Here, attacks operate off of their own merit, typing, and very little else--even the Pokemons' power doesn't come into play! Lou's Dratini squares off with TRG's Staryu; they trade blows to begin the match, both dealing a notable (but not particularly painful) amount of damage with Thunderbolt and Ice Beam, respectively. Staryu attempts to set up Light Screen, but to no avail; its power is quickly drained into the arena's stocks of Bravery. Dratini retaliates with another Thunderbolt; although some power is drained by the Crystal World, it's still a resounding blow. Dratini dodges another Thunderbolt from Staryu to conclude the round, but the winner is far from certain...
