Welcome to the Ubers Teambuilding thread You may have seen this thread in other forums, but this is the Ubers edition, and Ubers is the coolest metagame! You can use any of the released Pokemon in it, so this team should be full of awesome Pokemon and sets. Please read the paragraphs below if you are new to this project:

The Ubers tier gives you the ability to use the strongest Pokemon, the ones that are banned in standard play. Thus, many standard players might not have any idea of what to use in this tier, as they have minimal experience with Pokemon such as Arceus. This thread is designed to show new players the best Pokemon in the tier, and what sets they use. Each Pokemon will also be broken down into a role, such as Special Wall, Rapid Spinner, Physical Wall, Late-game Cleaner, Tank, Hazard User, and Spinblocker. Players can then click the Show buttons to show the Pokemon in that category, and then choose an appropriate Pokemon for their team. Experienced Ubers players may post sets that they like to use and what's good in the metagame. If you're inexperienced, though, don't be afraid to post, but do make sure that your set makes sense! If you really don't have any experience at all, you may request for a Pokemon to have a set or ask questions about existing sets.

The second part of this project includes discussing the sets posted down below and in the OP. You are all encouraged to comment on each set that is posted, whether you disagree with something or agree and want a move or something added. Furthermore, if you disagree or have something to add to a set that is already in the OP, you can rewrite it or comment on it, and the community will discuss your changes! If you have a good set that you like, post it here and follow the outline. If your set is not good, it will not go in this post and you will not receive points for it. Don't be offended if your set doesn't goes in this section, as we'll explain why! This is a learning experience, so it is ok to try new things. However, please refrain from posting gimmicks, as those belong in the Project Ubers 2.0 thread!

Stuff to use: Special Walls [SET] Deoxys-D @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 168 SDef / 88 Spd Calm Nature - Taunt - Spikes - Toxic - Recover Role: Special Wall, Hazard User What it does: Capable of switching into anything but LO sun boosted fire blasts, and SETTING UP on mewtwo, this set is extremely useful. It can not only taunt other hazard layers, but it can maintain it's health reliably while doing so. On any weather type team but sun, this set is extremely effective at beating all offensive mewtwo. The EVs allow you to take every attack bar the aforementioned Fire blast in the sun extremely well, with Ice beam from standard Offensive mewtwo mustering a massive 27 to 31% damage. The special bulk investment allows you to recover stall mewtwo, even after a CM. This set can also perform decently as a stallbreaker, preventing recovery and support moves while wearing down pokemon through passive damage. If one can wear down, or packs a great counter to Forretress, Tentacruel, Excadrill and their respective hazards, stall teams can usually be beaten. Good Teammates: Things that take on Forretress, Tentacruel and Excadrill well are fantastic teammates. Spin Blockers can usually do this well, Gira-a in particular. But one must also be equipped to take on the hazards they lay, in particular toxic spikes from Tentacruel and Forretress. Teammates that can sponge strong Water, Dark, Bug and Dragon attacks are also great, as many players will attempt to break through Deo-d with these types of attacks. What counters it: All of the aforementioned spinners can put you on the back foot. Genesect is also very threating, though you can recover through it's u turn and lose an average of 3-8% hp in any weather but sand. Darkrai is also very dangerous, as you must predict its next move, as any of its sets can put immediately threaten you in multiple ways. By syrim [SET] Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 252 HP / 216 SDef / 40 Spd Calm Nature - Thunder - Iron Head - Wish - Stealth Rock Role: Special Wall, Hazard Layer What it does: In the rain, this is the single best mewtwo counter to exist. The moveset is sub-standard, but as a purpose. In checking mewtwo, you will have at least three chances to thunder, making a paralysis almost certain. It also allows you to beat substitute mons such as lugia, check ho-oh, and deal great damage to kyogre, a usual threat. In payment you lose the ability to paralyze ground types, who you can almost never dent anyways, and become more dependent on the weather, which can be troublesome, but rain must be up for you to be certain of accomplishing your job anyways. Stealth rock has ample opportunities to set up, by virtue of your great typing and paralyzing the opposition. Good Teammates: Kyogre is the single best teammate for this set, as rain is mandatory for it to function. Pokemon like gliscor that can take strong Physical attacks, and pokemon that can wall special water attacks such as Grass Arceus are also great teammates. Both are able to status troublesome pokemon as well. What counters it: Excadrill, Groudon, and many other ground types make excellent counters to this set. Groudon in particular removes the weather neccesary for a succesful completion of jirachi's role, while excadrill can remove the hazards you are likely using with this set. Both can OHKO you obviously. By syrim [SET] Arceus-Dark @ Dread Plate Trait: Multitype EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spe Calm Nature - Payback - Flamethrower - Recover - Toxic Role: Special Wall What it does: This set has one simple claim to fame, being able to counter Fire Blast Mewtwo in the sun, with a hazard being up, which differentiates it from Defensive Ho-oh. Payback KOs Offensive Mewtwo easily after one attack, and allows you to free up a moveslot in comparion to psychic arceus. The use of Flamethrower allows you to take advantage of your intended weather and keep the usual steel type suspects from setting up against you, like ferrothorn and forretress. Toxic allows you to put ho-oh out of useful commision, which would otherwise be a huge threat. Good Teammates: This set can really perform with nearly any teammates, though it is most likely to be on sun. Pokes capable of removing hazards are great teammates, as this sets ability to check mewtwo can be tenuous. Tentacruel in particular has good synergy. What counters it: Strong fighting attacks can break through Darkceus, from threatening mons like terrakion, who resists your moveset as well. Kyogre variants, particularly rest talk ones, are great checks for this set. They bring rain that allows things like skarmory to set up on you, as well as being slower and thus taking pitiful damage from any attacks. Heatran also completely walls you. By syrim Physical Walls [SET] Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spd Impish Nature - Rest - Sleep Talk - Dragon Tail - Roar Role: Spinblocker, Support, Physical Wall What it does: This beast walls Groudon completely and can phaze it out with Dragon Tail. It can also stop some setup sweepers. Roar stops Substitute users and doesn't have accuracy issues like Dragon Tail. However, the real fun comes in when you Rest. You can no longer be affected by Status and you heal up. Plus, you can use Sleep Talk, which has 63% chance of phazing the opponent AND it bypasses the -6 priority of Roar and Dragon Tail. Good Teammates: Hazard support is pretty much mandatory, since it makes it all the harder for your opponent to deal with. Dialga, Ferrothorn, and Tentacruel are all good choices. Anything that enjoys a good way to deal with Groudon or Excadrill, such as Kyogre or Terrakion, will be a good teammate as well. What counters it: Switching in is far from easy when Giratina-O can phaze you with ease. However, if you can get one in safely or through the phazing effect, a Special Sweeper can deal massive damage to Giratina-O, especially if it was an Ice or Dragon attack. Additional Info: I have used Giratina-A's RestTalk set, albeit much less than this set, but I can tell you that this set has some distinct advantages over Giratina-A's Leftovers and better bulk. First off, Levitate is a boon for Giratina-O since it makes Groudon and some Excadrill all the more annoyed. In addition, many people don't expect this sort of set from Giratina-O. They typically would expect a Mixed set or a SubCM set. While they won't be too surprised by Dragon Tail since it's a viable option for the mixed set, the other moves will probably surprise them when they try to set up a Substitute for Ho-oh or something. By ThisMysteriousGuy Rapid Spinners [SET] Excadrill (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Mold Breaker EVs: 96 HP / 136 Atk / 200 SDef / 76 Spd Adamant Nature - Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Rapid Spin - Swords Dance / Rock slide Role: Rapid Spinner What it does: This is a Pokemon with a very specific role to fulfill in Rain teams, which are arguably the easiest team archetype to set up hazards against. The special defense EVs allow it to check standard Dialga in the rain, and are much more efficent than HP evs. The attack hits a bonus number, as well as letting it beat max HP gira-o after two switch ins to Stealth Rock. The inclusion of Stealth rock allows this set to take advantage of turns against pokemon like Defensive gira-a, and allows it to contribute to the hazard wear that will eventually let it break through with EQ. The choice between Swords Dance and Rock slide is really based on your intended purpose. If you are only using exca to spin, then SD is the better option. It can remove prediction against slower teams, and actually stallbreak quite well. It also lets it beat threats like dark/steel arceus. Rock slide really just lets you threaten ho-oh and rayquaza, but you can easily spin against them, if you carry dedicated checks. Good Teammates: Kyogre is mandatory. Bulky variants in particular are able to switch into common threats, like Groudon, Ho-oh dependent on your moveset, and even strong physical attackers like Terrakion. The synergy between the two is also great, as Exca can beat dialga, zekrom and many other threats to bulky kyogre. Pokemon that can sponge strong special Water attacks are also great. Grass Arceus and Latias in particular have excellent defensive synergy. What counters it: Gira-a is the single best check to this set. It can force it out very easily. Hazards are very necessary to have a chance at pushing past it. Lots of them. By syrim [SET] Excadrill (M) @ Air Balloon / Life Orb Trait: Sand Rush EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Earthquake - Iron Head - Rapid Spin Role: Rapid Spinner What it does: A more offensive version of Excadrill obviously meant to be used in Sand. The use of Air Balloon and Iron head allow you to gain massive pressure against the now popular Sub Shuffling Gira-o, but Life orb is better for defensive Gira-a, though you will need massive hazard support. Air balloon also lets you get spins off against things that normally force you out, like Groudon lacking a fire move. All in all either item choice carries advantages purely directed towards removing entry hazards. Good Teammates: Sand is necessary, allowing you to outspeed and heavily damage both offensive threats and potential spin blockers. TTar and Hippowdon are both great choices, Hippo possesing great physically defensive synergy, and bringing the fantastic ability to switch into groudon, while ttar can help remove spin blockers and check many threatening special threats, many more dangerous overall, but not to excadrill in particular. What counters it: Defensive Gira-a is the only full stop to this set, if you keep in mind that spinning is its main goal. It also requires massive hazard support to be able to push through this bulwark of a ghost type. Scarf kyogre and rayquaza are very capable of stopping your sweep, though they cannot switch in easily. By syrim [SET] Kabutops (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature / Jolly - Waterfall - Rapid Spin / Aqua Jet - Low Kick - Stone Edge Role: Offensive Rapid Spinner, Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Kabutops has excellent coverage, and can revenge kill a multitude of threats with only SR down - Darkrai, Kyurem-W, Mewtwo (after one round of LO), Arceus (needs a biiit more residual damage) - in addition it is an excellent cleaner as Water, Rock, Fighting coverage is excellent, and if your opponents team is in the around 55-65% range you can orchestrate a clean sweep. In addition Kabutops also has goddamn Rapid Spin, as if it wasn't good enough already. Adamant gives it some much-needed power, but without Jolly you fail to outspeed Choice Scarf Terrakion. If you have another spinner on your team, which is perfectly understandable, since Kabutops is the only spinner weak to Toxic Spikes, Aqua Jet can be run for some nice priority and to bypass Terrakion without using a Jolly Nature. Good Teammates: Kyogre, duh. Gliscor, to switch into fighting / ground / electric attacks. Grass Arceus, comes in safely on the special attacks that threaten Kabutops. Genesect's U-Turn can rack up momentum, hazard damage, and bring in Kabutops for free. What counters it: Groudon, takes like 30-35% from Waterfall and Earthquake OHKOes. Giratina-A, takes pittance from basically everything and spinblocks to boot. Gastrodon, resists or is immune to Kabutops' STABs and doesn't care too much about Low Kick. Grass Arceus, needs to be below 50% HP for Kabutops to take it down. By syrim [SET] Tentacruel @ Leftovers Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 252 HP / 16 Spd / 240 SDef Calm Nature - Protect - Rapid Spin - Scald - Toxic Spikes Role: Hazard User, Rapid Spinner What it does: Thanks to great Special Defense, Tentacruel doesn't have much of a hard time coming in. On a rain team, Tentacruel is a great Pokemon to use. Even though it lacks reliable recovery, Rain Dish and Leftovers alongside Protect and great Special Bulk can make up for it. Tentacruel also absorbs Toxic Spikes on your side of the field, which could otherwise cripple your team, and can lay them on the opponent's side of the field. Tentacruel, if it manages to find an opportunity, can also use Rapid Spin to get rid of all the hazards on your side of the field. Being able to do a good deal of things well, Tentacruel is a good choice for rain teams or really any team when looking for a hazard layer or Spinner. Good Teammates: Kyogre is a fantastic choice, though I have seen some teams use it well with Groudon. Other hazard layers such as Dialga and Ferrothorn can be used alongside it and phazers such as Dialga and Giratina are nice choices to rack up entry hazard damage to mess with switch-ins. What counters it: Groudon takes the Rain away and KOs with Earthquake, Mewtwo KOs with Psystrike, Zekrom also KOs with Bolt Strike, basically any strong physical attacker can defeat Tentacruel By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Qwilfish (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 Spd Jolly Nature - Toxic Spikes / Waterfall - Spikes - Taunt - Destiny Bond / Explosion Role: Hazard User What it does: Qwilfish's movepool combined with its abilities allow it to become an extremely unique hazard user. Its access to Toxic Spikes and Spikes along with the ability to outspeed virtually everything with little investment thanks to Swift Swim allow it to quickly setup a quick layer or two and then Destiny Bond or Explode on something random and kill it. Its no slouch offensively either, Waterfall hits users of Magic Bounce pretty hard and allows it to revenge kill to an extent, and with more Ubers having lower Defense then Special Defense you'd be surprised at the number of things going down to it. However, the sheer offensive threat that is Qwilfish often allows you to bluff your attacking move, and use it as to setup extra hazards! What REALLY distinguishes Qwilfish though, is Taunt. Pokemon that would normally be able to setup on Qwilfish while it sets up on them, like Ferrothorn, find themselves able to do nothing against Qwilfish but fire at best a weak move. Qwilfish's decent investment in bulk allows it to retain enough longevity to take advantage of these "free turns" and setup a layer or two of more hazards. To give an example of its bulk, Ferrothorn's Power Whip now fails to 2HKO Qwilfish, which gives Qwilfish enough time to setup hazards and Destiny Bond. The combination of Taunt and Destiny Bond alone is enough to start immense mindgames in an enemy's head, potentially forcing switches, which again allows for nothing but more time to lay down Spikes. Good Teammates: Kyogre's Drizzle allows Qwilfish to use Swift Swim making it basically essential to this fat fishes success. While Qwilfish CAN setup hazards, that doesn't mean it can spinblock as well. Hence, a spin blocker is a necessity for any team trying to successfully utilize this fish. While Qwilfish doesn't have any true preference for which spin blocker it is paired up with, there is one Pokemon that particularly enjoys Qwilfish's support, Giratina-a. Giratina-a's worst enemy, Forretress, infamous for laying up hazards against this spin blocker cannot do anything to Giratina after its been Taunted. Additionally, since Giratina-a is not much more then a big wall that phazes, it appreciates the hazards laid by Qwilfish to increase the damage it does with its phazing. What counters it: Tyranitar, Groudon, and Forretress all annoy Qwilfish. The former two Pokemon get rid of Qwilfish's rain and are able to OHKO it should its Focus Sash not be intact, but both must beware of fast versions using Destiny Bond. Forretress is the exception, and thanks to its access to Rapid Spin, it can boast the ability to undo what Qwilfish setup over quite a few turns. Tentacruel can do a similar job, but it must be wary that the only hazards it can lay get absorbed by Qwilfish when it switches in. While it certainly is difficult to stop Qwilfish from doing its job, its not hard at all to kill it. Strong STAB attacks in general from Ubers are able to OHKO Qwilfish should its sash not be in tact. If your going to focus solely on ridding Qwilfish of the match and not prevent it from doing its job, you can use Rayquaza. Rayquaza's access to Air Lock allows it to outspeed Qwilfish 100% of the time and quickly OHKO it before it has a chance to respond. Additional Info: Poison Jab can be used over Waterfall, but the fact that Xatu and Forretress take little from the move removes a lot of its merit. Its ability to hit Latias and Latios for a very nice chunk of damage does render it a use though. By Mr.lol [SET] Deoxys-S (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Pressure EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk) - Spikes - Stealth Rock / Taunt / Magic Coat - Shadow Ball / Ice Beam - Hidden Power Fire / ExtremeSpeed Role: Hazard User What it does: Deoxys-S is the fastest unboosted Pokemon in the game, with an elite speed tier that lets it gain the edge on even Scarfed Base 100s. This elitist Speed Tier combined with mediocre bulk and attacking stats allow it to become the fastest user of Spikes and Stealth Rock in the game. This is best taken advantage of with a Focus Sash and by placing Deoxys-S in the lead slot of a team to have it basically guarantee at least two layers of entry hazards on the enemy's field. This makes it a great candidate for any offensively-inclined team looking for a suicide lead to setup hazards. Good Teammates: Since Deoxys-S is a suicide lead that lacks a Ghost-typing, it really appreciates spin blocker support from Ghost Arceus, Giratina-a, or Giratina-o. Aside that it really doesn't need any support, since its job is too support the team, not itself. Hard, powerful sweepers that appreciate entry hazards like Dragon Dance Rayquaza or Shell Smash Cloyster appreciate the hazards Deoxys-S can lay down, as they can use the passive damage to secure OHKOes on Pokemon that they would normally find annoying. For example, 252 HP Lugia is OHKOed by Mixed Dragon Dance Rayquaza's Draco Meteor after Stealth Rock damage, a support which Deoxys-S just happens to provide. What counters it: Deoxys-S's suffers from a severe four-moveslot syndrome, so depending on what moves it isn't using, Pokemon can simply waltz in and wall Deoxys-S. If Deoxys-S is not utilizing Shadow Ball, users of the