Choice Gengar might not be common, but I have seen maybe Choice Alakazam, as well as Latias and Magnezone. Their STAB choice attacks are much more common than Perish Song Politoed. From my experience anyone who runs Perish Song on Politoed is so excited that they finally get to use Perish Song they forget about Mr. Mime entirely. Most Politoed's that run Perish Song aren't Spec'd so I don't expect them to be dealing a ton of damage to Mr. Mime with 252 hp and spdf. It is possible to get burned and make two bad predictions on Politoed and be left with a cripplied Mr. Mime, but am I really losing because of my team comp or because I am being outplayed? I agree Umbreon's spot on my team could use a lot of improvement, but its not Politoed and Hazer's that are my biggest threats. Its the much more common Choice Spec's and Dark Pokemon that are the conflict. If you could find a set on Mew that would allow it to cover these threats, it would be greatly appreciated. :)
Also, I'm not sure if forcing Espeon to work without recovery is a viable option. Having played over 5000 games with this comp, Espeon's survival is truly critical to success against 7/10 teams. If Espeon is my only attacker, besides Vaporeon, and it dies, how do I finish the game? I admit Moonlight is unreliable, but I am currently testing Rest + Chesto Berry and it seems to work well.
In all I appreciate the suggestions, but the entire picture must be considered before swapping Pokemon. Mew might stop Politoed but it opens bigger problems in my team. I know, I've tried Taunt Mew and Celebi before Umbreon! STAB Shadow or Dark attacks just destroy a team that has 3 Psychic types.
