This is wrong. In interviews, GameFreak have stated they will continue to make Pokémon as long as it makes money. They have absolutely zero reason to stop now, as Pokémon is a giant cash cow for the studio.

I think you're hyping it a little too high up. Similar announcements of announcements have turned out to be Event Pokémon in the past. Perhaps all this hype is for Volt Tackle Emolga or something equally ridiculous.

I think this is game-related, though, but I agree it's a little too early for a new main series game, and certainly too early for a new generation. Either way, I think we'll get a hint as to where the Anime is headed.

Actually, for the most part, those where the SAME models. Apart from big legendaries and Pikachu, the studios hardly care to update the models between games. Almost 700 models is a lot to keep track of, so they reuse models and animations where they can. This is also the reason why there are so few textures on the models: plain colours are "cheaper", both to make and to store as data.