Magic Bounce ability-- Espeon and Xatu-- will be able to waltz in and prevent Deoxys-S from ever setting a hazard on the floor. Spinners are a similar nuisance to Deoxys-S, as its inability to spin block prevents Deoxys-S's hard earned hazards from staying on the field. Forretress is notable for being able to completely obliterate Deoxys-S lacking Hidden Power Fire. Kabutops deserves a special mention from all spinners in the Uber tier as it is likely the only one that doesn't care about what moves Deoxys-S is using, and can easily attack Deoxys-S on the first turn to break its sash and kill it the next with Rapid Spin, removing any hazards and a Pokemon from the field. While Deoxys-S is fast, its support moves do not get priority, meaning it is victim to being punished by Whimsicott and Tornadus-T utilizing Taunt if it does not run Magic Coat. If your main goal is simply to limit the amount of hazards Deoxys-S sets up and are more eager to rid it from the match then prevent it from setting up then you can turn to the priority users in the Uber tier. Rayquaza, Giratina-O, and Arceus are all capable of 2HKOing Deoxys-S with their priority moves-- Shadow Sneak and ExtremeSpeed, thus preventing Deoxys-S from laying more then a single hazard on the field. Additional Info: As mentioned earlier, Deoxys-S severely suffers from the four moveslot syndrome, and depending on what moves it doesn't run, it can be beat by another Pokemon. Deoxys-S needs Shadow Ball to stand a chance against the users of Magic Bounce, but forgoing Hidden Power Fire for Shadow Ball means that it will struggle against enemy Forretress. Losing access to Taunt makes Deoxys-S may now become setup bait, but losing access to Ice Beam prevents it from hitting Tornadus, Whimsicott, and Thundurus for a good amount of damage. ExtremeSpeed may seem wierd on such a fast Pokemon, but putting it on Deoxys-S allows it to beat enemy Deoxys-A 100% of the time. Also, it is a great switch in to Choice Scarf Palkia but beware if your opponent uses Fire Blast. Leech Seed helps to gain some recovery and pile up the residual damage on the opponent. Protect is if you want to either scout or stall, but it should only really be used in conjunction with Leech Seed. Stealth Rock is there if your team needs it and the combination of Spikes, Leech Seed and Stealth Rock is legal now. Good Teammates: Good teammates are pokemon who have great offensive pressure who appreciate the residual damage that Ferrothorn provides. Dragon Dance Rayquaza, Arceus formes, and Kyogre are examples. Lugia can phase out opponents with its huge bulk while gaining some recovery from Leech Seed. A pokemon that can sponge hits from fire or fighting moves is helpful. Giratina is possibly the best spinblocker to help annoy people who want those hazards off. What counters it: Many rapid spinners can just switch in and remove your hazards. Excadrill, Tentacruel and Forretress are the common spinners. Darkrai can put anything to sleep with a Dark Void. Groudon may carry Fire Blast, but that is not as common. Still can happen though. By ooh_shiny [SET] Dialga @ Life Orb Trait: Pressure EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe Modest Nature - Stealth Rock - Draco Meteor - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere / Earth Power - Thunder / Dragon Pulse Role: Hazard User, Lure What it does: This Dialga is probably the reason why Groudon are scared to stay in and face Dialga 0_0, STAB Draco Meteor when powered by Life Orb decimitates standard Support Groudon, OHKOing almost all the time. Well with this much power and the ability to switch attacks, Dialga will be causing a good number of switches, therefore allowing it to easily get up Stealth Rocks. No spinner or Magic Bounce user wants to stay in and confront this beast, as all that do will be swiftly knocked aside with a Draco Meteor, or if your Forretress, a Fire Blast. Good Teammates: Tyranitar is a fantastic partners for two reasons. One, it capitalizes off of Groudon's disappearance and can setup his own weather. Two, he can deal with the two of the leads Dialga has trouble with, Deoxys-S leads and Darkrai leads. Kyogre also is a decent partner, it can switch in after the enemy Groudon has died and setup rain which allows plenty of Swift Swimmers to ready themselves for a sweep. What counters it: Very little Pokemon can both beat Dialga and stop it from setting up Stealth Rock. Fist Plate Arceus can lead against Dialga and OHKO it with a super-effective Judgment, preventing it from doing anything in the match. Deoxys-a can do a similar job, OHKOing with a strong Super Power and it can use its offenses to even setup Stealth Rock after it has taken Dialga out, rendering it useless. Deoxys-S can Taunt Dialga to prevent it from setting up Stealth Rock and can live a Draco Meteor thanks to its Focus Sash and proceed to setup Stealth Rock. It will not, however, be able to kill Dialga. It can only neuter its leading capabilities and remove any surprise factor, preventing the potential loss of any Pokemon. Additional Info: The Modest nature on Dialga lets it get the highest chance possible to OHKO 252 HP Groudon, but a Timid nature is also viable simply because it gives Dialga the best chance it has to outspeed Groudon and allows it to outspeed certain Rayquaza variants. The EVs are all invested in Speed to give Dialga the highest chance to outspeed Groudon, however if you still want to add more bulk, you can subtract Speed EVs to throw them into HP, this isn't reccomended however is this Dialga is not meant to stay alive for long, more of act as a suicide lead that helps control the weather. The slashes on the moves may again seem awkward by they also have their purpose. Dragon Pulse allows you to kill off stuff weak to Dragon moves like Palkia and Rayquaza while retaining the ability to randomly nuke something with a Draco Meteor. Thunder on the other hand provides great coverage with Dragon Pulse and can be used to hit Kyogre, Ho-oh, and Lugia hard without having to resort to Draco Meteor. Fire Blast, Aura Sphere, and Earth Power are all moves for hitting Steel-types. Go with Fire Blast if you hate Forretress and Ferrothorn with a passion and Earth Power if you want to actually hurt Heatran. Aura Sphere is the hybrid of the two, but keep in mind Dialga's lessened bulk really means it likes to keep its OHKOes more then 2HKO everything, so in this case, the hybrid is actually an option generally inferior to the others. By Mr.lol [SET] Dialga @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 52 SAtk / 200 SDef Modest Nature - Stealth Rock - Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere - Dragon Tail / Roar / Thunder Role: Hazard User, Support What it does: Dialga's unique resistances and typing allowing it to become an exceptionally talented user of Stealth Rock. Thanks to STAB Draco Meteor still boasting the ability to rip threats apart, without too much investment, Dialga can run a good bit of Special Defense investment, allowing it to setup Stealth Rocks even on threats like Choice Specs Kyogre or Choice Scarf Palkia. With its wide movepool, Dialga gains the ability to threaten every other user of Stealth Rock. Fire Blast allows Dialga to roast Ferrothorn, Forretress, Excadrill, and Genesect in the Sun. Aura Sphere, while not nearly as powerful, is a more accurate and suitable alternative as unlike its counterpart, it is not reliant on weather and has a lot more PP. Dragon Tail and Roar allow Dialga to abuse its bulk and force switches. Thunder, however, gives Dialga a strong move to hit enemy Kyogre with, while also providing perfect, neutral coverage when used with Fire Blast or Aura Sphere. Good Teammates: Since this Dialga is meant to support a team, it doesn't need too much support. It does, however, appreciate a way to get past the only thing that can stop this Dragon from performing its job, Offensive Stealth Rock Groudon. Grass Arceus is easily capable of stopping this Groudon in its track with a powerful STAB Judgment or Grass Knot. Dialga also appreciates some kind of spin blocker support so that the Stealth Rocks it sets up don't go to waste. Giratina-O can easily provide this support and it too is capable of annoying any Groudon variant with its powerful STAB Draco Meteors. What counters it: Offensive variants of Groudon and Xatu annoy this Dialga more then anything else. Groudon can OHKO Dialga before it can move, while Xatu can reflect the Stealth Rocks Dialga uses, and take advantage of Dialga to setup Light Screen and Reflect. Both must be wary of Draco Meteor though, as it OHKOes Xatu and 2HKOes Groudon. The Deoxys formes are also capable of annoying Dialga with Taunt and Superpower, but none of them can absorb a Draco Meteor, and all of them lose if they get hit by Dragon Tail as they Taunt. By Mr.lol Wallbreakers [SET] Kyurem-White @ Choice Specs Trait: Turboblaze EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP Timid Nature - Ice Beam - Fusion Flare - Draco Meteor - Focus Blast Role: Special Sweeper, Wallbreaker What it does: Can you say "powerhouse?". Such a powerful threat. A base 170 SpA is already astronomical, only surpassed by Deoxys-A. However, slapping Choice Specs on top of that pushes it into "now that's just plain stupid territory. STAB Specs Ice Beam is not to be screwed around with, as it hits most of the powerful Dragons in Ubers for SE damage, only lacking coverage on fellow Kyurem-W and Palkia. As such, even neutral hits are very powerful, as Ice Beam hits for 75% - 89% on 4/0 Palkia, which is a guarenteed OHKO on Palkia after SR and Spikes. Fusion Flare gets the nice coverage on things like Ferrothorn or Forretress which could otherwise take a hit, as well as surprising Genesect trying to switch in. Simply put, Ice Beam and Fusion Flare can easily dominate many threats, especially backed up by Specs. In fact, these two moves alone could make a solid moveset. However, Draco Meteor is another very useful move, as sometimes you need the power to break through some threats. Only use Draco Meteor if you want power (taking out a low-health Chansey, for example) and not if you plan to sweep. Focus Blast is the last move, as it gives Kyurem-W an option to fight Heatran, which would otherwise wall this set. Good Teammates: Specs Kyurem-W is a fantastic standalone fighter, as its moves have such crazy standalone coverage. The blobs can be an issue, though, so a powerhouse physical poke is a big help. Of course, Ho-Oh is my #1 pick for physical attackers, as STAB Brave Birds will do a lot to Chanseys and Blisseys that think they have a safe switch. Ho-Oh is also a good switch into Fighting-type attacks aimed at Kyurem-W, as well as Steel type attacks. However, these two do share big rock weaknesses, which already makes your team vulnerable to Terrakion. Groudon can fix this problem, as defensive Groudon takes a paltry amount from either of Terrakion's STABs, as well as providing sun for Kyurem's Fusion Flare. What counters it: Unless you pack Chansey or Blissey, good luck switching into this guy. Those two are two of the few pokes which can hope to face Kyurem-W, as those two can take on Kyurem, even though Specs Focus Blasts will certainly hurt. Tyranitar and Rock Arceus can also take on Kyurem-W, even though Tyranitar requires you to not be locked into Focus Blast as that OHKOes. Ho-oh is another great check, as no moves are super effective and Ho-oh's gargantuan special bulk means it can easily take the hits (Thank you to Kebabe for reminding me on this one). Scarfed Dragons like Garchomp or opposing Kyurem-W can easily take out your Kyurem-W with powerful Dragon STAB. Plus, any Dragon with Base Speed over 95 can outspeed as Kyurem-W is kind of slow. Also, Fighting types like Terrakion can easily force out Kyurem-W with the threat of a Close Combat. However, most of these are just things that can force out Kyurem-W, as very few pokes can actually switch in provided you pick the correct move. Also, it is recommended you pack a spinner like Forretress, as losing 25% at every switch in is certainly not fun. By Phazon00 [SET] Kyogre @ Choice Specs Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spe Modest Nature - Hydro Pump / Surf - Water Spout - Thunder - Ice Beam Role: Wall Breaker What it does:By combining what is likely to be the most powerful move in the whole game, a great Special Attack base, an ability that increases the power and accuracy of most of its moves, and a power boost from Choice Specs, Choice Specs Kyogre has little if any trouble breaking down enemy walls and wreaking havoc in the metagame. Water Spout is the main reason for using this set, its insanely base power when boosted by rain and Choice Specs allows Kyogre to 2HKO almpst anything that doesn't resist it, and Chansey is no exception to this rule. Even Ferrothorn falters at the sight of the torrential wave, as it too is 2HKOed. While Kyogre may not be the fastest thing around at breaking walls, it is among, if not the most powerful wall breaker in the entire metagame. Good Teammates: This Kyogre enjoys hazard support and in general a way to get it in safely. It also is nice to provide spin support to Kyogre so that it can keep the power of its massive spout and spam it more later. Genesect can easily allow Kyogre to switch-in multiple times, and with its access to U-turn, it can also "check" the few things that can avoid being 2HKOed by the dreaded Spout. Tentacruel and Forretress make excellent candidates to provide hazards, and can additionally spin away stray Spikes that may lower the power of Kyogre's Spout. Lastly, Kyogre really appreciates team mates that can take advantage of the gaping hole it leaves in enemy walls. Kingdra, Kabutops, even Dragon Dance Latios, can take advantage of a weakened Chansey or Ferrothorn and proceed to start cleaning the enemy's team. What counters it: Very little can handle the great power of Kyogre's Water Spout, but thankfully, there are a few things that can switch-in and live to tell the tale. Palkia, Latias, Arceus-Grass, Gastrodon, and Shedinja, can all comfortable switch-in to Kyogre's Specs Water Spout and evade getting 2HKOed while retaliating with a strong STAB move to hinder Kyogre's offensive presence. As mentioned earlier, hazards are really a thorn to Kyogre, and should they be present, they will weaken Kyogre's Specs Spout, making Pokemon that were previously 2HKOed, like Ferrothorn or Chansey, 3HKOed, thus giving the aforementioned Pokemon a chance to cripple Kyogre with a Toxic, Thunder Wave, or Leech Seed. Additional Info: The boost in power Hydro Pump provides over Surf is really quite noticeable. The power boost allows Kyogre to have a very decent chance at 2HKOing Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rocks or a layer of Spikes. However, beware, as the chances of it hitting twice in succession is about the chance that you will get a Hypnosis to hit. By Mr.lol [SET] Dialga @ Choice Specs Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spe Modest Nature - Draco Meteor - Thunder - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere / Earth Power / Dragon Pulse - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere / Earth Power / Dragon Pulse Role: Wallbreaker, Lure What it does: Dialga's often known as your standard, go-to guy for a good Stealth Rock user, but that doesn't mean it can't take full advantage of that massive base 150 Special Attack stat everyone seems to overlook. By taking advantage of its unique variety of resistances, Dialga can find plenty of opportunities to waltz into the field and then proceed to smash an unsuspecting foe with a Draco Meteor that nothing but Chansey can comfortably stomach. If the enemy team lacks Chansey, his Lugia, Ho-oh, or even Support Arceus will not last long if they decide to switch into this guy. Good Teammates: Dialga can easily get rid of any and every wall that exists barring Chansey, so Pokemon that can get rid of Chansey are appreciated. Partnering Dialga up with Groudon is actually a great idea. Groudon can use his massive base 150 Attack stat to bounce plow right through the blob and it benefits from the removal or weakening of Lugia and it can then proceed to Swords Dance and Rock Polish to start a sweep. As an additional benefit, Dialga now can boost the power of its Fire Blasts, so that it will become an even harder for it to wall. What counters it: Chansey and Blissey annoy this set greatly as already mentioned, as they can just waltz in and thanks to their ridiculously high Defenses, shrug off a Draco Meteor. They must be careful not to have sustained too much damage earlier however, as they can be 2HKOed by Draco Meteor if they are at around 40% HP after entry hazards have taken effect. Additional Info: You probably are laughing at the slashitis in the set, wondering why you would use any move over there when you have the power of that awesome Draco Meteor combined with Thunder for coverage. Well the other moves are there for auxillary coverage, and are pretty useful if you can't sustain rain or another weather or unexpected threat happens to show up. Fire Blast and Aura Sphere allow Dialga to obliterate enemy Ferrothorn, Earth Power removes Heatran without fail, while Dragon Pulse is a more reliable STAB that may even help Dialga clean up weakened teams. Lastly, if running 4 Speed EVs is not your thing and you want to run a "speed creep" then you can remove EVs from HP and put them in Speed but be noted that Dialga's main niche is its ability to take advantage of its resistances and Defenses to come in frequently in the match. Removing HP EVs only hinders its ability to do that niche. By mr.lol [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Dragon Claw - ExtremeSpeed / Substitute - V-Create / Earthquake Role: Wallbreaker, Physical Sweeper What it does: This Rayquaza variant is as simple as using Extremekiller Arceus. Get up a Swords Dance and watch in amusement as the other team frants around to try to find something that doesn't get OHKOed by this. After a Swords Dance, Rayquaza gains the ability to 2HKO the entire metagame with the combination of one of its moves combined with ExtremeSpeed. Not even Lugia is spared of its wrath, as it is OHKOed by the raw power of a +2 V-Create after Stealth Rocks, and if you can't provide that, then you can always just ExtremeSpeed before nuking it. ExtremeSpeed in general will allow you to sweep some teams later on in a game, but using Substitute over it means you can scout what wants to revenge you and OHKO the revenge-killer, meaning you may have potentially not only broken a wall, but also KOed a revenge-killer. Congratz the enemy team is now weak to every sweeper in the game. Enjoy. Good Teammates: Rayquaza does not need any support but it appreciates Stealth Rock support so that it can OHKO Lugia without having to rely on ExtremeSpeed and Wobbufett since its ability and movepool allow it to help Rayquaza setup with ease. Since Rayquaza is a wall breaker, partners that can take advantage of the gaping holes are appreciated. Bisharp and Extremekiller Arceus in general can make a very annoying core of powerful priority with Rayquaza which they can use to smite the enemy and clean up the mess the other left behind. What counters it: Nothing can boast being able to counter this beast. Everything that Rayquaza faces can be taken down should it choose the right move, however, that does not mean it can't be revenged or "checked". Support Arceus can try to check Rayquaza by hitting it with an Ice Beam or Will-O-Wisp, suppressing its offensive presence for the remainder of the match. They must beware of Swords Dance boosted V-Creates though, as they will OHKO Arceus's hit neutrally by it. Choice Scarf Dialga and Genesect can revenge-kill Rayquaza thanks to their resistance to ExtremeSpeed but if Rayquaza chooses to use Substitute on the turn they come in, both will die accomplishing nothing but the fact that they broke Rayquaza's favorite Rhydon doll. Heatran and Skarmory can wall Rayquaza, depending on whether it decides to use Earthquake or V-Create. Heatran can also opt to use the Choice Scarf set to revenge-kill Rayquaza, but like Dialga and Genesect, it will be in trouble if it has a Substitute up. Additional Info: The Speed-drop that V-Create provides is a great nuisance to Rayquaza, and it forces it to use ExtremeSpeed all the time unless it wants to die before it can make a move. Earthquake provides Rayquaza coverage without the Speed-drop but the drop