Exactly, but I'm not talking about nuzlocke here, just normal play with caring about EVs. When I pick 1 team from the start and only catch/use those, they seem more like tools then pokemon. In a nuzlocke, that's entirely different as you don't get to choose and they're your life. I know that feeling, and it's much better. But I tend to do not many nuzlockes as (a) I don't have a way of emulating, (b) I don't like resetting my games, (c), I tend to beat games non-nuzlocke in a first play through, and (d) I end up loving those pokemon so much that I hate to see them die.

EDIT: Plus, playing with proper rules, I couldn't be sure of catching any of my favorite pokemon.
