it less broken. You get more done by using other moves only if you use them once usually. Using DT 3 times in a row is usually...
  12. Official OU Round 5 Pokemon Suspect Voting

I forgot if I voted or not already but I have, I apologize and please delete this post. Thundurus: Ban Excadrill : Do not ban Deoxys-S: Ban Dragonite: Do not ban Volcarona: Do not ban
  13. Double Team and Minimize:Broken or Uncompetitive?

Many of you are still missing the main point. To counter Double Team, not only do you have to counter the move, but you also have to counter the potential users of Double Team as well. That means you have to counter 600+ pokemon as well, except now you're limited to using those 60 power moves...
  14. Double Team and Minimize:Broken or Uncompetitive?

It is most definitely broken and despite what people think, there is no good way of countering it. The best thing you can do if your opponent gets a DT is to just keep on attacking and hope that your now 75 acc moves don't miss. You can list all the nevermiss moves, haze, unaware all you want...
  15. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

the cool thing about Sableye is that if you can't at least OHKO him with a physical attack or 2HKO with special attacks, he's going to stall you out by Recovering while you die from status, unless you're a Magic Guard pokemon or Magic Bounce pokemon or Heatran. OHKOing him isn't THAT easy.
  16. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

The advantage that Sableye has over Jellicent when it comes to spin blocking and stall breaking with Wow+Taunt+Recover is that it fares better against offensive teams because it can usually go first. Jellicent being slow as dirt means that it'll WoW or Recover after the enemy pokemon attacks...
  17. Official OU Round 5 Non-Pokemon Suspect Voting

Sand Stream: Do not ban Drought: Do not ban Drizzle: Do not ban Snow Warning: Do not ban Baton Pass: Do not ban
  18. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Excadrill can't have EQ/SD/Rock Slide/Return/X-Scissor/Rapid Spin/etc. all on the same set, people. Almost every Excadrill uses EQ/SD/Rock Slide, but depending on the last move it uses, it will have a good number of checks/counters.
  19. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

So I'm just going to throw this out there cause it seems nobody has brought it up. If it has been brought up before and I didn't notice it, my bad. Neutral nature LO HP Ice on Excadrill can 2HKO Gliscor. But I still don't think Excadrill should be banned. Yes, the metagame is centralized on...
  20. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Rain Dance teams weren't unheard of in Gen4, so yeah. With Sun getting more Chlorophyll pokemon and other abusers, it's not unlikely to see a team running Sunny Day as well for those pokemon, if Drizzle/Drought were to get banned. It would be practically guaranteed if Manaphy/Blaziken were...
