I think that really comes to down how incredibly poor the majority of ladder players are. Even with random shit thrown together as long as you have decent movesets and play to an ok level you will win more than you lose. Then there's the amount of times someone else will disconnect or simply forfeit for no reason and maintaining a positive record seems almost mandatory.
