Ever been unsure about whether a Pokémon is spelled correctly? Never quite adjusted to Griseous since the Platinum Orb thing? Like having to think less because a computer can do it for you? If you answered yes to any of those then should be somewhat handy.
Basically I've made a persdict.dat (the file which firefox uses to store your "add to dictionary" words) with everything Pokémony which you will want (or at least a vast majority of it).
- Download the file attached.
- Go to Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Open Containing Folder from the Firefox menu.
- Close Firefox and all addons (e.g. Chatzilla).
- Step 2 should have opened a folder. Place the unzipped persdict.dat file (short for personal dictionary) here, replacing your current one if there is one (you could open your current and merge if you want, but beware as many text editors don't seem to get on well with it).
- Start Firefox and test.
EDIT: If you want to use this on chrome, the location/name for the text file on various OSes is
here.
This file will add all standard Pokemon names to your spellchecker, they will not be flagged up as misspelled. They will not show up when you right click a incorrectly spelled word, but at least you'll know which have wrong spellings (and not have a wall of red underlined text whenever you try spellchecking anything). If anyone wants to adapt this for other browsers that would be cool, I or another mod (no, wait. a mod. need to get accustomed to not being one.) can attach it to this post, add instructions, and give credit.
(and the plurals)
And this'll probably be my last contribution to C&C for the foreseeable future. For those who don't have IS access or don't read the LOA thread so missed my leaving post, goodbye. Good luck with everything. And, one bit of advise. Always know why you're sticking around. Be it because you think what you're making will actually be helpful, whether you enjoy what you are doing, or simply want the respect of your peers (i.e. shiny badges). It's when you don't know that things get messy.
Oh, and always give the
clueless idiot a chance. One day they may be modding you. A gentle poke in the right direction is all most people need.