in power is noticeable, Rayquaza will no longer be able to spam a one-turn Outrage which prevents it from 2HKOing Lugia with the combination of V-Create and ExtremeSpeed, and makes it rely on two Dragon Claws instead. By mr.lol [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Hasty / Naive Nature - Draco Meteor - Fire Blast / V-Create - ExtremeSpeed - Outrage / Dragon Tail Role: Mixed Attacker, Wallbreaker What it does: Basically, Rayquaza is there to KO or severely dent many prominent Uber walls. Draco Meteor puts a mark on anything that doesn't resist it, including Groudon, Lugia, and Giratina. Its Fire move of choice breaks down most Steels. ExtremeSpeed is good priority, and it can also go on a KO rampage or phaze. Good Teammates: Stealth Rock and other hazards are Rayquaza's best friends. Therefore, Pokemon such as Forretress, Ferrothorn, and others are great teammates. Rayquaza is not a sweeper; rather it creates the mess that Pokemon such as Salamence clean up. What counters it: Rayquaza is usually best checked/countered by revenge killing it, usually with a Choice Scarf user like Garchomp, Terrakion, and others. Stealth Rocks can also help defeat Rayquaza. Additional Info: Rayquaza can also run Earthquake for coverage and Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor if the stat drop is too unadmirable. By SPEN18 [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd Mild Nature - Dragon Dance - Draco Meteor - Outrage - Fire Blast / Earthquake Role: Wallbreaker, Mixed Attacker, Late-game Cleaner, Lure What it does: The goal of this Rayquaza is to basically serve as a lure and stallbreaker mid- and early-game, and if it gets the chance, to sweep late-game. Since Groudon and other physical walls are the #1 switch-ins for DD Rayquaza, this set utilizes that for its own favor. Once the opponent sees that Rayquaza used Dragon Dance, he will switch in Groudon, which has only 12.5% to survive Draco Meteor. Lugia is also a common switch-in, but Great Wall Lugia takes 56% minimum from Draco Meteor, leaving it severely damaged after Stealth Rock. By these walls weakened, ExtremeKiller Arceus, Moxie Salamence, and more physical sweepers can sweep with much more ease. Good Teammates: As said, Pokemon that appreciate the weakening of walls such as Groudon and Lugia are good partners. Thanks to the surprise factor this set has in Draco Meteor, Rayquaza excels in removing Groudon off the field and weakening Lugia. Rapid Spin support is also much appreciated, as it increases Rayquaza's lifespan on the battleground. Forretress makes a fantastic candidate for this role, as it can also set up hazards of its own and use Volt Switch to bring Rayquaza in safely. What counters it: Anything faster than this Rayquaza at +1 should do the trick. Scarf Genesect, Salamence, Palkia, and Terrakion are all fantastic examples that can come in and threaten Rayquaza. Ditto can copy all of Rayquaza's boosts and still be faster thanks to Choice Scarf. If not using Earthquake, Heatran can take a +1 Outrage or Draco Meteor, and poison Rayquaza with Toxic, but as no way to recover the damage. By Furai [SET] Mewtwo @ Life Orb Trait: Pressure EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Calm Mind - Psystrike - Ice Beam - Aura Sphere / Fire Blast Role: Special Sweeper, Late-game Cleaner, Wallbreaker What it does: Mewtwo! The clone we're all terrified by, and for a good reason. Generation V gave Mewtwo something it could not disregard: Psystrike. Thanks to this move, Pokemon that Mewtwo used to get past through by exploding itself up with Selfdestruct, such as Blissey and Ho-Oh, are no longer a threat. It also makes its Calm Mind set a lot more useful, and doesn't waste a move on Taunt in order to beat Blissey. Mewtwo's coverage is so wide, that no matter what you do, something is going to take some damage. Ice Beam hits the Dragon-types that are lurking everywhere in our tier, whereas Aura Sphere and Fire Blast are used to get past Steel-types. Note that Aura Sphere should be used in rain, and Fire Blast in sun, so the latter's power will not decrease. Aura Sphere's usefulness over Fire Blast however, is the ability to dent Tyranitar, who would otherwise beat Mewtwo. Good Teammates: Mewtwo HATES hazards, especially Toxic Spikes. Rapid Spin users, namely Forretress and Excadrill, are great partners, as they can also set up entry hazards that are appreciated by Mewtwo as well; they stack damage on the foe's team which makes it much easier for it to sweep. Tentacruel should get a special mention as a Rapid Spinner, as thanks to its Poison typing, Toxic Spikes are instantly removed from your side of the field. Poison Arceus also falls in the same boat, with the exception of the ability to Rapid Spin. Something to take on Genesect is also appreciated; Dialga, Ho-Oh, or Heatran are good options. What counters it: The newly released Genesect is Mewtwo's worst enemy. It can come in on a Calm Mind, get an Attack boost, and KO Mewtwo with 252 Attack EVs. Giratina-O is not OHKOed by a boosted Ice Beam or Psystrike, whereas its priority Shadow Sneak 2HKOs. Dark Arceus can shrug off +1 Aura Sphere and OHKO with Payback. Strong Choice Scarf users, such as Salamence and Terrakion, can KO Mewtwo if weakened. The ease at which this set has setting up upon many physical threats, like Zekrom and Terrakion, as well as many support Pokemon who will almost surely switch out, like Tentacruel, mean that the time to use one boosting move is not particularly hard to find. By syrim Physical Sweepers [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Dragon Claw - ExtremeSpeed / Substitute - V-Create / Earthquake Role: Wallbreaker, Physical Sweeper What it does: This Rayquaza variant is as simple as using Extremekiller Arceus. Get up a Swords Dance and watch in amusement as the other team frants around to try to find something that doesn't get OHKOed by this. After a Swords Dance, Rayquaza gains the ability to 2HKO the entire metagame with the combination of one of its moves combined with ExtremeSpeed. Not even Lugia is spared of its wrath, as it is OHKOed by the raw power of a +2 V-Create after Stealth Rocks, and if you can't provide that, then you can always just ExtremeSpeed before nuking it. ExtremeSpeed in general will allow you to sweep some teams later on in a game, but using Substitute over it means you can scout what wants to revenge you and OHKO the revenge-killer, meaning you may have potentially not only broken a wall, but also KOed a revenge-killer. Congratz the enemy team is now weak to every sweeper in the game. Enjoy. Good Teammates: Rayquaza does not need any support but it appreciates Stealth Rock support so that it can OHKO Lugia without having to rely on ExtremeSpeed and Wobbufett since its ability and movepool allow it to help Rayquaza setup with ease. Since Rayquaza is a wall breaker, partners that can take advantage of the gaping holes are appreciated. Bisharp and Extremekiller Arceus in general can make a very annoying core of powerful priority with Rayquaza which they can use to smite the enemy and clean up the mess the other left behind. What counters it: Nothing can boast being able to counter this beast. Everything that Rayquaza faces can be taken down should it choose the right move, however, that does not mean it can't be revenged or "checked". Support Arceus can try to check Rayquaza by hitting it with an Ice Beam or Will-O-Wisp, suppressing its offensive presence for the remainder of the match. They must beware of Swords Dance boosted V-Creates though, as they will OHKO Arceus's hit neutrally by it. Choice Scarf Dialga and Genesect can revenge-kill Rayquaza thanks to their resistance to ExtremeSpeed but if Rayquaza chooses to use Substitute on the turn they come in, both will die accomplishing nothing but the fact that they broke Rayquaza's favorite Rhydon doll. Heatran and Skarmory can wall Rayquaza, depending on whether it decides to use Earthquake or V-Create. Heatran can also opt to use the Choice Scarf set to revenge-kill Rayquaza, but like Dialga and Genesect, it will be in trouble if it has a Substitute up. Additional Info: The Speed-drop that V-Create provides is a great nuisance to Rayquaza, and it forces it to use ExtremeSpeed all the time unless it wants to die before it can make a move. Earthquake provides Rayquaza coverage without the Speed-drop but the drop in power is noticeable, Rayquaza will no longer be able to spam a one-turn Outrage which prevents it from 2HKOing Lugia with the combination of V-Create and ExtremeSpeed, and makes it rely on two Dragon Claws instead. By mr.lol [SET] Arceus @ Life Orb / Silk Scarf / Lum Berry Trait: Multitype EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - ExtremeSpeed - Shadow Claw - Earthquake / Brick Break Role: Physical Sweeper, Late-game Cleaner What it does: ExtremeKiller is that one threat you all prepare for, besides the likes of Kyogre and Mewtwo. Its high base 120 Attack, along with access to Swords Dance, makes it one of the fearsome attackers in the tier. Not only that however, as Arceus's high bulk allows it to set up on many attacks, such as Palkia's Spacial Rend. Yet, what makes Arceus so appealing is its access to a 80 BP STAB move—ExtremeSpeed. Once boosted, it hits extremely hard, doing a minimum of 49.5% to 252/252+ Groudon with Life Orb. Arceus's wide movepool also gives it a great coverage with Shadow Claw and Earthquake; Brick Break can be used to hit Steel-types, such as Skarmory and Ferrothorn, harder. Recover is also a move to consider over Earthquake, as it increases Arceus's lifespan if you wish to use it mid-game. Good Teammates: Anything that can soften its counters should do it. Thus, Pokemon such as Rayquaza or Terrakion, can come in, lure in Groudon and Giratina, Arceus's biggest enemies, and hit them extremely hard with their STABs, putting them into KO range. Arceus also really appreciates Entry Hazard support, as it guarantees many OHKOs and 2HKOs, such as the one on Groudon. Thus, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, or Forretress make good partners. Something to take on Terrakion is also useful, making Physically Defensive Giratina-O and Groudon good partners. What counters it: Groudon can easily shrug off an attack from Arceus and phaze it with Dragon Tail, stacking more and more hazard damage. Giratina can easily take a boosted Shadow Claw, burn Arceus, Rest the damage off, and phaze with Dragon Tail. Terrakion outspeeds and does a lot of damage with Close Combat, while also resisting ExtremeSpeed. Bulky Arceus formes, such as Ghost, Steel, and Normal, can burn Arceus, and Recover the damage they had taken in the proccess. By syrim [SET] Blaziken @ Life Orb Trait: Speed Boost EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant OR Jolly Nature - Flare Blitz - Hi Jump Kick / Low Kick - Swords Dance - Protect / Roar Role: Physical Sweeper, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Get a quick Swords Dance on something you scare out, Protect the next turn to be at +2 Speed and outspeed the entire meta (well barring stupid stuff like Choice Scarf Deoxys-S running max speed). Now you may wreak havoc with your over-the-top offensive statistics and proceed to sweep the team. The fact Blaziken's STAB is boosted by sunlight allows it to do crazy things normally not possible, like OHKO Multiscale less Lugia at full health. Combine this with Hi Jump Kick providing you with another STAB move that allows you to hit the Dragons that resist Hi Jump Kick neutrally and you have a fearsome sweeper in your hands that gets more and more difficult to revenge every turn. Good Teammates: There is one Pokemon that Genesect hates more then any other, Giratina-a. If you aren't running Roar, Giratina-a will quite literally wall you to no end. Therefore, Pokemon that defeat Giratina-a can really help out Blaziken. Specially Offensive Dragons, Latios in particular, are a real boon to Blaziken as they can beat up Giratina-a. Latios can switch into Kyogre and Giratina-a, and proceed to maim both of them with a strong Draco Meteor or Thunder. Lastly, Blaziken really appreciates Sunlight to boost its STAB Flare Blitz, so Groudon is an excellent choice as a team mate. Groudon can also provide Stealth Rock support, something that allows Blaziken to always beat Multiscale Lugia (in sun), and in general, make sweeping a lot more easier. What counters it: Giratina-a is Blazikens worst enemy. It can stomach all of its moves (barring Roar with hazards) and proceed to phaze the red hot chicken out of all of his boosts. If you can't put that on your team, Kyogre helps out by neutralizing Blaziken's STAB Flare Blitz. If you manage to find yourself going against a Blaziken in rain, you can easily switch in something that resists Flare Blitz (like Giratina-O or Lugia) and use that Pokemon to either wall, or flat out kill Blaziken. Additional Info: If you really hate Hi Jump Kick's accuracy you can use Low Kick, but keep in mind using Low Kick means you get stomped over by enemy Manaphy. Roar allows Blaziken to beat Great Wall Giratina-a all the time should hazards be setup, but Protect allows you to more reliably gain a Speed Boost and allows you to revenge kill weakened mons as well. By Mr.lol Special Sweepers [SET] Kyurem-White @ Choice Specs Trait: Turboblaze EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP Timid Nature - Ice Beam - Fusion Flare - Draco Meteor - Focus Blast Role: Special Sweeper, Wallbreaker What it does: Can you say "powerhouse?". Such a powerful threat. A base 170 SpA is already astronomical, only surpassed by Deoxys-A. However, slapping Choice Specs on top of that pushes it into "now that's just plain stupid territory. STAB Specs Ice Beam is not to be screwed around with, as it hits most of the powerful Dragons in Ubers for SE damage, only lacking coverage on fellow Kyurem-W and Palkia. As such, even neutral hits are very powerful, as Ice Beam hits for 75% - 89% on 4/0 Palkia, which is a guarenteed OHKO on Palkia after SR and Spikes. Fusion Flare gets the nice coverage on things like Ferrothorn or Forretress which could otherwise take a hit, as well as surprising Genesect trying to switch in. Simply put, Ice Beam and Fusion Flare can easily dominate many threats, especially backed up by Specs. In fact, these two moves alone could make a solid moveset. However, Draco Meteor is another very useful move, as sometimes you need the power to break through some threats. Only use Draco Meteor if you want power (taking out a low-health Chansey, for example) and not if you plan to sweep. Focus Blast is the last move, as it gives Kyurem-W an option to fight Heatran, which would otherwise wall this set. Good Teammates: Specs Kyurem-W is a fantastic standalone fighter, as its moves have such crazy standalone coverage. The blobs can be an issue, though, so a powerhouse physical poke is a big help. Of course, Ho-Oh is my #1 pick for physical attackers, as STAB Brave Birds will do a lot to Chanseys and Blisseys that think they have a safe switch. Ho-Oh is also a good switch into Fighting-type attacks aimed at Kyurem-W, as well as Steel type attacks. However, these two do share big rock weaknesses, which already makes your team vulnerable to Terrakion. Groudon can fix this problem, as defensive Groudon takes a paltry amount from either of Terrakion's STABs, as well as providing sun for Kyurem's Fusion Flare. What counters it: Unless you pack Chansey or Blissey, good luck switching into this guy. Those two are two of the few pokes which can hope to face Kyurem-W, as those two can take on Kyurem, even though Specs Focus Blasts will certainly hurt. Tyranitar and Rock Arceus can also take on Kyurem-W, even though Tyranitar requires you to not be locked into Focus Blast as that OHKOes. Ho-oh is another great check, as no moves are super effective and Ho-oh's gargantuan special bulk means it can easily take the hits (Thank you to Kebabe for reminding me on this one). Scarfed Dragons like Garchomp or opposing Kyurem-W can easily take out your Kyurem-W with powerful Dragon STAB. Plus, any Dragon with Base Speed over 95 can outspeed as Kyurem-W is kind of slow. Also, Fighting types like Terrakion can easily force out Kyurem-W with the threat of a Close Combat. However, most of these are just things that can force out Kyurem-W, as very few pokes can actually switch in provided you pick the correct move. Also, it is recommended you pack a spinner like Forretress, as losing 25% at every switch in is certainly not fun. By Phazon00 [SET] Arceus-Ice @ Icicle Plate Trait: Multitype EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Calm Mind - Judgment - Thunder - Fire Blast Role: Special Sweeper What it does: Arceus-Ice isn't a Pokemon that's outright horrible, it's just difficult to recommend. On one hand, Ice is a fantastic offensive typing in Ubers. Arceus-Ice can destroy all kinds of threats ranging from Groudon, pretty much every dragon in the tier, Thundurus, etc, and even more if you get some Calm Mind boosts. On the other hand...Ice is a horrible typing defensively. Stealth Rock weakness, one resistance, and four weaknesses, all four being prevalent in Ubers, with Fire, Rock and Fighting being quite common. Not to mention, it faces competition from other Arceus formes, the Kyurem formes, and a variety of other special sweepers. If you're looking for a change of pace or an unorthodox Pokemon for your team, Arceus-Ice is a good choice. For a more serious team it's not really recommended. Good Teammates: Kyogre can patch up the Fire weakness, Salamence can sweep more cleanly with Groudon and, possibly, Lugia taken care of, Deoxys-S can provide hazard support and Forretress can spin hazards away. What counters it: Not exactly easy to "counter": BoltBeam and Fire Blast coverage hard to switch into, but it can be brought down easily by faster sweepers, bulky attackers, Status, Hazards, Blissey, Chansey, and some other Specially Defensive Pokemon. By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Kyogre @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def Modest Nature - Substitute - Calm Mind - Hydro Pump / Surf / Scald - Ice Beam / Thunder Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker, Lure What it does: Kyogre is generally known for its ability to run a mean Choiced set, but that doesn't mean it can't take the defensive route and setup with Calm Mind! With Substitute preventing status, Leech Seed, and Dragon Tail phazing, Kyogre has little trouble setting up Calm Minds after it has made a sturdy Substitute. As enemy stall teams struggles to break its Substitute, Kyogre can unleash its fury in the coverage it desires. After obtaining a single Calm Mind, Kyogre's attacks will grow so powerful, to the point where they can do insane things, like 2HKO Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock and 2HKO Latias with Ice Beam. This Kyogre is even capable of beating Latias lacking Roar, Psyshock, or Thunder, in a Calm Mind war, a feat other Special stallbreakers have trouble boasting. This Kyogre is no slouch when against offensive teams either, by using Calm Mind Kyogre becomes so ridiculously bulky to the point where it can even beat its number one "check", Choice Scarf Palkia, and if you can get rid of a lot of strong physical attackers late game, well then this Kyogre might just sweep the opposition! Good Teammates: Calm Mind Grass Arceus and Calm Mind Latias utilizing Roar, Psyshock, or Thunder can really dampen this Kyogre's mood (pun intended). Team mates that can remove these Pokemon are really appreciated by Kyogre. Ferrothorn, can easily take care of any Latias lacking Substitute with the combination of Gyro Ball and Leech Seed while also being capable of setting up Spikes to assist Kyogre in sweeping the opposition. Jirachi can do a job similar to Ferrothorn, exchanging the ability to setup Spikes for crippling Grass Arceus and providing Wish support to Kyogre. Mewtwo and Calm Mind Psychic Arceus can also easily rid stray Latias and Grass Arceus by challenging them to a Calm Mind war in which they will inevitably win. Poison-types also make good team mates as they can rid the field of Toxic Spikes, meaning that Kyogre will not have to fear being statused upon entering the battlefield. What counters it: As mentioned several times, Calm Mind Latias and Calm Mind Grass Arceus can start a Calm Mind war with Kyogre that they will inevitably win. Toxic Spikes will put Kyogre at a time limit, limiting its lifespan and making it