IIRC, I think they can advance the frame even off screen, especially true for spirtomb in my exp.

No, i've just did 9 steps in the grass, with a Repel
If you can try 4 flips then sweet scent, as they will leave basically no room for error ie npc or some weird advancemnt.

Does Sweet Scent advance the frame? Or the advance (i guess 1) is already counted when the Initial Frame for Sweet Scent in the grass is 2?
SS advance the frame 1 but if you already included then dont worry.
Advance= target-#roam-2(1 for mon frame + 1 for sweet scent)
