probably the FR/LG rival? quite annoying when your pokemon are weakened from just finishing a battle, you're running to that bridge in Cerulean, you haven't saved in ages, and BOOM. Rival has pokemon that would be weak, but you're weak. And I hang on with 2 HP. -.-

Another one I used to hate is in RSE when you make a mad dash for the exit of Victory Road, not healing because you see the exit. And bam, here comes Wally.

In Emerald, he is around the beginning. In the others, he is at the end.

What about your rival in GSC? He was right at the end of Victory Road too. But he could have been harder if there were any trainers in the GSC Victory Road.

has anyone else noticed(and this applies to all gens) that nurse joy always says "we hope to see you again soon." like they want your pokemon to get masacred?

I am doing my first ever run though GSC currently, and honestly, the rival from GSC is awesome. So cold and heartless, he's just amazing so far, and I'm only 6 gyms in.

The lucario from the fighting gym in pearl... I think that's the only time I ever had trouble with an npc. I even had infernape too...

The guy in Vermilion City with the Machop that can NEVER stomp the land flat enough to suit his tastes... come on, he's still there 3 YEARS later when you pass through in GSC. That's dedication and patience in the extreme.

This is actually for FRLG, and isn't a character you can talk to/meet in-game, but the idiot on the Teachy TV. God, he was so annoying. <___<

Also, the dude at the Team Rocket base in the Game Corner. "Whoops, I dropped the lift key!"

The double battle at the end of Victory Road in Emerald with skill swap Gardevoir and Slaking. Easily the hardest NPC battle, especially when all your Pokemon are at red HP/PP and you're rushing to heal up from all the other trainer battles in Victory Road.

Of course, you can fight them one by one, but there's no fun in that!

The best NPCs are those assholes that block your way. Like the guy outside Pewter City or the guy stopping you from going to the Icy Path. They're so strong. You may be able to conquer legendary Pokemon but you still can't get past one asshole NPC.

The Old Man in Viridian City hands down. I mean he complains, helps you glitch your items, man he even falls down to block the road and stuff. Who knew such an old geezer can give you so much trouble, yet help your Rare Candy stock pile shoot through the roof hehe :D
