"Overdrive" is just what they call it when the engines are on. It's cosmetic in Black and White.
That's right. In
Black and White. Reshiram and Zekrom both have "Overdrive" as well, and it's just when they have highlights on their pictures (Red for Reshiram, Blue for Zekrom).
So yeah. It does nothing.
