A physically based Tyranitar designed to break down stalls, and cause massive damage to offensive teams if given the chance. The crux of this set is Focus Punch, allowing Tyranitar to deal massive damage to anything resistant to its stabs. Alongside Focus Punch, Crunch has fantastic coverage in ubers hitting notable targets such as Mewtwo, Lugia, the Giratinas and Lati@s for super effective damage. The hardest thing for this set to do, however is actually set up a Substitute. Toxic is notable as this Tyranitar cannot muscle through any Groudon. Fire Blast provides coverage against Skarmory and Ferrothorn should sand be the present weather, and is boosted by the sun Groudon brings. Tyranitar should run a Lonely Nature to preserve Tyranitar's Special Attack and Special Defense as most Physical attacks in Ubers will generally maim Tyranitar anyway, while it may be able to set up on some weaker special attacks. The speed was once upon a time used to beat Scizors and slap them with Fire Blast before they U-Turned out.

I've tried it a few times. Get it in on Chansey and go to town. Take your pick and owning Lugias, Giratinas, and Ghost Arceus, or arrogant steels. It can win against Bulk Up Dialga if Dialga attempts to Rest off damage, or Bulk Up again (if it switched into spikes at least). Fire Blast is really the lesser option of the two, but it does hit Groudon slightly harder than Focus Punch even without investment if Lonely is chosen. It kinda just rolls over and dies against offensive teams though. It isn't outclassed by Sub/Punch Palkia because TTar can make 101 Subs, and isn't walled by Lugia.
