Well then, let's get this fight off the ground! XVI leads with Slashe while rickheg leads with Ziggy!

Both Pokemon are indeed sent into battle in this man-made crater, but something is amiss right from the get go. As soon as Slashe loses connection with the energy of the Pokeball and comes into full-fledged existence, it goes barreling after Ziggy, still barely emerging from its own respective capture device, with a devious grin and claws poised. With uncanny speed, Slashe begins to strike with Fake Out, but moments before the blow is struck, Ziggy lets out a low growl and bares her fangs, putting the fear of death in Slashe's heart, and lowering the overall effectiveness of his blow. Still, the shock of being attacked so soon, and from a source with such blinding agility
leaves Ziggy flinching, and unable to draw the flames for her attack!

Pleased with its work, and wanting to revel in the moment as long as possible, Slashe begins dancing and cheering for itself, culminating in the most brutally effective Taunt possible after such a spectacle. Ziggy becomes clearly annoyed with the senseless flaunting and begins building a blue flame in its mouth. But, as is so often the case in nature, pretty blue fire is much more difficult to summon up when you lack focus, and the flame fizzles out before it ever has a chance to be weaponized, much to Slashe's amusement.

With Ziggy confused and annoyed at the loss of her burning flames from the last action, Slashe once again begins to move, running towards Ziggy with intensity before shocking everyone by disappearing into thin air. Is Slashe a ninja? Did he reach 88 MPH and blaze onward into the future? Whatever the case, Slashe struck an instant later as an invisible force with Faint Attack, driving its claws into Ziggy's back as it reappeared with a mischievous grin. But, the smile would not last long, as Ziggy built up a small fire in her mouth. Turning around with a short hop, the enraged Ziggy began to spin the flames around herself before smashing into Slashe, her Flame Wheel critically wounding Slashe as his light body was thrown into the gates at the top of the dig site before tumbling back down in the loose dirt all the way to the bottom of the battle site.

Slashe played it cool this round with lots of devious stunts, costing Ziggy two actions this round with its trickery. But in the end, Ziggy was able to channel this anger into the mother of all Flame Wheels when it counted. Will Slashe be able to keep up under Ziggy's intimidation, and will Ziggy be able to hold its own against Slashe's ludicrous speed stat? Stay tuned.
