Not true. I needed to keep Shiftry as healthy as possible simply because it was faster than Persian, unlike Ninetales. If I stayed in to take the Fake Out, Shiftry would not be able to take another.. so if he then switched to Hypno and brought Persian for another round, the 2nd Fake Out would finish Shiftry. Ninetales had to be sacrificed either way, for the last Fake Out or the one before. She wouldn't fair well against Persian as my last pokemon because then Persian could just sleep her.
