I'm surprised no one has mentioned Latias as a Venusaur check yet. It's bulky, resists Giga Drain and HP Fire and is versatile enough to do whatever you would like it to do; it can set up on most EQ Venusaur with CM, can run Sub to shield itself from status variants (Sleep Powder/Leech Seed), and can phaze +2 Venusaur out with Roar. It's no slouch offensively either so you're not killing your momentum.