difficult for Kyogre to setup Substitutes. Additonal Info: The choice between Hydro Pump, Surf, and Scald is based on the good old Power vs. Accuracy argument. Hydro Pump 2HKOes Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rocks, making it a solid choice, but its low PP hurts and its low accuracy is a nuisance. Scald is much more reliable option, but a little weak. Its real shining point is that it assists Kyogre's ability to get more Calm Minds if it successfully burns Ferrothorn. Surf is a hybrid in terms of power between Scald and Hydro Pump, and is viable as it is capable of 2HKOing things like Wobbufett and enemy Calm Mind Arceus that Scald fails to 2HKO. The choice between Thunder and Ice Beam is based on what you want to hit. Without Ice Beam you lose to enemy Zekrom, all variants of Latias, and have difficulty injuring Giratina-a, but without Thunder you may struggle against enemy Kyogre and Manaphy. By Mr.lol [SET] Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 252 SAtk / 8 Spd Impish Nature - Substitute - Calm Mind - Dragon Pulse / Shadow Ball - Aura Sphere Role: Spinblocker, Stallbreaker, Special Sweeper What it does: Giratina-O's unique array of resistances and immunities allow it to be one of the few Special Attackers who can bypass Chansey regardless of what hazards lay on the field. Giratina-O can simply Sub up in front of the Special wall, and laugh as none of its attacks will be able to touch it. It can then proceed to nab Calm Mind boosts and OHKO the foolish wall with an Aura Sphere if it chooses to stay in. If Chansey flees, the next Pokemon coming in will find it facing a monster with a Substitute and Calm Mind up. Since Chansey is the main, Pokemon that stall teams go to for sponging strong Special Attacks, stall will be hard pressed to phaze this beast, and will succumb before it or lose a good bit of its walling power in killing it. Good Teammates: Giratina-O greatly appreciates hazard support. Stealth Rock and Spikes will make it easier to wear down stall. In particular, it lessens the threat of Regenerator Ho-oh and Multiscale Lugia, two Pokemon who may have ease phazing Giratina-O out without Stealth Rock support. Since Giratina-O is meant to break stall, it doesn't really need much support but it rather Supports its team mates by breaking stall's near invincible structure and weakening it for something else to clean up. Scarf Salamence in particular is an excellent partner. It can easily KO one weakened member of a stall team and proceed to start the snowball effect with Moxie and KO the rest. What counters it: Calm Mind Dark Arceus and Calm Mind Steel Arceus will always beat Giratina-O in a Calm Mind war and proceed to annoy the other team greatly if Giratina-O chooses to make both of them setup to +6. Other Calm Mind Arceus forms not weak to Giratina-O's STAB moves are also an annoyance to Giratina-O, since with Recover, they almost gurantee themselves a victory in a Calm Mind war, and can then lay their Judgment on the team that dare challenged their divine rule. Additional Info: The choice between Dragon Pulse and Shadow Ball really depends on what your more afraid of. Both moves when combined provide perfect coverage, but they hit different things super effectively. If you want Giratina-O to continue reliably checking Mewtwo and have an easier time at beating Lugia, Shadow Ball is the superior option. If you really fear random Choice Scarf Dragons ending your Calm Mind sweep, then go for Dragon Pulse since at +1 it will OHKO every Dragon in the Uber tier. The 248 EVs are chosen to have Giratina-O's Substitutes have the best chance at surviving a Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball, if you feel this is too much EV investment for such a rare attack, then you can allocate some of those EVs into Speed, so that it can outspeed more Pokemon with its "speed creep". [SET] Darkrai @ Choice Scarf Trait: Nightmare EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Trick - Dark Void - Dark Pulse - Focus Blast / Nasty Plot / Substitute Role: Special Sweeper, Revenge Killer, Stallbreaker, Lure What it does: Darkrai is known for its infamous ability to cripple stall by sending a Pokemon to sleep, but it often has trouble dealing with Pokemon that try to revenge-kill it, since they can often just waltz in and OHKO Darkrai whose Focus Sash has been broken. This set attempts to alleviate its issues at being revenge-killed while turning it into quite a good revenge-killer itself, as with Choice Scarf, it becomes the fastest user of Dark Void in the entire game! The addition of Trick to the set, also allows Darkrai to become one of the best Chansey lures in the whole game! Good Teammates: Darkrai is not one of those Pokemon that enjoy support but offer other Pokemon support by getting rid of the revenge-killer in a game. Pokemon that are typically annoyed of revenge-killers, like Dragon Dance Rayquaza and Calm Mind Mewtwo, appreciate Darkrai's ability to send revenge-killers and cripple opposing Pokemon on stall teams, as that will allows them to have an easier time sweeping later on. If there is any support Darkrai appreciates, its Calm Mind Ghost Arceus support. Whats so special about Calm Mind Ghost Arceus you ask? It boasts being one of the few things that can wall Heracross with a Guts boost while being able to boast an offensive presence high enough so that it will not easily lose momentum for the team Darkrai is on. It also appreciates Darkrai's Trick crippling its #1 counter, Chansey. What counters it: Tentacruel using Black Sludge, Choice Scarf Shaymin, and Choice Scarf Heracross all are capable of beating Darkrai. Tentacruel can easily absorb the Trick Darkrai intends to use on it and can proceed to wall Darkrai in the rain, as the damage its unboosted Pulses do is barely scratches its defenses. Choice Scarf Shaymin is able to outspeed and beat Darkrai should it be able to flinch Darkrai once with Air Slash. Lastly, Heracross is capable of switching into any move Darkrai tries to use on it and can OHKO it the turn after with Sleep Talk or one of is STAB moves. Additional Info: The choice between Nasty Plot, Substitute, and Focus Blast is up to the Darkrai user's preference and teams needs. If you still want Darkrai to have a shot at sweeping the other team then Nasty Plot is the way to go. Focus Blast complements Dark Pulse with near perfect coverage, while Substitute allows Darkrai to cause mind-games with the enemy, and possibly even beat an opposing revenge-killer. If you do send an enemy revenge-killer to sleep be careful about using Trick later. Using Trick on an Arceus forme or Giratina-O does nothing but make you setup bait. By mr.lol [SET] Darkrai @ Focus Sash / Life Orb / Leftovers Trait: Nightmare EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Dark Void - Dark Pulse - Focus Blast / Substitute / Nasty Plot - Nasty Plot / Substitute Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker What it does: Darkrai is the only Uber worthy Pokemon that got access to Dark Void and Nasty Plot, and with its high base Speed and Special Attack, it can use these moves to a truly devastating effect. The idea when using this Darkrai is to sleep a Pokemon, effectively "killing it" due to the new sleep mechanics, then proceed to setup a Substitute or Nasty Plot, and hit the incoming Pokemon for massive damage. This Darkrai is the true reason why every team in Ubers needs a revenge killer. Good Teammates: This Darkrai really has only one big issue, revenge killers. So Darkrai appreciates Pokemon that can get rid of enemy Revenge killers. In particular, Darkrai enjoys Wobbufett support. Wobbufett can not only effectively remove Choice Scarf Pokemon from the game, it can also aid Darkrai in setting up after it has sent something to sleep thanks to its access to Encore and Shadow Tag. This Darkrai also appreciates teammates that can provide Stealth Rock and Spikes support. Deoxys-S makes a fine user of these hazards, as combining the two anti-leads together on the same team means chaos for the enemy when he glances at team preview. What counters it: Choice Scarf Heracross is Darkrai's only true "counter". Its ability to absorb a Dark Void and use it for setting up a guts boost and proceed to kill it the turn after with Sleep Talk truly allows it to render Darkrai useless when it is against it. If you cannot afford to pack a Heracross on to a team that does not mean you cannot beat Darkrai. Darkrai can easily be revenge-killed after Sleep Clause has come into effect, since at that point, it can do nothing to stop the incoming Pokemon who intends to OHKO Darkrai before it can move. Additional Info: The moves slashed onto Darkrai may seem a bit strange but they all have a purpose. Substitute allows the Darkrai user to scout what Pokemon the enemy intends to send into Darkrai after it has sent something to sleep, allowing Darkrai to quickly harm the revenge-killer and retreat. Nasty Plot boosts Darkrai's Special Attack to enormous levels, allowing it to sweep. Focus Blast provides near perfect coverage with Dark Pulse, easing Darkrai's ability to sweep should it get a Nasty Plot up successfully. The item choice may also seem a bit odd but they too have their uses. Darkrai makes a fantastic anti-lead, and Focus Sash aids its ability to anti-lead as that lets it bypass and send a Pokemon faster then it to sleep. Life Orb eases Darkrai's ability to sweep but when used in conjunction with Substitute may make it look suicidal. If you do decide to use Substitute, Leftovers is recommended, as it allows Darkrai to make five Substitutes instead of four while also increasing its longevity. By mr.lol [SET] Mewtwo @ Life Orb Trait: Pressure EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Calm Mind - Psystrike - Ice Beam - Aura Sphere / Fire Blast Role: Special Sweeper, Late-game Cleaner, Wallbreaker What it does: Mewtwo! The clone we're all terrified by, and for a good reason. Generation V gave Mewtwo something it could not disregard: Psystrike. Thanks to this move, Pokemon that Mewtwo used to get past through by exploding itself up with Selfdestruct, such as Blissey and Ho-Oh, are no longer a threat. It also makes its Calm Mind set a lot more useful, and doesn't waste a move on Taunt in order to beat Blissey. Mewtwo's coverage is so wide, that no matter what you do, something is going to take some damage. Ice Beam hits the Dragon-types that are lurking everywhere in our tier, whereas Aura Sphere and Fire Blast are used to get past Steel-types. Note that Aura Sphere should be used in rain, and Fire Blast in sun, so the latter's power will not decrease. Aura Sphere's usefulness over Fire Blast however, is the ability to dent Tyranitar, who would otherwise beat Mewtwo. Good Teammates: Mewtwo HATES hazards, especially Toxic Spikes. Rapid Spin users, namely Forretress and Excadrill, are great partners, as they can also set up entry hazards that are appreciated by Mewtwo as well; they stack damage on the foe's team which makes it much easier for it to sweep. Tentacruel should get a special mention as a Rapid Spinner, as thanks to its Poison typing, Toxic Spikes are instantly removed from your side of the field. Poison Arceus also falls in the same boat, with the exception of the ability to Rapid Spin. Something to take on Genesect is also appreciated; Dialga, Ho-Oh, or Heatran are good options. What counters it: The newly released Genesect is Mewtwo's worst enemy. It can come in on a Calm Mind, get an Attack boost, and KO Mewtwo with 252 Attack EVs. Giratina-O is not OHKOed by a boosted Ice Beam or Psystrike, whereas its priority Shadow Sneak 2HKOs. Dark Arceus can shrug off +1 Aura Sphere and OHKO with Payback. Strong Choice Scarf users, such as Salamence and Terrakion, can KO Mewtwo if weakened. By Furai [SET] Latias (F) @ Soul Dew Trait: Levitate EVs: 200 HP / 56 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Calm Mind - Recover - Dragon Pulse - Refresh Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker What it does: Latias is an awesome Calm Minder, but status puts it to a halt. Not with Refresh! With Refresh, Latias sets up against everything it once had to flee in fear from, such as Chansey, Toxic Forretress and Tentacruel, and CM Arceus formes sans Ghost, Dark, and Bug. Mono-Dragon coverage is excellent in a metagame where there are few Steel-types that can even harm it. Literally the only Steel-type in the game not 2HKOed by Dragon Pulse at +6 is 252/252+ Arceus-Steel, and even that is only if Stealth Rock is absent. With power like that, only minimum Special Attack investment is needed. 56 EVs guarantee the OHKO against 0/0 Palkia at +0 after SR damage, and allows for the 2HKO against that Arceus set after SR, but if you don't need that you can always run full HP investment. This added bulk makes it far easier to set up multiple CM boosts, and without Toxic to put a timer on Latias, most stall teams are crushed beneath Latias's blows. Its excellent Speed means that no enemy Dragon-types can take advantage of Latias's weaker defenses at +0 unless they are using a Choice Scarf. If you feel like stall is giving your team problems, give Latias a try and watch stall teams melt away! Good Teammates: Latias needs powerful physical threats, such as Extreme Killer Arceus and Zekrom, removed before it can pull off a sweep. Terrakion can beat Arceus to death while also softening up Steel-types. As for Zekrom, a Steel-type of your own, such as Ferrothorn, can eat Zekrom's Outrages all day and cripple it with Thunder Wave or slowly sap its health with Leech Seed and Iron Barbs. It can also set hazards to help Latias gain more KOs. What counters it: Anything faster with a physical attack, such as SD Arceus formes, Scarf Zekrom, and Genesect, can outspeed and deal harsh damage to Latias. Arceus can set up on Latias if it hasn't boosted yet, and then knock it out with an ExtremeSpeed. Zekrom can use Outrage to squash Latias easily. Genesect gets an Attack boost from Download and has U-turn to abuse it with, but since its Attack stat is usually uninvested, it requires some prior damage to score a KO. By Hawkstar Mixed Attackers [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd Mild Nature - Dragon Dance - Draco Meteor - Outrage - Fire Blast / Earthquake Role: Wallbreaker, Mixed Attacker, Late-game Cleaner, Lure What it does: The goal of this Rayquaza is to basically serve as a lure and stallbreaker mid- and early-game, and if it gets the chance, to sweep late-game. Since Groudon and other physical walls are the #1 switch-ins for DD Rayquaza, this set utilizes that for its own favor. Once the opponent sees that Rayquaza used Dragon Dance, he will switch in Groudon, which has only 12.5% to survive Draco Meteor. Lugia is also a common switch-in, but Great Wall Lugia takes 56% minimum from Draco Meteor, leaving it severely damaged after Stealth Rock. By these walls weakened, ExtremeKiller Arceus, Moxie Salamence, and more physical sweepers can sweep with much more ease. Good Teammates: As said, Pokemon that appreciate the weakening of walls such as Groudon and Lugia are good partners. Thanks to the surprise factor this set has in Draco Meteor, Rayquaza excels in removing Groudon off the field and weakening Lugia. Rapid Spin support is also much appreciated, as it increases Rayquaza's lifespan on the battleground. Forretress makes a fantastic candidate for this role, as it can also set up hazards of its own and use Volt Switch to bring Rayquaza in safely. What counters it: Anything faster than this Rayquaza at +1 should do the trick. Scarf Genesect, Salamence, Palkia, and Terrakion are all fantastic examples that can come in and threaten Rayquaza. Ditto can copy all of Rayquaza's boosts and still be faster thanks to Choice Scarf. If not using Earthquake, Heatran can take a +1 Outrage or Draco Meteor, and poison Rayquaza with Toxic, but as no way to recover the damage. By Furai [SET] Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 248 Atk / 252 SAtk / 8 Spd Naughty Nature - Shadow Sneak - Dragon Tail - Draco Meteor - Hidden Power [Fire] Role: Mixed Attacker, Spinblocker What it does: There is a very good reason Giratina-O is one of the premier mixed attackers in the beautiful metagame of the Ubers. What with it's fantastic base 120 offensive stats, it's solid 150/100/100 bulk, and access to STAB priority, it makes an excellent choice for a mixed attacker. However, Giratina-O is not just for offensive teams, as while it provides powerful offense from both spectrums, its bulk and ability to phaze makes it a candidate for more defensive teams. It can also work as a somewhat bulky spinblocker, even though many people choose Giratina-A over its origin form for its more impressive bulk. However, Giratina-O has certainly staked its claim as a top threat in the Uber tier, as it deserves its place on any kind of team. Shadow Sneak is one of the key moves on this set, as that strong priority is key for finishing off things like Mewtwos or Deoxyses which can otherwise trouble teams. Draco Meteor is your main special attack, as STAB Dragon-type moves are deadly, especially when they have 140 base power. Especially since Dragon resists are fairly rare, as only Steel types can resist this type of move. Removing these can make Giratina's Draco Meteor a very difficult attack to be able to take. Dragon Tail makes a secondary Dragon STAB move, as it can also phaze out the opponent, racking up entry hazard damage and getting rid of stat boosts. This attack is also one of the big reasons that Giratina is usable on stall-ish teams as it can be a solid phazer. Plus, these Dragon Tails aren't exactly weak, as coming off base 120 attack, even for a base 40 move. HP Fire is just for coverage on troublesome steels, as Forretress and Ferrothorn can be a problem for this set. Good Teammates: Giratina's main job on teams is to weaken things with Dragon STAB, and to finish off weakened things with priority. Since Giratina cripples things for sweeps, you need the sweepers! Darkrai makes a fantastic partner, as it not only resists Ghost and Dark, but it also makes a phenominal special sweeper with its huge base special attack. Also, Darkrai can put faster Dragon-types to sleep, incapacitating them for a Giratina Draco Meteor. Ho-oh is another good partner, as Sacred Fire plows down Steels that can take Draco Meteors, as sometimes Hidden Power Fire is not enough, especially in Rain. Ho-oh can also be a good physical sweeper once the opposing team is weakened. Genesect, with it's intense coverage, can be a good counterpart to Giratina, as it can plow down Dragons with Ice Beam, and it can demolish Steels with Flamethrower. Also, the U-Turning momentum can further help wear down threats for a sweep with a threat such as Ho-oh or Darkrai. What counters it: As said above, fast Dragons are a good "check" to Giratina, as it is an easy revenge kill with their Super Effective STAB moves. However, you cannot switch these in under any other circumstances, as predicting this switch can be deadly as you wouldn't want to lose that Dragon. Lugia can tank pretty much anything Giratina will use, as even SE Shadow Sneaks are like mosquitos to be swatted away. Since Lugia carries Ice Beam, staying in is a horrible idea. Also, certain Arceus formes are more than bulky enough to live a hit. Plus, many have SE Judgements, such as Ghost or Dark formes. The Steel Arceus is also a very good check, as it resists Giratina's dual STAB and takes pitiful damage from HP Fire. Tyranitar can also act as a solid check to the set above, as you lack Earthquake. However, taking Draco Meteors isn't exactly fun for Tyranitar. Additional info: If you want, Dragon Pulse can be used if you plan on staying in for the long haul, however the immediate power of Draco Meteor is often crucial. Shadow Claw can be used, but it is still relatively weak and it lacks the priority of Shadow Sneak. Earthquake is an option to handle Tyranitar, but losing HP Fire leaves you helpless against Ferrothorn. By Phazon00 Revenge Killers [SET] Heatran @ Choice Scarf Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Overheat - Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Ice - Hidden Power Rock / Flamethrower - Earth Power / Flamethrower Role: Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Choice Scarf users who can do something against Extreme Killer Arceus are few and far between. The ones that can handle it usually are resistant to ExtremeSpeed, such as Terrakion. Heatran is another