<p>Heracross has access to Swords Dance which can be used along with a status Orb to beat most of its usual, however, this shortens Heracross's longevity and doesn't do its middling Speed any favors. A RestTalk set can be used as it activates Guts and prevents the opponent from putting a teammate to sleep, thanks to Sleep Clause; however, this set is quite unreliable and needs a lot of team support to work properly.</p>

[Checks and Counters]

<p>Despite all of its power, Heracross cannot beat everything in UU. Gligar for example, shrugs off at Heracross attacks and nullifies any damage taken with Roost. Heracross can't do much to bulky Ghost-types such as Cofagrigus and Dusclops, as they are immune to Close Combat and resist Megahorn. Zapdos, like the aforementioned Ghost-types, can also easily tank both of Heracross's STAB moves, and only fears Stone Edge. Fast Choice Scarf users such as Victini and Darmanitan can outspeed and OHKO Heracross with their Fire-type STAB moves.</p>

[Unreleased]

<p>Heracross's Dream Word ability, Moxie, is a much better option for the Choice Scarf set, as it lets Heracross boost its Attack while having a respectable Speed. However, Heracross benefits more from Guts on all the other sets.</p>
