In case an opponent uses Chandelure in his opening, Shiftry Fakes out the other Pokemon while Ninetales uses Hypnosis on Chandelure. Ninetales is free to use Hypnosis on the other Pokemon on the next turn while Shiftry Rock Slides. I usually use Snorlax and Cloyster along with them so that I would have a back up bulky Pokemon.