of these, and it can act as a potent revenge killer for sun teams. While revenge killing a slightly weakened Arceus (usually around 80% with a sun-boosted Overheat) is this set's primary focus, it can also revenge kill Mewtwo and Darkrai (which is why a Timid nature is necessitated, as Modest Heatran is too slow) and counter Earthquake-less Ho-Oh. Flamethrower can also be used to faciliate lategame sweeps, but often you'll find the coverage moves listed very tempting over Flamethrower. My personal recommendation for changing a slot to fit in Flamethrower is Earth Power, since Heatran is itself not common in Ubers, and Dialga gets hit for a pretty large chunk of damage by a sun-boosted Overheat. Of course, if you're set on Hidden Power Ice for guaranteeing you beat Swords Dance Rayquaza, then you'll obviously have the free slot for Flamethrower. Fire Blast is also an option for when you have the luxury of only needing to 2HKO Arceus or Dialga. Good teammates: Groudon, obviously. This set is only worth using when you have access to double-STAB Overheat. Otherwise it is rather subpar. Additionally, Groudon provides another safety net against Extreme Killer Arceus, which helps prevent Heatran from being spread too thin. A Kyogre switch-in is also very necessary; Latias, Ferrothorn, Grass Arceus, and Palkia are some of the best options and each have their own merit. Latias receives special mention for her immunity to Ground-type attacks. Lati@s are also troublesome, so something that can tank a hit from them, such as Ho-Oh, is also necessary. Entry hazards are also valuable for putting Arceus in KO range. Groudon already supplies Stealth Rock if you aren't running an offensive variant, but things like Forretress can provide Spikes or Toxic Spikes to compliment Stealth Rock. What counters it: Kyogre is singlehandedly the biggest threat to Heatran, not only in the direct sense, but also in an indirect sense in that if it is raining, Heatran cannot reliably revenge kill Arceus, Mewtwo, or Darkrai. Lati@s are also troublesome, since they can tank Heatran's Dragon Pulse without too much trouble. (Latios can survive two Dragon Pulses after Stealth Rock about half of the time, and is never 2HKOed without a critical hit if Stealth Rock is up). Additional Info: Try to keep this healthy. It can't revenge-kill Arceus if Heatran is low enough in health to be OHKOed by a +2 ExtremeSpeed through its resistance. Try to keep it at a bit above 60%, since +2 LO Adamant Arceus ExtremeSpeed caps out at about 61%. You can be a bit more reckless with switching Heatran into Stealth Rock if you know for a fact that you're handling a weaker variant of Arceus though. Also, this set is a Kyogre magnet, so if you think that your opponent is discerning enough to figure out the set prior to a revenge kill, or is just cautious in general, take advantage of the incoming switch to Kyogre by switching to something that will put your opponent in a bad situation while Kyogre is out. By Tobes [SET] Salamence @ Choice Scarf Trait: Moxie EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature - Outrage - Dragon Claw - Earthquake - Fire Blast Role: Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: If there's a Dragon ready to wreck your team or a weakened sweeper, throw Salamence against it on the revenge and crush it with the appropriate move, thanks to Salamence's great 135 Attack and, considering other Ubers Dragons are typically 90, 95, or unboosted, superb 100 Speed. Thanks to Moxie, unless you have a Physical Wall, once Salamence gets a boost it will be tough to stop. If you feel you can just destroy what is left of your opponent's team through Moxie boosts, hit the Outrage button instead and watch your opponent's team crumble. Good Teammates: Anything that can smash physical walls, such as Mixed or Swords Dance Rayquaza, Kyogre, or Kyurem-White. Any form of Hazard support works well too such as from Deoxys-S What counters it: Physical Walls, well, wall it, faster Scarfed Pokemon such as Terrakion can beat it with ease, or Pokemon you simply think can survive a hit from it and KO back such as the majority of Arceus formes. Additional Info: Don't be reckless with it, or you will be killed by a Groudon. By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Kabutops (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature / Jolly Nature - Waterfall - Rapid Spin / Aqua Jet - Low Kick - Stone Edge Role: [Offensive] Rapid Spinner, Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Kabutops has excellent coverage, and can revenge kill a multitude of threats with only SR down - Darkrai, Kyurem-W, Mewtwo (after one round of LO), Arceus (needs a biiit more residual damage) - in addition it is an excellent cleaner as Water, Rock, Fighting coverage is excellent, and if your opponents team is in the around 55-65% range you can orchestrate a clean sweep. In addition Kabutops also has goddamn Rapid Spin, as if it wasn't good enough already. Adamant gives it some much-needed power, but without Jolly you fail to outspeed Choice Scarf Terrakion. If you have another spinner on your team, which is perfectly understandable, since Kabutops is the only spinner weak to Toxic Spikes, Aqua Jet can be run for some nice priority and to bypass Terrakion without using a Jolly Nature. Good Teammates: Kyogre, duh. Gliscor, to switch into fighting / ground / electric attacks. Grass Arceus, comes in safely on the special attacks that threaten Kabutops. Genesect's U-Turn can rack up momentum, hazard damage, and bring in Kabutops for free. What counters it: Groudon, takes like 30-35% from Waterfall and Earthquake OHKOes. Giratina-A, takes pittance from basically everything and spinblocks to boot. Gastrodon, resists or is immune to Kabutops' STABs and doesn't care too much about Low Kick. Grass Arceus, needs to be below 50% HP for Kabutops to take it down. By Poppy [SET] Kyogre @ Choice Scarf Trait: Drizzle EVs: 52 HP / 252 SAtk / 204 Spd Modest Nature - Surf - Water Spout - Thunder - Ice Beam Role: Late-game Cleaner, Revenge Killer What it does: Choice Scarf Kyogre is great for the generally-slow Rain Teams wanting a speedy attacker. The evs allow Kyogre to outspeed all Neutral natured Deoxys-A. Water Spout is one of the reasons to use this set, as it allows you to do massive damage to anything that doesn't resist it. Pokemon like Arceus Steel, Ghost, and Fighting don't like taking a spout, even with a calm mind boost. Another one of the main catches of this set is being able to come in on almost any pokemon in ubers after a ko. Ogre finds switches on pokemon like Groudon and Excadrill and can immediately threaten the opponents team. Later in the game, once its few real checks have been removed, it can run through entire teams with just surf. Good Teammates: Genesect is great at grabbing momentum for Kyogre, being able to switch in on Latias and GrassArceus Ferrothorn has no issues coming in on Latias, Giratina or Grass Arceus and laying spikes, but won't appreciate a burn, especially if the opponent is using Gliscor. A teammate that can force out Ferrothorn, such as Gliscor (if the Ferrothorn is burned), Rayquayza, or Substitute Dialga is also a good idea. Support Grass Arceus is another good teammate for forcing Palkia out. What counters it: Ferrothorn can come in and leech seed you or lay spikes. SpD Giratina-A can come in, burn you, and phaze you. Latias and Grass Arceus fear nothing as well and can proceed to Calm Mind up, or in the case of support GrassCeus, burn you. Palkia can come in on a water move with ease and can proceed to fire off a lustrous orb boosted spacial rend, thunder you, or substitute to scout the switch-in. By HSA [SET] Terrakion @ Choice Scarf Trait: Justified EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature - Close Combat - Stone Edge - X-Scissor - Rock Slide / Sacred Sword Role: Revenge Killer What it does: So Terrakion is quite possibly the best revenge killer in ubers. Period. Terrakion checks some of the most dangerous set-up sweepers in the metagame. Close Combat coming off of a 357 attack stat kos most ExtremeKiller Arceus after Stealth Rock, while swiping a clean one-hit-ko on Darkrai. Close Combat also allows Terrakion to check the new Kyurems and Offensive Dialga while Ohkoing Ferrothorn after a layer of spikes. Being a physical scarfer, it hits on most ubers' weaker defense, allowing it to do upwards of 60% to Palkia and most Kyogre. Terrakion's other STAB, Stone Edge, KOs Ho-oh and allows Terrakion to check both SD and DD Ray, while also hitting Lugia for a good chunk of damage. X-Scissor hits Mewtwo for about 60%, harder than any of Terrakion's other moves. The last slot is purely filler. Rock Slide is for those who don't like a missed Stone Edge costing them the game, while Sacred Sword helps with Bulk Up Dialga. . Good Teammates: Terrakion is a revenge killer, so it shouldn't be really coming out until later in the game. Either way, something to switch into the Ghost-Types of the tier is almost required. Support Dialga and Ferrothorn don't have much to fear from the Tinas and can help whittle them down with hazards, although Ferrothorn doesn't appreciate the burn. While Darkrai can't really switch in, it is still great for breaking the Tinas while helping with the bulky cm arceii that plague Terrakion. A pokemon that can switch in on Groudon is also appreciated. For example, Skarmory has no issues dealing with Groudon and can set up spikes on it. What counters it: Most of countering Terrakion comes down to getting in a resist / immunity to whatever move it's using, unless you're using Groudon or Physically Defensive Ghost Arceus. By HSA [SET] Garchomp @ Choice Scarf Trait: Sand Veil EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP Jolly Nature - Outrage - Earthquake - Dragon Claw - Stone Edge Role: Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Garchomp pretty much proves that having 1 or 2 more speed points than your peers makes you a huge threat. With 102 Base Speed, Garchomp outspeeds pretty much every relevant Scarfer in Ubers besides Terrakion, Shaymin-S, and the rare Deoxys-S and Darkrai, meaning it has no trouble revenge killing the many dragons in Ubers. 130 Attack isn't exactly great by Ubers standards, but it is fine enough considering Garchomp's fantastic typing which allows you to revenge kill threats such as Palkia, Rayquaza, Zekrom, Arceus Steel, and Dialga with STAB Dragon Claw and Earthquake and gives it a great immunity to Electric attacks. Like Salamence, when you think your opponent is sufficiently weakened, hit that Outrage button and watch the team crumble. Good Teammates: Wallbreakers like Specs Kyogre. Anything that hates stuff like Palkia and Zekrom and wants them to die in a fiery Outrage, such as Kyogre again and Arceus Steel, also like Chomp. You can also get Sandstorm support from Tyranitar or Hippowdon to make use of Sand Veil. What counters it: Physical walls. Swift Swim users are also a pain. Also try taking advantage of the fact that Garchomp doesn't have a ton of attack, and have a bulky attacker take it out. Additional Info: (Insert Free Garchomp comment here) By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Darkrai @ Choice Scarf Trait: Nightmare EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Trick - Dark Void - Dark Pulse - Focus Blast / Nasty Plot / Substitute Role: Special Sweeper, Revenge Killer, Stallbreaker, Lure What it does: Darkrai is known for its infamous ability to cripple stall by sending a Pokemon to sleep, but it often has trouble dealing with Pokemon that try to revenge-kill it, since they can often just waltz in and OHKO Darkrai whose Focus Sash has been broken. This set attempts to alleviate its issues at being revenge-killed while turning it into quite a good revenge-killer itself, as with Choice Scarf, it becomes the fastest user of Dark Void in the entire game! The addition of Trick to the set, also allows Darkrai to become one of the best Chansey lures in the whole game! Good Teammates: Darkrai is not one of those Pokemon that enjoy support but offer other Pokemon support by getting rid of the revenge-killer in a game. Pokemon that are typically annoyed of revenge-killers, like Dragon Dance Rayquaza and Calm Mind Mewtwo, appreciate Darkrai's ability to send revenge-killers and cripple opposing Pokemon on stall teams, as that will allows them to have an easier time sweeping later on. If there is any support Darkrai appreciates, its Calm Mind Ghost Arceus support. Whats so special about Calm Mind Ghost Arceus you ask? It boasts being one of the few things that can wall Heracross with a Guts boost while being able to boast an offensive presence high enough so that it will not easily lose momentum for the team Darkrai is on. It also appreciates Darkrai's Trick crippling its #1 counter, Chansey. What counters it: Tentacruel using Black Sludge, Choice Scarf Shaymin, and Choice Scarf Heracross all are capable of beating Darkrai. Tentacruel can easily absorb the Trick Darkrai intends to use on it and can proceed to wall Darkrai in the rain, as the damage its unboosted Pulses do is barely scratches its defenses. Choice Scarf Shaymin is able to outspeed and beat Darkrai should it be able to flinch Darkrai once with Air Slash. Lastly, Heracross is capable of switching into any move Darkrai tries to use on it and can OHKO it the turn after with Sleep Talk or one of is STAB moves. Additional Info: The choice between Nasty Plot, Substitute, and Focus Blast is up to the Darkrai user's preference and teams needs. If you still want Darkrai to have a shot at sweeping the other team then Nasty Plot is the way to go. Focus Blast complements Dark Pulse with near perfect coverage, while Substitute allows Darkrai to cause mind-games with the enemy, and possibly even beat an opposing revenge-killer. If you do send an enemy revenge-killer to sleep be careful about using Trick later. Using Trick on an Arceus forme or Giratina-O does nothing but make you setup bait. By mr.lol [SET] Genesect @ Choice Scarf Trait: Download EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Naive Nature - U-turn - Ice Beam - Explosion - Iron Head Role: Revenge Killer What it does: Genesect is the ultimate revenge killer and momentum transfer Pokemon in the game. And I'm not joking. This beast can destroy a hapless team within a couple of minutes maximum. What make's Genesect even better is how anti-metagame it is currently with Latias, Mewtwo and Darkrai running amok. Genesect turns each and every one of these Pokemon into complete liabilities with minimal prediction. If any of these Pokemon, who are quite ubiquitous, are facing Genesect, your opponent has two choices. Either let it eat a Genesect U-turn and have your opponent's Choice Scarf Kyogre and lose your offensive trump card or switch out to a resist hopefully to eat a +1 U-Turn and lose momentum again as your opponent bring's in a appropriate switch. Genesect is especially invaluable for Offensive Teams to check other offensive teams. U-Turn is quite the amazing move allowing to snatch momentum for your favor. The attack EVs are for the bite. With 252 Atk EVs and +1 boost, everything not resisting U-Turn is taking a hit upwards of 30% at least(unless you are Lugia). Uninvested Kyogre is stripped of 50% of its health by one such U-Turn. Ice Beam is for revenge killing certain pokemon who are problematic for offensive teams such as Rayquaza, Salamence and Shaymin-S. At +1 SpA, Groudon is dealt a very nice 70% from Ice Beam. Iron Head is for general physical STAB but its mostly filler. Explosion might seem pointless but with a +1 boost, it is going to hurt Pokemon not resistant to it quite badly. Its quite a good last ditch move for a threat which you want to weaken. Good Teammates: Most pokemon which are seen on offensive teams are good teammates for genesect. Dialga is very useful since it can beat Giratina, Giratina-O, Skarmory (in non Rain or with Thunder) and can set up Stealth Rock. A Choice Specs Kyogre will appreciate Genesect scaring off Latias and can bring it in for free practically. A spinner is use ful for Genesect since U-Turn will wear it out. Excadrill / Forretress / Kabutops are all good choices. Finally a Spiker like Forretress will make playing against Genesect a complete pain in the ass for your opponent. What counters it: Nothing checks Genesect per say because of U-Turn but Pokemon resistant to it come close. Ho-Oh, Lugia, Giratina are good picks for Stall teams who can completely walk over Genesect. Dialga is a excellent check since Genesect is unable to harm it significantly without losing coverage. Additional Info: Nothing much, just keep in mind, when using Genesect, the goal is to transfer momentum and keep it with you at all times. If you keep this basic idea with mind, Genesect should be one helluva a fun pokemon to use. By barry4ever Late-game Cleaners [SET] Blaziken @ Life Orb Trait: Speed Boost EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant OR Jolly Nature - Flare Blitz - Hi Jump Kick / Low Kick - Swords Dance - Protect / Roar Role: Physical Sweeper, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Get a quick Swords Dance on something you scare out, Protect the next turn to be at +2 Speed and outspeed the entire meta (well barring stupid stuff like Choice Scarf Deoxys-S running max speed). Now you may wreak havoc with your over-the-top offensive statistics and proceed to sweep the team. The fact Blaziken's STAB is boosted by sunlight allows it to do crazy things normally not possible, like OHKO Multiscale less Lugia at full health. Combine this with Hi Jump Kick providing you with another STAB move that allows you to hit the Dragons that resist Hi Jump Kick neutrally and you have a fearsome sweeper in your hands that gets more and more difficult to revenge every turn. Good Teammates: There is one Pokemon that Genesect hates more then any other, Giratina-a. If you aren't running Roar, Giratina-a will quite literally wall you to no end. Therefore, Pokemon that defeat Giratina-a can really help out Blaziken. Specially Offensive Dragons, Latios in particular, are a real boon to Blaziken as they can beat up Giratina-a. Latios can switch into Kyogre and Giratina-a, and proceed to maim both of them with a strong Draco Meteor or Thunder. Lastly, Blaziken really appreciates Sunlight to boost its STAB Flare Blitz, so Groudon is an excellent choice as a team mate. Groudon can also provide Stealth Rock support, something that allows Blaziken to always beat Multiscale Lugia (in sun), and in general, make sweeping a lot more easier. What counters it: Giratina-a is Blazikens worst enemy. It can stomach all of its moves (barring Roar with hazards) and proceed to phaze the red hot chicken out of all of his boosts. If you can't put that on your team, Kyogre helps out by neutralizing Blaziken's STAB Flare Blitz. If you manage to find yourself going against a Blaziken in rain, you can easily switch in something that resists Flare Blitz (like Giratina-O or Lugia) and use that Pokemon to either wall, or flat out kill Blaziken. Additional Info: If you really hate Hi Jump Kick's accuracy you can use Low Kick, but keep in mind using Low Kick means you get stomped over by enemy Manaphy. Roar allows Blaziken to beat Great Wall Giratina-a all the time should hazards be setup, but Protect allows you to more reliably gain a Speed Boost and allows you to revenge kill weakened mons as well. By Mr.lol [SET] Heatran @ Choice Scarf Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Overheat - Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Ice - Hidden Power Rock / Flamethrower - Earth Power / Flamethrower Role: Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Choice Scarf users who can do something against Extreme Killer Arceus are few and far between. The ones that can handle it usually are resistant to ExtremeSpeed, such as Terrakion. Heatran is another of these, and it can act as a potent revenge killer for sun teams. While revenge killing a slightly weakened Arceus (usually around 80% with a sun-boosted Overheat) is this set's primary focus, it can also revenge kill Mewtwo and Darkrai (which is why a Timid nature is necessitated, as Modest Heatran is too slow) and counter Earthquake-less Ho-Oh. Flamethrower can also be used to faciliate lategame sweeps, but often you'll find the coverage moves listed very tempting over Flamethrower. My personal recommendation for changing a slot to fit in Flamethrower is Earth Power, since Heatran is