I only completely read through the Red/Blue and Yellow arcs, and then read here and there for the rest of it.

I really really liked how they portrayed Mewtwo; how he was able to really express himself without talking. (At least in those arcs, I believe he started talking later on in FRLG) And his spoon...

Also, this manga made me like Venusaur. I hadn't really given him a second thought but he was so badass and now he's like my favorite :D

As for moments, I really liked all of the major fights that involved Team Rocket. Like the Silph Co battle, and the Elite Four battle. I loved how the fights were serious and intense (like Arbok getting sliced open). I loved how much the trainers were in to battles even though they weren't fighting themselves. Instead of just standing on the sidelines and shouting orders like in the anime, they ran around, stayed close the Pokemon, and the trainers themselves are attacked tons of times.

All in all, I liked that it was very serious and, dare I say, realistic, compared to the anime.
