Hello everyone! Have you ever wanted to tell everyone you were the best? Ever want to know who the greatest at BW Little Cup actually is? Now here’s your chance! Today we’re presenting you with an opportunity to strut your stuff, and really show everyone that you are in fact the best. This is: The Little Cup Player Ranking thread.
Now, how do you show yourself off as the best? Well, we will be ranking every participant in this thread overall. The three criteria from ranking will be overall performance in the Little Cups (starting from Cup 2), ladder ranking, and performance in any and all challenges we start up. You will be told if these challenges affect your overall ranking.
Your ranking will be determined by the number of points you have. Points will be given through performance in all three of the listed criteria. Your ladder performance will be more heavily weighted than your cups performance.
POINTS for Little Cups
Points received in Little Cups will be calculated similarly to those of the Smogon Tour. You will receive one point for every round you win.
For example, in a 32 man tour, the tour will be split into 5 rounds (32 man, 16 man, 8 man, 4 man, 2 man). Being eliminated in the first round gives you 0 points, being eliminated in the second round gives you 1 point, being eliminated in the third round gives you 2 points, being eliminated in the fourth round gives you 3 points, being eliminated in the final round gives you 4 points, and winning the final round gives you 5 points.
For this reason, Little Cups will be more standardized. The deadlines will be set in stone (but if all matches are completed prior to the deadline, that is very much acceptable). There might be an extension given for extenuating circumstances, but those will be the exception, not the standard. The Little Cups OP will be updated to include this passage.
POINTS for Ladder
Obtaining points on the ladder will start and end when that corresponding Little Cup starts and ends. At the end of every cycle, the top 5 ranked alts on the ladder will be rewarded with points. First place will receive 10 points, second place will receive 8 points, third place will receive 6 points, fourth place will receive 4 points, and fifth place will receive 2 points.
If you ladder a fresh alt to 1950 ACRE with 75 or less deviation, post a screenshot in this thread. For every alt that you do so in, you get a point. If any of these alts are in the top 5 at the end of the round, they will not receive this bonus.
While the ladder will not be reset every cycle, your standing will be. As in, you MUST use a new alt to ladder every cycle if you want to be included in that cycle. It does not matter whether you sign up for a cycle right away, or on the last day--as long as you are laddering on a new alt and place before I check the final top 5, you are okay. Please post whatever alt you are using for that cycle in this thread. If you manage to ladder more than one new alt to the top 5, you will receive points for both alts.
Now, besides the glory and prestige of standing at the top of your little brethren, what happens if you’re in the top? Every so often we will be having a highlight match! The nominations for the highlight match will include the top 5 in standings at the time. In this thread, just like with BotW, there will be a poll of those five people, and we will vote for them. The top two will play to show off the skills of some of the top Little Cup players! The replays or logs of each match will be analyzed and discussed to show everyone what these two great battlers were thinking or planning.