itself not common in Ubers, and Dialga gets hit for a pretty large chunk of damage by a sun-boosted Overheat. Of course, if you're set on Hidden Power Ice for guaranteeing you beat Swords Dance Rayquaza, then you'll obviously have the free slot for Flamethrower. Fire Blast is also an option for when you have the luxury of only needing to 2HKO Arceus or Dialga. Good teammates: Groudon, obviously. This set is only worth using when you have access to double-STAB Overheat. Otherwise it is rather subpar. Additionally, Groudon provides another safety net against Extreme Killer Arceus, which helps prevent Heatran from being spread too thin. A Kyogre switch-in is also very necessary; Latias, Ferrothorn, Grass Arceus, and Palkia are some of the best options and each have their own merit. Latias receives special mention for her immunity to Ground-type attacks. Lati@s are also troublesome, so something that can tank a hit from them, such as Ho-Oh, is also necessary. Entry hazards are also valuable for putting Arceus in KO range. Groudon already supplies Stealth Rock if you aren't running an offensive variant, but things like Forretress can provide Spikes or Toxic Spikes to compliment Stealth Rock. What counters it: Kyogre is singlehandedly the biggest threat to Heatran, not only in the direct sense, but also in an indirect sense in that if it is raining, Heatran cannot reliably revenge kill Arceus, Mewtwo, or Darkrai. Lati@s are also troublesome, since they can tank Heatran's Dragon Pulse without too much trouble. (Latios can survive two Dragon Pulses after Stealth Rock about half of the time, and is never 2HKOed without a critical hit if Stealth Rock is up). Additional Info: Try to keep this healthy. It can't revenge-kill Arceus if Heatran is low enough in health to be OHKOed by a +2 ExtremeSpeed through its resistance. Try to keep it at a bit above 60%, since +2 LO Adamant Arceus ExtremeSpeed caps out at about 61%. You can be a bit more reckless with switching Heatran into Stealth Rock if you know for a fact that you're handling a weaker variant of Arceus though. Also, this set is a Kyogre magnet, so if you think that your opponent is discerning enough to figure out the set prior to a revenge kill, or is just cautious in general, take advantage of the incoming switch to Kyogre by switching to something that will put your opponent in a bad situation while Kyogre is out. By Tobes [SET] Salamence @ Choice Scarf Trait: Moxie EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature - Outrage - Dragon Claw - Earthquake - Fire Blast Role: Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: If there's a Dragon ready to wreck your team or a weakened sweeper, throw Salamence against it on the revenge and crush it with the appropriate move, thanks to Salamence's great 135 Attack and, considering other Ubers Dragons are typically 90, 95, or unboosted, superb 100 Speed. Thanks to Moxie, unless you have a Physical Wall, once Salamence gets a boost it will be tough to stop. If you feel you can just destroy what is left of your opponent's team through Moxie boosts, hit the Outrage button instead and watch your opponent's team crumble. Good Teammates: Anything that can smash physical walls, such as Mixed or Swords Dance Rayquaza, Kyogre, or Kyurem-White. Any form of Hazard support works well too such as from Deoxys-S What counters it: Physical Walls, well, wall it, faster Scarfed Pokemon such as Terrakion can beat it with ease, or Pokemon you simply think can survive a hit from it and KO back such as the majority of Arceus formes. Additional Info: Don't be reckless with it, or you will be killed by a Groudon. By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Kabutops (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature / Jolly Nature - Waterfall - Rapid Spin / Aqua Jet - Low Kick - Stone Edge Role: [Offensive] Rapid Spinner, Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Kabutops has excellent coverage, and can revenge kill a multitude of threats with only SR down - Darkrai, Kyurem-W, Mewtwo (after one round of LO), Arceus (needs a biiit more residual damage) - in addition it is an excellent cleaner as Water, Rock, Fighting coverage is excellent, and if your opponents team is in the around 55-65% range you can orchestrate a clean sweep. In addition Kabutops also has goddamn Rapid Spin, as if it wasn't good enough already. Adamant gives it some much-needed power, but without Jolly you fail to outspeed Choice Scarf Terrakion. If you have another spinner on your team, which is perfectly understandable, since Kabutops is the only spinner weak to Toxic Spikes, Aqua Jet can be run for some nice priority and to bypass Terrakion without using a Jolly Nature. Good Teammates: Kyogre, duh. Gliscor, to switch into fighting / ground / electric attacks. Grass Arceus, comes in safely on the special attacks that threaten Kabutops. Genesect's U-Turn can rack up momentum, hazard damage, and bring in Kabutops for free. What counters it: Groudon, takes like 30-35% from Waterfall and Earthquake OHKOes. Giratina-A, takes pittance from basically everything and spinblocks to boot. Gastrodon, resists or is immune to Kabutops' STABs and doesn't care too much about Low Kick. Grass Arceus, needs to be below 50% HP for Kabutops to take it down. By Poppy [SET] Kyogre @ Choice Scarf Trait: Drizzle EVs: 52 HP / 252 SAtk / 204 Spd Modest Nature - Surf - Water Spout - Thunder - Ice Beam Role: Late-game Cleaner, Revenge Killer What it does: Choice Scarf Kyogre is great for the generally-slow Rain Teams wanting a speedy attacker. The evs allow Kyogre to outspeed all Neutral natured Deoxys-A. Water Spout is one of the reasons to use this set, as it allows you to do massive damage to anything that doesn't resist it. Pokemon like Arceus Steel, Ghost, and Fighting don't like taking a spout, even with a calm mind boost. Another one of the main catches of this set is being able to come in on almost any pokemon in ubers after a ko. Ogre finds switches on pokemon like Groudon and Excadrill and can immediately threaten the opponents team. Later in the game, once its few real checks have been removed, it can run through entire teams with just surf. Good Teammates: Genesect is great at grabbing momentum for Kyogre, being able to switch in on Latias and GrassArceus Ferrothorn has no issues coming in on Latias, Giratina or Grass Arceus and laying spikes, but won't appreciate a burn, especially if the opponent is using Gliscor. A teammate that can force out Ferrothorn, such as Gliscor (if the Ferrothorn is burned), Rayquayza, or Substitute Dialga is also a good idea. Support Grass Arceus is another good teammate for forcing Palkia out. What counters it: Ferrothorn can come in and leech seed you or lay spikes. SpD Giratina-A can come in, burn you, and phaze you. Latias and Grass Arceus fear nothing as well and can proceed to Calm Mind up, or in the case of support GrassCeus, burn you. Palkia can come in on a water move with ease and can proceed to fire off a lustrous orb boosted spacial rend, thunder you, or substitute to scout the switch-in. By HSA [SET] Garchomp @ Choice Scarf Trait: Sand Veil EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP Jolly Nature - Outrage - Earthquake - Dragon Claw - Stone Edge Role: Revenge Killer, Late-game Cleaner What it does: Garchomp pretty much proves that having 1 or 2 more speed points than your peers makes you a huge threat. With 102 Base Speed, Garchomp outspeeds pretty much every relevant Scarfer in Ubers besides Terrakion, Shaymin-S, and the rare Deoxys-S and Darkrai, meaning it has no trouble revenge killing the many dragons in Ubers. 130 Attack isn't exactly great by Ubers standards, but it is fine enough considering Garchomp's fantastic typing which allows you to revenge kill threats such as Palkia, Rayquaza, Zekrom, Arceus Steel, and Dialga with STAB Dragon Claw and Earthquake and gives it a great immunity to Electric attacks. Like Salamence, when you think your opponent is sufficiently weakened, hit that Outrage button and watch the team crumble. Good Teammates: Wallbreakers like Specs Kyogre. Anything that hates stuff like Palkia and Zekrom and wants them to die in a fiery Outrage, such as Kyogre again and Arceus Steel, also like Chomp. You can also get Sandstorm support from Tyranitar or Hippowdon to make use of Sand Veil. What counters it: Physical walls. Swift Swim users are also a pain. Also try taking advantage of the fact that Garchomp doesn't have a ton of attack, and have a bulky attacker take it out. Additional Info: (Insert Free Garchomp comment here) By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature - Agility - Thunder/Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice] - Focus Blast Role: Late-game Cleaner What it does: Yay, something that isn't from an Ubers analysis! Anyways, Thundurus-Therian really shook up the OU metagame, but it didn't have much of an effect on the Ubers one. A Choice Scarf set relies too much on prediction to be very useful (at least from what I tested), but I'll talk about it later when I'm done testing it. An Agility set, on the other hand, really helps capitalize Thundurus's unique traits: Its great Special Attack, good, but not amazing, Speed, and an immunity to the ever common Electric and Ground type attacks. Granted, it can be risky to use and is very frail, though it still is an effective and fun set. The concept is pretty simple: Thundurus is naturally able to scare out a good deal of threats on the revenge thanks to great stats offensively, being quite fast, and having 2 great immunities, as well as switch into Choiced Ground and Electric attacks. While the opponent switches out, grab an Agility boost and, late-game at least, not much can stop you other than a Focus Blast miss or a priority move. 426 Special Attack, not counting Life Orb, seriously hurts especially since nothing can resist the coverage of Thundurus. 602 Speed allows you to outspeed a wide variety of threats, only losing to Max Speed Sand Rush Jolly Excadrill, Choice Scarf Deoxys-S, Max Speed Timid Chlorophyll Lilligant, Max Speed Chlorophyll Jumpluff, and +3 Blaziken in terms of relevant Ubers Pokemon without speed boosting moves. Combine that with a 180 Base Power, 100% accurate Thunder (counting STAB and assuming rain) and you have one hell of a sweeper. Good Teammates: Rain support is awesome, as not only does it boost Thunder's accuracy (You don't have to use it but it's more powerful than Thunderbolt), but Kyogre is also a magnet for Thunders and Thunderbolts that Thundurus-T can easily switch into. Thundurus really hates Stealth Rock, so a spinner like, say, Excadrill would help, and Excadrill also attracts Ground type moves for Thundurus to switch into. Hazard support from Ferrothorn for Deoxys-S really helps in cleaning. In general, you'll need your opponent's bulkier Pokemon to have some prior damage as well as to not have any Specially Defensive Pokemon that can get in your way, so anything that can help in that regard is a good teammate, such as Tyranitar who can easily take care of Lati@s and possibly Giratina. What counters it: The biggest problem with Thundurus is how frail he is: a strong STAB move will cripple if not KO him. Thundurus-T is also pretty easy to stop early or mid game when your Pokemon are in a healthy state since Thundurus can't outright OHKO everything. In addition, attacking Thundurus on the turn he gets his Agility boost will seriously hurt him. Priority is also a pain for Thundurus due to how frail he is. Not to mention, Life Orb will put Thundurus's life span on a timer, meaning if you think you are capable of it, you could just stall out Thundurus by switching Pokemon with good prediction, minimizing the damage, and just let Life Orb recoil do all the work in defeating him. In terms of actually countering Thundurus, the pink blobs Chansey and Blissey are always there to sponge Special attacks. If HP Ice is Thundurus's best move against a bulky Pokemon, that Pokemon is probably at least a decent check or counter: Lati@s, Giratina (both formes), Arceus-Dragon, Arceus-Grass, among others all don't have that much of a problem with HP Ice and can deal with Thundurus as they see fit. By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Arceus @ Life Orb / Silk Scarf / Lum Berry Trait: Multitype EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - ExtremeSpeed - Shadow Claw - Earthquake / Brick Break Role: Physical Sweeper, Late-game Cleaner What it does: ExtremeKiller is that one threat you all prepare for, besides the likes of Kyogre and Mewtwo. Its high base 120 Attack, along with access to Swords Dance, makes it one of the fearsome attackers in the tier. Not only that however, as Arceus's high bulk allows it to set up on many attacks, such as Palkia's Spacial Rend. Yet, what makes Arceus so appealing is its access to a 80 BP STAB move—ExtremeSpeed. Once boosted, it hits extremely hard, doing a minimum of 49.5% to 252/252+ Groudon with Life Orb. Arceus's wide movepool also gives it a great coverage with Shadow Claw and Earthquake; Brick Break can be used to hit Steel-types, such as Skarmory and Ferrothorn, harder. Recover is also a move to consider over Earthquake, as it increases Arceus's lifespan if you wish to use it mid-game. Good Teammates: Anything that can soften its counters should do it. Thus, Pokemon such as Rayquaza or Terrakion, can come in, lure in Groudon and Giratina, Arceus's biggest enemies, and hit them extremely hard with their STABs, putting them into KO range. Arceus also really appreciates Entry Hazard support, as it guarantees many OHKOs and 2HKOs, such as the one on Groudon. Thus, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, or Forretress make good partners. Something to take on Terrakion is also useful, making Physically Defensive Giratina-O and Groudon good partners. What counters it: Groudon can easily shrug off an attack from Arceus and phaze it with Dragon Tail, stacking more and more hazard damage. Giratina can easily take a boosted Shadow Claw, burn Arceus, Rest the damage off, and phaze with Dragon Tail. Terrakion outspeeds and does a lot of damage with Close Combat, while also resisting ExtremeSpeed. Bulky Arceus formes, such as Ghost, Steel, and Normal, can burn Arceus, and Recover the damage they had taken in the proccess. By Furai [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd Mild Nature - Dragon Dance - Draco Meteor - Outrage - Fire Blast / Earthquake Role: Wallbreaker, Mixed Attacker, Late-game Cleaner, Lure What it does: The goal of this Rayquaza is to basically serve as a lure and stallbreaker mid- and early-game, and if it gets the chance, to sweep late-game. Since Groudon and other physical walls are the #1 switch-ins for DD Rayquaza, this set utilizes that for its own favor. Once the opponent sees that Rayquaza used Dragon Dance, he will switch in Groudon, which has only 12.5% to survive Draco Meteor. Lugia is also a common switch-in, but Great Wall Lugia takes 56% minimum from Draco Meteor, leaving it severely damaged after Stealth Rock. By these walls weakened, ExtremeKiller Arceus, Moxie Salamence, and more physical sweepers can sweep with much more ease. Good Teammates: As said, Pokemon that appreciate the weakening of walls such as Groudon and Lugia are good partners. Thanks to the surprise factor this set has in Draco Meteor, Rayquaza excels in removing Groudon off the field and weakening Lugia. Rapid Spin support is also much appreciated, as it increases Rayquaza's lifespan on the battleground. Forretress makes a fantastic candidate for this role, as it can also set up hazards of its own and use Volt Switch to bring Rayquaza in safely. What counters it: Anything faster than this Rayquaza at +1 should do the trick. Scarf Genesect, Salamence, Palkia, and Terrakion are all fantastic examples that can come in and threaten Rayquaza. Ditto can copy all of Rayquaza's boosts and still be faster thanks to Choice Scarf. If not using Earthquake, Heatran can take a +1 Outrage or Draco Meteor, and poison Rayquaza with Toxic, but as no way to recover the damage. The clone we're all terrified by, and for a good reason. Generation V gave Mewtwo something it could not disregard: Psystrike. Thanks to this move, Pokemon that Mewtwo used to get past through by exploding itself up with Selfdestruct, such as Blissey and Ho-Oh, are no longer a threat. It also makes its Calm Mind set a lot more useful, and doesn't waste a move on Taunt in order to beat Blissey. Mewtwo's coverage is so wide, that no matter what you do, something is going to take some damage. Ice Beam hits the Dragon-types that are lurking everywhere in our tier, whereas Aura Sphere and Fire Blast are used to get past Steel-types. Note that Aura Sphere should be used in rain, and Fire Blast in sun, so the latter's power will not decrease. Aura Sphere's usefulness over Fire Blast however, is the ability to dent Tyranitar, who would otherwise beat Mewtwo. Good Teammates: Mewtwo HATES hazards, especially Toxic Spikes. Rapid Spin users, namely Forretress and Excadrill, are great partners, as they can also set up entry hazards that are appreciated by Mewtwo as well; they stack damage on the foe's team which makes it much easier for it to sweep. Tentacruel should get a special mention as a Rapid Spinner, as thanks to its Poison typing, Toxic Spikes are instantly removed from your side of the field. Poison Arceus also falls in the same boat, with the exception of the ability to Rapid Spin. Something to take on Genesect is also appreciated; Dialga, Ho-Oh, or Heatran are good options. What counters it: The newly released Genesect is Mewtwo's worst enemy. It can come in on a Calm Mind, get an Attack boost, and KO Mewtwo with 252 Attack EVs. Giratina-O is not OHKOed by a boosted Ice Beam or Psystrike, whereas its priority Shadow Sneak 2HKOs. Dark Arceus can shrug off +1 Aura Sphere and OHKO with Payback. Strong Choice Scarf users, such as Salamence and Terrakion, can KO Mewtwo if weakened. By Furai Bulky Attackers / Tanks [SET] Ho-Oh @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 84 SDef / 16 Spd / 156 Atk Adamant Nature - Brave Bird - Sacred Fire - Roost - Substitute Role:Bulky Attacker / Tank What it does: A fantastic addition to offensive and defensive sun teams alike, Ho-oh sponges hits with it's sky high special defense and retaliates with mighty powerful STAB attacks. Actually, its STAB combination is so potent that almost nothing likes to switch into it. Only rock Arceus, defensive Kyogre and Giratina can shrug off its attacks. However, Brave Bird will 3HKO Kyogre. 156+ Atk Ho-Oh Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Kyogre: 156-184 (38.61 - 45.54%) -- guaranteed 3HKO Giratina can't really threaten Ho-oh, because it's immune to burns, leaving Rockceus as the only safe switch-in that can threaten back. What separates Rockceus from other rock move users is that it's judgment is special. Since Sacred Fire has a 50 % chance to land a burn, physical attackers like Terrakion or Zekrom really don't like switching in. Residual damage from burns are even good on something like a scarfed ogre, because it will help will to win the weather war, and at that point Ho-oh walls even more things, for example Scarfkia. Also Regenrator is a godsend, because it allows Ho-oh to pivot switch into stuff like Specs Kyurem-W and scout its move (providing it's at 100 %, but this is mostly in a lead scenario, because Kyurem-W is a really good lead tbh). It can then switch out into an appropriate resistance and get 33 % Hp back. There are obviously endless usage of this cool ability. Roost and substitute are good moves to heal even more and ease prediction, respectively. Now everything I stated might sound like Ho-oh is on par with S-tier mons like Kyogre and Extreme killer, but it needs a lot of support to perform. Especially concerning Stealth Rocks and the prevalence of rain. Good Teammates: Oh shit, here we go. This thing needs support. Spin support should be your first concern. Never run this thing unless you have a plan (or even more than one way) to make Stealth Rocks go away or never come up. Taunt users like Deoxys Speed can at least early prevent most things from setting them up. A spinner like Forretress is also good, just have a way of getting around spinblockers, i.e. Volt Switch. Magic Bounce users, like Espeon and Xatu, are another decent way to handle SR coming from Ferrothorn, Forretress and Deoxys-S. The biggest problem with the two bouncers is the Dialga weakness. Sashing Espeon and putting off a yawn will force Dialga out, but it can come in later and set rocks up anyway. Also, more random Stealth Rockers like Jirachi, Deoxys-A and Excadrill will put you in a bad spot, if you don't see it coming (which is hard, and no bouncers like switching in on Deoxys-A especially). Next concern should be weather. Sun and sand teams like having Ho-oh, in sun it's the sheer power of Sacred Fire that makes Ho-oh even better. Also, a removed water weakness helps. Sand teams benefit from Ho-oh in a couple of ways, it checks a lot of CM variants of Arceus that are troublesome for sand teams, Dark and Ghost especially. It also takes pressure of Tyranitar as a tank, and it has good synergy with it as well as Ferrothorn, another common member on sand teams. So choose Groudon, Tyranitar or Hippowdon as a team member for this Ho-oh. Always. Also, these three do provide Stealth Rocks to your time, and two are decent answers to E-killer. Some other notable team-mates are good answers to rain and Kyogre, Latias, Palkia and the gang are doing their best at keeping Kyogre at bay. Further entry hazards from Forry or Ferro is nice to help win weather wars. Ho-oh removes Chansey, so pairing it up with Choice Specs Kyurem-W as stated from Phazon00, is a good idea as well. Just cover the rock weakness! What counters it: I mean, some things resist Ho-oh's moves. Zekrom for example. But it can't come in because of the burn that is going to come eventually. This makes the list of hard counters short: Arceus-Rock, Impish Giratina and Bold Kyogre. And looking at that list it's easy to see why Ho-oh is so good. Not many teams have one of these, meaning they lack a solid answer to Ho-oh. Unless SR are up, though. It doesn't make this thing useless, but it has problems walling CM Arceus, Darkrai and Shaymin with them up. Get those rocks up! By Hack He Must [SET] Kyogre @ Lum Berry Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Modest Nature - Thunder Wave - Surf - Ice Beam - Thunder Role: Bulky Attacker What it does: A variety of Pokemon that switch into Kyogre are often fast sweepers, such as Palkia, Latios, Mewtwo, and Latias. NONE of these Pokemon like being paralyzed, and Kyogre actually has the potential of beating them if they switch-in on a Thunder Wave (yes I've managed to beat a few Soul Dew Latias with this set). The cool part about this set is that you can also use it to beat out leads such as Thundurus, Darkrai, and Deoxys-S not just because of Thunder Wave, but because of Kyogre's item: a Lum Berry, which gives Kyogre a one-time Refresh when it gets hit by Dark Void, Toxic, or Thunder Wave and allows Kyogre to beat out Thundurus and Darkrai. Good Teammates: Anything that enjoys Rain or fast sweepers being paralyzed, such as Genesect, non-Dragon Dance Rayquaza, Arceus-Ghost, etc. What counters it: Ground-types can potentially get free switch-ins thanks to Thunder Wave immunity and follow up with a KO. Anything bulky that can cure itself of Status such as Resttalk Giratina also works nicely. The fast sweepers mentioned earlier can still come in on the revenge and KO. By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Kyogre @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature - Rest - Sleep Talk - Roar - Scald Role: Tank What it does: This set is probably the most effective Kyogre for controlling the weather. It is also a fantastic utility counter, beating a huge portion of the ubers metagame. It can function as a status absorber as well. The ability to phaze out threats, as well as rack up hazard damage, is invaluable to a team seeking to maintain a strong defensive back bone whilst keeping their weather up. It can counter Leftovers Ho-oh very well, which is the reason for the swap from the onsite Calm nature to Bold. This switch also allows you to switch into Groudon and Ttar much more easily. Spreading burns with the more chances to Scald the bulk grants is a very welcome bonus, and punishes stuff like Ferrothorn for coming in repeatedly. Good Teammates: Pokemon capable of taking strong electric and grass attacks, beating the omnipresent Ferrothorn, and checking abusrdly strong physical attackers are very welcome. Grass arceus is an excellent teammate, who has great synergy and appreciates the ho-oh counter. Hazard users like Ferrothorn also have great synergy, as they allow the passive and active damage this set generates to overload a team much more quickly. It also allows you to wear down checks such as Gira-a with prediction, and keeps mons like palkia and zekrom from coming in to force you out constantly. What counters it: Sp def Gira a that outspeeds you can make you slightly useless, but it must get in on a turn you do not roar. Ferrothorn can wear you down with leech seed, or outright 2hko you if you do not get a scald burn. Latias is a full stop as well, though if it does not run Grass knot/Thunder or roar you can continue to shuffle your opponents team. Latias is also set up bait for many hazard users. Additional Info: The addition of roar allows you to use your huge bulk to shuffle around your opponents counter, and put pressure on their entire team through hazards and STAB scalds and the resulting burns. By syrim Support [SET] Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spd Impish Nature - Rest - Sleep Talk - Dragon Tail - Roar Role: Spinblocker, Support, Physical Wall What it does: This beast walls Groudon completely and can phaze it out with Dragon Tail. It can also stop some setup sweepers. Roar stops Substitute users and doesn't have accuracy issues like Dragon Tail. However, the real fun comes in when you Rest. You can no longer be affected by Status and you heal up. Plus, you can use Sleep Talk, which has 63% chance of phazing the opponent AND it bypasses the -6 priority of Roar and Dragon Tail. Good Teammates: Hazard support is pretty much mandatory, since it makes it all the harder for your opponent to deal with. Dialga, Ferrothorn, and Tentacruel are all good choices. Anything that enjoys a good way to deal with Groudon or Excadrill, such as Kyogre or Terrakion, will be a good teammate as well. What counters it: Switching in is far from easy when Giratina-O can phaze you with ease. However, if you can get one in safely or through the phazing effect, a Special Sweeper can deal massive damage to Giratina-O, especially if it was an Ice or Dragon attack. Additional Info: I have used Giratina-A's RestTalk set, albeit much less than this set, but I can tell you that this set has some distinct advantages over Giratina-A's Leftovers and better bulk. First off, Levitate is a boon for Giratina-O since it makes Groudon and some Excadrill all the more annoyed. In addition, many people don't expect this sort of set from Giratina-O. They typically would expect a Mixed set or a SubCM set. While they won't be too surprised by Dragon Tail since it's a viable option for the mixed set, the other moves will probably surprise them when they try to set up a Substitute for Ho-oh or something. By ThisMysteriousGuy [SET] Dialga @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 52 SAtk / 200 SDef Modest Nature - Stealth Rock - Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere - Dragon Tail / Roar / Thunder Role: Hazard User, Support What it does: Dialga's unique resistances and typing allowing it to become an exceptionally talented user of Stealth Rock. Thanks to STAB Draco Meteor still boasting the ability to rip threats apart, without too much investment, Dialga can run a good bit of Special Defense investment, allowing it to setup Stealth Rocks even on threats like Choice Specs Kyogre or Choice Scarf Palkia. With its wide movepool, Dialga gains the ability to threaten every other user of Stealth Rock. Fire Blast allows Dialga to roast Ferrothorn, Forretress, Excadrill, and Genesect in the Sun. Aura Sphere, while not nearly as powerful, is a more accurate and suitable alternative as unlike its counterpart, it is not reliant on weather and has a lot more PP. Dragon Tail and Roar allow Dialga to abuse its bulk and force switches. Thunder, however, gives Dialga a strong move to hit enemy Kyogre with, while also providing perfect, neutral coverage when used with Fire Blast or Aura Sphere. Good Teammates: Since this Dialga is meant to support a team, it doesn't need too much support. It does, however, appreciate a way to get past the only thing that can stop this Dragon from performing its job, Offensive Stealth Rock Groudon. Grass Arceus is easily capable of stopping this Groudon in its track with a powerful STAB Judgment or Grass Knot. Dialga also appreciates some kind of spin blocker support so that the Stealth Rocks it sets up don't go to waste. Giratina-O can easily provide this support and it too is capable of annoying any Groudon variant with its powerful STAB Draco Meteors. What counters it: Offensive variants of Groudon and Xatu annoy this Dialga more then anything else. Groudon can OHKO Dialga before it can move, while Xatu can reflect the Stealth Rocks Dialga uses, and take advantage of Dialga to setup Light Screen and Reflect. Both must be wary of Draco Meteor though, as it OHKOes Xatu and 2HKOes Groudon. The Deoxys formes are also capable of annoying Dialga with Taunt and Superpower, but none of them can absorb a Draco Meteor, and all of them lose if they get hit by Dragon Tail as they Taunt. By Mr.lol Spinblockers [SET] Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb Trait: Levitate EVs: 248 Atk / 252 SAtk / 8 Spd Naughty Nature - Shadow Sneak - Dragon Tail - Draco Meteor - Hidden Power [Fire] Role: Mixed Attacker, Spinblocker What it does: There is a very good reason Giratina-O is one of the premier mixed attackers in the beautiful metagame of the Ubers. What with it's fantastic base 120 offensive stats, it's solid 150/100/100 bulk, and access to STAB priority, it makes an excellent choice for a mixed attacker. However, Giratina-O is not just for offensive teams, as while it provides powerful offense from both spectrums, its bulk and ability to phaze makes it a candidate for more defensive teams. It can also work as a somewhat bulky spinblocker, even though many people choose Giratina-A over its origin form for its more impressive bulk. However, Giratina-O has certainly staked its claim as a top threat in the Uber tier, as it deserves its place on any kind of team. Shadow Sneak is one of the key moves on this set, as that strong priority is key for finishing off things like Mewtwos or Deoxyses which can otherwise trouble teams. Draco Meteor is your main special attack, as STAB Dragon-type moves are deadly, especially when they have 140 base power. Especially since Dragon resists are fairly rare, as only Steel types can resist this type of move. Removing these can make Giratina's Draco Meteor a very difficult attack to be able to take. Dragon Tail makes a secondary Dragon STAB move, as it can also phaze out the opponent, racking up entry hazard damage and getting rid of stat boosts. This attack is also one of the big reasons that Giratina is usable on stall-ish teams as it can be a solid phazer. Plus, these Dragon Tails aren't exactly weak, as coming off base 120 attack, even for a base 40 move. HP Fire is just for coverage on troublesome steels, as Forretress and Ferrothorn can be a problem for this set. Good Teammates: Giratina's main job on teams is to weaken things with Dragon STAB, and to finish off weakened things with priority. Since Giratina cripples things for sweeps, you need the sweepers! Darkrai makes a fantastic partner, as it not only resists Ghost and Dark, but it also makes a phenominal special sweeper with its huge base special attack. Also, Darkrai can put faster Dragon-types to sleep, incapacitating them for a Giratina Draco Meteor. Ho-oh is another good partner, as Sacred Fire plows down Steels that can take Draco Meteors, as sometimes Hidden Power Fire is not enough, especially in Rain. Ho-oh can also be a good physical sweeper once the opposing team is weakened. Genesect, with it's intense coverage, can be a good counterpart to Giratina, as it can plow down Dragons with Ice Beam, and it can demolish Steels with Flamethrower. Also, the U-Turning momentum can further help wear down threats for a sweep with a threat such as Ho-oh or Darkrai. What counters it: As said above, fast Dragons are a good "check" to Giratina, as it is an easy revenge kill with their Super Effective STAB moves. However, you cannot switch these in under any other circumstances, as predicting this switch can be deadly as you wouldn't want to lose that Dragon. Lugia can tank pretty much anything Giratina will use, as even SE Shadow Sneaks are like mosquitos to be swatted away. Since Lugia carries Ice Beam, staying in is a horrible idea. Also, certain Arceus formes are more than bulky enough to live a hit. Plus, many have SE Judgements, such as Ghost or Dark formes. The Steel Arceus is also a very good check, as it resists Giratina's dual STAB and takes pitiful damage from HP Fire. Tyranitar can also act as a solid check to the set above, as you lack Earthquake. However, taking Draco Meteors isn't exactly fun for Tyranitar. Additional info: If you want, Dragon Pulse can be used if you plan on staying in for the long haul, however the immediate power of Draco Meteor is often crucial. Shadow Claw can be used, but it is still relatively weak and it lacks the priority of Shadow Sneak. Earthquake is an option to handle Tyranitar, but losing HP Fire leaves you helpless against Ferrothorn. Giratina-O can simply Sub up in front of the Special wall, and laugh as none of its attacks will be able to touch it. It can then proceed to nab Calm Mind boosts and OHKO the foolish wall with an Aura Sphere if it chooses to stay in. If Chansey flees, the next Pokemon coming in will find it facing a monster with a Substitute and Calm Mind up. Since Chansey is the main, Pokemon that stall teams go to for sponging strong Special Attacks, stall will be hard pressed to phaze this beast, and will succumb before it or lose a good bit of its walling power in killing it. Good Teammates: Giratina-O greatly appreciates hazard support. Stealth Rock and Spikes will make it easier to wear down stall. In particular, it lessens the threat of Regenerator Ho-oh and Multiscale Lugia, two Pokemon who may have ease phazing Giratina-O out without Stealth Rock support. Since Giratina-O is meant to break stall, it doesn't really need much support but it rather Supports its team mates by breaking stall's near invincible structure and weakening it for something else to clean up. Scarf Salamence in particular is an excellent partner. It can easily KO one weakened member of a stall team and proceed to start the snowball effect with Moxie and KO the rest. What counters it: Calm Mind Dark Arceus and Calm Mind Steel Arceus will always beat Giratina-O in a Calm Mind war and proceed to annoy the other team greatly if Giratina-O chooses to make both of them setup to +6. Other Calm Mind Arceus forms not weak to Giratina-O's STAB moves are also an annoyance to Giratina-O, since with Recover, they almost gurantee themselves a victory in a Calm Mind war, and can then lay their Judgment on the team that dare challenged their divine rule. Additional Info: The choice between Dragon Pulse and Shadow Ball really depends on what your more afraid of. Both moves when combined provide perfect coverage, but they hit different things super effectively. If you want Giratina-O to continue reliably checking Mewtwo and have an easier time at beating Lugia, Shadow Ball is the superior option. If you really fear random Choice Scarf Dragons ending your Calm Mind sweep, then go for Dragon Pulse since at +1 it will OHKO every Dragon in the Uber tier. The 248 EVs are chosen to have Giratina-O's Substitutes have the best chance at surviving a Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball, if you feel this is too much EV investment for such a rare attack, then you can allocate some of those EVs into Speed, so that it can outspeed more Pokemon with its "speed creep". By mr.lol Lures [SET] Kyogre @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def Modest Nature - Substitute - Calm Mind - Hydro Pump / Surf / Scald - Ice Beam / Thunder Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker, Lure What it does: Kyogre is generally known for its ability to run a mean Choiced set, but that doesn't mean it can't take the defensive route and setup with Calm Mind! With Substitute preventing status, Leech Seed, and Dragon Tail phazing, Kyogre has little trouble setting up Calm Minds after it has made a sturdy Substitute. As enemy stall teams struggles to break its Substitute, Kyogre can unleash its fury in the coverage it desires. After obtaining a single Calm Mind, Kyogre's attacks will grow so powerful, to the point where they can do insane things, like 2HKO Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock and 2HKO Latias with Ice Beam. This Kyogre is even capable of beating Latias lacking Roar, Psyshock, or Thunder, in a Calm Mind war, a feat other Special stallbreakers have trouble boasting. This Kyogre is no slouch when against offensive teams either, by using Calm Mind Kyogre becomes so ridiculously bulky to the point where it can even beat its number one "check", Choice Scarf Palkia, and if you can get rid of a lot of strong physical attackers late game, well then this Kyogre might just sweep the opposition! Good Teammates: Calm Mind Grass Arceus and Calm Mind Latias utilizing Roar, Psyshock, or Thunder can really dampen this Kyogre's mood (pun intended). Team mates that can remove these Pokemon are really appreciated by Kyogre. Ferrothorn, can easily take care of any Latias lacking Substitute with the combination of Gyro Ball and Leech Seed while also being capable of setting up Spikes to assist Kyogre in sweeping the opposition. Jirachi can do a job similar to Ferrothorn, exchanging the ability to setup Spikes for crippling Grass Arceus and providing Wish support to Kyogre. Mewtwo and Calm Mind Psychic Arceus can also easily rid stray Latias and Grass Arceus by challenging them to a Calm Mind war in which they will inevitably win. Poison-types also make good team mates as they can rid the field of Toxic Spikes, meaning that Kyogre will not have to fear being statused upon entering the battlefield. What counters it: As mentioned several times, Calm Mind Latias and Calm Mind Grass Arceus can start a Calm Mind war with Kyogre that they will inevitably win. Toxic Spikes will put Kyogre at a time limit, limiting its lifespan and making it difficult for Kyogre to setup Substitutes. Additonal Info: The choice between Hydro Pump, Surf, and Scald is based on the good old Power vs. Accuracy argument. Hydro Pump 2HKOes Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rocks, making it a solid choice, but its low PP hurts and its low accuracy is a nuisance. Scald is much more reliable option, but a little weak. Its real shining point is that it assists Kyogre's ability to get more Calm Minds if it successfully burns Ferrothorn. Surf is a hybrid in terms of power between Scald and Hydro Pump, and is viable as it is capable of 2HKOing things like Wobbufett and enemy Calm Mind Arceus that Scald fails to 2HKO. The choice between Thunder and Ice Beam is based on what you want to hit. Without Ice Beam you lose to enemy Zekrom, all variants of Latias, and have difficulty injuring Giratina-a, but without Thunder you may struggle against enemy Kyogre and Manaphy. Good Teammates: Darkrai is not one of those Pokemon that enjoy support but offer other Pokemon support by getting rid of the revenge-killer in a game. Pokemon that are typically annoyed of revenge-killers, like Dragon Dance Rayquaza and Calm Mind Mewtwo, appreciate Darkrai's ability to send revenge-killers and cripple opposing Pokemon on stall teams, as that will allows them to have an easier time sweeping later on. If there is any support Darkrai appreciates, its Calm Mind Ghost Arceus support. Whats so special about Calm Mind Ghost Arceus you ask? It boasts being one of the few things that can wall Heracross with a Guts boost while being able to boast an offensive presence high enough so that it will not easily lose momentum for the team Darkrai is on. It also appreciates Darkrai's Trick crippling its #1 counter, Chansey. What counters it: Tentacruel using Black Sludge, Choice Scarf Shaymin, and Choice Scarf Heracross all are capable of beating Darkrai. Tentacruel can easily absorb the Trick Darkrai intends to use on it and can proceed to wall Darkrai in the rain, as the damage its unboosted Pulses do is barely scratches its defenses. Choice Scarf Shaymin is able to outspeed and beat Darkrai should it be able to flinch Darkrai once with Air Slash. Lastly, Heracross is capable of switching into any move Darkrai tries to use on it and can OHKO it the turn after with Sleep Talk or one of is STAB moves. Additional Info: The choice between Nasty Plot, Substitute, and Focus Blast is up to the Darkrai user's preference and teams needs. If you still want Darkrai to have a shot at sweeping the other team then Nasty Plot is the way to go. Some might say that Kyurem-B does this job better by having STAB Ice Beam and a stronger Dragon Claw / Outrage but no, Groudon would think twice before switching in fearing the Ice STAB. If one decides to run Kyurem-B, then the job is changed to Wallbreaker. This set, like I stated, is a lure but will still work on its own. One job that Zekrom can perform is to possibly OHKO 252/252+ Lugia with Bolt Strike (90.86 - 107.21%) through Multiscale thanks to Teravolt. It can also OHKO Giratina-O with Dragon Claw after Stealth Rock Damage. But with the power comes the cost of speed. One must take note that this Zekrom is designed to lure and destroy checks and counters, not to sweep or revenge kill. Good Teammates: Other physical sweepers that hate the presence of Groudon namely, Excadrill, Rayquaza and Physical Arceus. It could work with Rain teams having Swift Swimmers as Groudon removes their oh-so-precious rain. This set could also work against teams having trouble with Lugia. Now that Multiscale is released, the incredibly hard to 2HKO Lugia just got bulkier. Wish passers are absolutely needed if you plan on keeping Zekrom alive, especially against stall teams in which case Blissey/Chansey is better thanks to access to a cleric move. What counters it: Anything faster with a super effective move. After a -2, Ferrothorn and Groudon could completely wall this set as they take barely nothing and can set up entry hazards or just OHKO with Earthquake respectively. Additional Info: Other than the said roles on the team, Zekrom could also be used to bash holes in the opponent's team leading to a sweep late game by a teammate. Excadrill would work best here since it really enjoys the absence of / a weakened Groudon, Skarmory and/or Giratina which are all KOed by Zekrom's attacks. Zekrom could also run Hidden Power Fire to nail Ferrothorn under harsh sunlight will make you weather dependent and is totally piss weak while raining. If these aren't enough to you, Zekrom is an excellent Ho-Oh check if it doesn't pack Earthquake as Zekrom resists both of its STAB and can just KO back with Bolt Strike. By pwnage77 [SET] Dialga @ Choice Specs Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spe Modest Nature - Draco Meteor - Thunder - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere / Earth Power / Dragon Pulse - Fire Blast / Aura Sphere / Earth Power / Dragon Pulse Role: Wallbreaker, Lure What it does: Dialga's often known as your standard, go-to guy for a good Stealth Rock user, but that doesn't mean it can't take full advantage of that massive base 150 Special Attack stat everyone seems to overlook. By taking advantage of its unique variety of resistances, Dialga can find plenty of opportunities to waltz into the field and then proceed to smash an unsuspecting foe with a Draco Meteor that nothing but Chansey can comfortably stomach. If the enemy team lacks Chansey, his Lugia, Ho-oh, or even Support Arceus will not last long if they decide to switch into this guy. Good Teammates: Dialga can easily get rid of any and every wall that exists barring Chansey, so Pokemon that can get rid of Chansey are appreciated. Partnering Dialga up with Groudon is actually a great idea. Groudon can use his massive base 150 Attack stat to bounce plow right through the blob and it benefits from the removal or weakening of Lugia and it can then proceed to Swords Dance and Rock Polish to start a sweep. As an additional benefit, Dialga now can boost the power of its Fire Blasts, so that it will become an even harder for it to wall. What counters it: Chansey and Blissey annoy this set greatly as already mentioned, as they can just waltz in and thanks to their ridiculously high Defenses, shrug off a Draco Meteor. They must be careful not to have sustained too much damage earlier however, as they can be 2HKOed by Draco Meteor if they are at around 40% HP after entry hazards have taken effect. Additional Info: You probably are laughing at the slashitis in the set, wondering why you would use any move over there when you have the power of that awesome Draco Meteor combined with Thunder for coverage. Well the other moves are there for auxillary coverage, and are pretty useful if you can't sustain rain or another weather or unexpected threat happens to show up. Fire Blast and Aura Sphere allow Dialga to obliterate enemy Ferrothorn, Earth Power removes Heatran without fail, while Dragon Pulse is a more reliable STAB that may even help Dialga clean up weakened teams. Lastly, if running 4 Speed EVs is not your thing and you want to run a "speed creep" then you can remove EVs from HP and put them in Speed but be noted that Dialga's main niche is its ability to take advantage of its resistances and Defenses to come in frequently in the match. Removing HP EVs only hinders its ability to do that niche. Well with this much power and the ability to switch attacks, Dialga will be causing a good number of switches, therefore allowing it to easily get up Stealth Rocks. No spinner or Magic Bounce user wants to stay in and confront this beast, as all that do will be swiftly knocked aside with a Draco Meteor, or if your Forretress, a Fire Blast. Good Teammates: Tyranitar is a fantastic partners for two reasons. One, it capitalizes off of Groudon's disappearance and can setup his own weather. Two, he can deal with the two of the leads Dialga has trouble with, Deoxys-S leads and Darkrai leads. Kyogre also is a decent partner, it can switch in after the enemy Groudon has died and setup rain which allows plenty of Swift Swimmers to ready themselves for a sweep. What counters it: Very little Pokemon can both beat Dialga and stop it from setting up Stealth Rock. Fist Plate Arceus can lead against Dialga and OHKO it with a super-effective Judgment, preventing it from doing anything in the match. Deoxys-a can do a similar job, OHKOing with a strong Super Power and it can use its offenses to even setup Stealth Rock after it has taken Dialga out, rendering it useless. Deoxys-S can Taunt Dialga to prevent it from setting up Stealth Rock and can live a Draco Meteor thanks to its Focus Sash and proceed to setup Stealth Rock. It will not, however, be able to kill Dialga. It can only neuter its leading capabilities and remove any surprise factor, preventing the potential loss of any Pokemon. Additional Info: The Modest nature on Dialga lets it get the highest chance possible to OHKO 252 HP Groudon, but a Timid nature is also viable simply because it gives Dialga the best chance it has to outspeed Groudon and allows it to outspeed certain Rayquaza variants. The EVs are all invested in Speed to give Dialga the highest chance to outspeed Groudon, however if you still want to add more bulk, you can subtract Speed EVs to throw them into HP, this isn't reccomended however is this Dialga is not meant to stay alive for long, more of act as a suicide lead that helps control the weather. The slashes on the moves may again seem awkward by they also have their purpose. Dragon Pulse allows you to kill off stuff weak to Dragon moves like Palkia and Rayquaza while retaining the ability to randomly nuke something with a Draco Meteor. Thunder on the other hand provides great coverage with Dragon Pulse and can be used to hit Kyogre, Ho-oh, and Lugia hard without having to resort to Draco Meteor. Fire Blast, Aura Sphere, and Earth Power are all moves for hitting Steel-types. Go with Fire Blast if you hate Forretress and Ferrothorn with a passion and Earth Power if you want to actually hurt Heatran. Aura Sphere is the hybrid of the two, but keep in mind Dialga's lessened bulk really means it likes to keep its OHKOes more then 2HKO everything, so in this case, the hybrid is actually an option generally inferior to the others. By mr.lol [SET] Rayquaza @ Life Orb Trait: Air Lock EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd Mild Nature - Dragon Dance - Draco Meteor - Outrage - Fire Blast / Earthquake Role: Wallbreaker, Mixed Attacker, Late-game Cleaner, Lure What it does: The goal of this Rayquaza is to basically serve as a lure and stallbreaker mid- and early-game, and if it gets the chance, to sweep late-game. Since Groudon and other physical walls are the #1 switch-ins for DD Rayquaza, this set utilizes that for its own favor. Once the opponent sees that Rayquaza used Dragon Dance, he will switch in Groudon, which has only 12.5% to survive Draco Meteor. Lugia is also a common switch-in, but Great Wall Lugia takes 56% minimum from Draco Meteor, leaving it severely damaged after Stealth Rock. By these walls weakened, ExtremeKiller Arceus, Moxie Salamence, and more physical sweepers can sweep with much more ease. Good Teammates: As said, Pokemon that appreciate the weakening of walls such as Groudon and Lugia are good partners. Thanks to the surprise factor this set has in Draco Meteor, Rayquaza excels in removing Groudon off the field and weakening Lugia. Rapid Spin support is also much appreciated, as it increases Rayquaza's lifespan on the battleground. Forretress makes a fantastic candidate for this role, as it can also set up hazards of its own and use Volt Switch to bring Rayquaza in safely. What counters it: Anything faster than this Rayquaza at +1 should do the trick. Scarf Genesect, Salamence, Palkia, and Terrakion are all fantastic examples that can come in and threaten Rayquaza. Ditto can copy all of Rayquaza's boosts and still be faster thanks to Choice Scarf. If not using Earthquake, Heatran can take a +1 Outrage or Draco Meteor, and poison Rayquaza with Toxic, but as no way to recover the damage. By Furai Stallbreakers [SET] Kyogre @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def Modest Nature - Substitute - Calm Mind - Hydro Pump / Surf / Scald - Ice Beam / Thunder Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker, Lure What it does: Kyogre is generally known for its ability to run a mean Choiced set, but that doesn't mean it can't take the defensive route and setup with Calm Mind! With Substitute preventing status, Leech Seed, and Dragon Tail phazing, Kyogre has little trouble setting up Calm Minds after it has made a sturdy Substitute. As enemy stall teams struggles to break its Substitute, Kyogre can unleash its fury in the coverage it desires. After obtaining a single Calm Mind, Kyogre's attacks will grow so powerful, to the point where they can do insane things, like 2HKO Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rock and 2HKO Latias with Ice Beam. This Kyogre is even capable of beating Latias lacking Roar, Psyshock, or Thunder, in a Calm Mind war, a feat other Special stallbreakers have trouble boasting. This Kyogre is no slouch when against offensive teams either, by using Calm Mind Kyogre becomes so ridiculously bulky to the point where it can even beat its number one "check", Choice Scarf Palkia, and if you can get rid of a lot of strong physical attackers late game, well then this Kyogre might just sweep the opposition! Good Teammates: Calm Mind Grass Arceus and Calm Mind Latias utilizing Roar, Psyshock, or Thunder can really dampen this Kyogre's mood (pun intended). Team mates that can remove these Pokemon are really appreciated by Kyogre. Ferrothorn, can easily take care of any Latias lacking Substitute with the combination of Gyro Ball and Leech Seed while also being capable of setting up Spikes to assist Kyogre in sweeping the opposition. Jirachi can do a job similar to Ferrothorn, exchanging the ability to setup Spikes for crippling Grass Arceus and providing Wish support to Kyogre. Mewtwo and Calm Mind Psychic Arceus can also easily rid stray Latias and Grass Arceus by challenging them to a Calm Mind war in which they will inevitably win. Poison-types also make good team mates as they can rid the field of Toxic Spikes, meaning that Kyogre will not have to fear being statused upon entering the battlefield. What counters it: As mentioned several times, Calm Mind Latias and Calm Mind Grass Arceus can start a Calm Mind war with Kyogre that they will inevitably win. Toxic Spikes will put Kyogre at a time limit, limiting its lifespan and making it difficult for Kyogre to setup Substitutes. Additonal Info: The choice between Hydro Pump, Surf, and Scald is based on the good old Power vs. Accuracy argument. Hydro Pump 2HKOes Chansey and Ferrothorn after Stealth Rocks, making it a solid choice, but its low PP hurts and its low accuracy is a nuisance. Scald is much more reliable option, but a little weak. Its real shining point is that it assists Kyogre's ability to get more Calm Minds if it successfully burns Ferrothorn. Surf is a hybrid in terms of power between Scald and Hydro Pump, and is viable as it is capable of 2HKOing things like Wobbufett and enemy Calm Mind Arceus that Scald fails to 2HKO. The choice between Thunder and Ice Beam is based on what you want to hit. Without Ice Beam you lose to enemy Zekrom, all variants of Latias, and have difficulty injuring Giratina-a, but without Thunder you may struggle against enemy Kyogre and Manaphy. Giratina-O can simply Sub up in front of the Special wall, and laugh as none of its attacks will be able to touch it. It can then proceed to nab Calm Mind boosts and OHKO the foolish wall with an Aura Sphere if it chooses to stay in. If Chansey flees, the next Pokemon coming in will find it facing a monster with a Substitute and Calm Mind up. Since Chansey is the main, Pokemon that stall teams go to for sponging strong Special Attacks, stall will be hard pressed to phaze this beast, and will succumb before it or lose a good bit of its walling power in killing it. Good Teammates: Giratina-O greatly appreciates hazard support. Stealth Rock and Spikes will make it easier to wear down stall. In particular, it lessens the threat of Regenerator Ho-oh and Multiscale Lugia, two Pokemon who may have ease phazing Giratina-O out without Stealth Rock support. Since Giratina-O is meant to break stall, it doesn't really need much support but it rather Supports its team mates by breaking stall's near invincible structure and weakening it for something else to clean up. Scarf Salamence in particular is an excellent partner. It can easily KO one weakened member of a stall team and proceed to start the snowball effect with Moxie and KO the rest. What counters it: Calm Mind Dark Arceus and Calm Mind Steel Arceus will always beat Giratina-O in a Calm Mind war and proceed to annoy the other team greatly if Giratina-O chooses to make both of them setup to +6. Other Calm Mind Arceus forms not weak to Giratina-O's STAB moves are also an annoyance to Giratina-O, since with Recover, they almost gurantee themselves a victory in a Calm Mind war, and can then lay their Judgment on the team that dare challenged their divine rule. Additional Info: The choice between Dragon Pulse and Shadow Ball really depends on what your more afraid of. Both moves when combined provide perfect coverage, but they hit different things super effectively. If you want Giratina-O to continue reliably checking Mewtwo and have an easier time at beating Lugia, Shadow Ball is the superior option. The idea when using this Darkrai is to sleep a Pokemon, effectively "killing it" due to the new sleep mechanics, then proceed to setup a Substitute or Nasty Plot, and hit the incoming Pokemon for massive damage. This Darkrai is the true reason why every team in Ubers needs a revenge killer. Good Teammates: This Darkrai really has only one big issue, revenge killers. So Darkrai appreciates Pokemon that can get rid of enemy Revenge killers. In particular, Darkrai enjoys Wobbufett support. Wobbufett can not only effectively remove Choice Scarf Pokemon from the game, it can also aid Darkrai in setting up after it has sent something to sleep thanks to its access to Encore and Shadow Tag. This Darkrai also appreciates teammates that can provide Stealth Rock and Spikes support. Deoxys-S makes a fine user of these hazards, as combining the two anti-leads together on the same team means chaos for the enemy when he glances at team preview. What counters it: Choice Scarf Heracross is Darkrai's only true "counter". Its ability to absorb a Dark Void and use it for setting up a guts boost and proceed to kill it the turn after with Sleep Talk truly allows it to render Darkrai useless when it is against it. If you cannot afford to pack a Heracross on to a team that does not mean you cannot beat Darkrai. Darkrai can easily be revenge-killed after Sleep Clause has come into effect, since at that point, it can do nothing to stop the incoming Pokemon who intends to OHKO Darkrai before it can move. Additional Info: The moves slashed onto Darkrai may seem a bit strange but they all have a purpose. Substitute allows the Darkrai user to scout what Pokemon the enemy intends to send into Darkrai after it has sent something to sleep, allowing Darkrai to quickly harm the revenge-killer and retreat. Nasty Plot boosts Darkrai's Special Attack to enormous levels, allowing it to sweep. Focus Blast provides near perfect coverage with Dark Pulse, easing Darkrai's ability to sweep should it get a Nasty Plot up successfully. The item choice may also seem a bit odd but they too have their uses. Darkrai makes a fantastic anti-lead, and Focus Sash aids its ability to anti-lead as that lets it bypass and send a Pokemon faster then it to sleep. Life Orb eases Darkrai's ability to sweep but when used in conjunction with Substitute may make it look suicidal. If you do decide to use Substitute, Leftovers is recommended, as it allows Darkrai to make five Substitutes instead of four while also increasing its longevity. By mr.lol [SET] Latias (F) @ Soul Dew Trait: Levitate EVs: 200 HP / 56 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Calm Mind - Recover - Dragon Pulse - Refresh Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker What it does: Latias is an awesome Calm Minder, but status puts it to a halt. Not with Refresh! With Refresh, Latias sets up against everything it once had to flee in fear from, such as Chansey, Toxic Forretress and Tentacruel, and CM Arceus formes sans Ghost, Dark, and Bug. Mono-Dragon coverage is excellent in a metagame where there are few Steel-types that can even harm it. Literally the only Steel-type in the game not 2HKOed by Dragon Pulse at +6 is 252/252+ Arceus-Steel, and even that is only if Stealth Rock is absent. With power like that, only minimum Special Attack investment is needed. 56 EVs guarantee the OHKO against 0/0 Palkia at +0 after SR damage, and allows for the 2HKO against that Arceus set after SR, but if you don't need that you can always run full HP investment. This added bulk makes it far easier to set up multiple CM boosts, and without Toxic to put a timer on Latias, most stall teams are crushed beneath Latias's blows. Its excellent Speed means that no enemy Dragon-types can take advantage of Latias's weaker defenses at +0 unless they are using a Choice Scarf. If you feel like stall is giving your team problems, give Latias a try and watch stall teams melt away! Good Teammates: Latias needs powerful physical threats, such as Extreme Killer Arceus and Zekrom, removed before it can pull off a sweep. Terrakion can beat Arceus to death while also softening up Steel-types. As for Zekrom, a Steel-type of your own, such as Ferrothorn, can eat Zekrom's Outrages all day and cripple it with Thunder Wave or slowly sap its health with Leech Seed and Iron Barbs. It can also set hazards to help Latias gain more KOs. What counters it: Anything faster with a physical attack, such as SD Arceus formes, Scarf Zekrom, and Genesect, can outspeed and deal harsh damage to Latias. Arceus can set up on Latias if it hasn't boosted yet, and then knock it out with an ExtremeSpeed. Zekrom can use Outrage to squash Latias easily. Genesect gets an Attack boost from Download and has U-turn to abuse it with, but since its Attack stat is usually uninvested, it requires some prior damage to score a KO.
