Here's a fun match I had, using one of my... shall we say more gimmicky teams? This was played on PO's Dream World ladder, so that means any DW abilities are allowed and Team Preview is disabled. I call this my "mono attack" team. Because everything on it only uses one attack. Notable for a brilliant Purrloin sweep at the end!

Just fought Taylor today... he had a REALLY weird hyper offensive team (probably testing stuff, I dunno), which threw me off guard in the beginning. I got my Gyarados maimed in the process (I thought his Latios would Memento), which was not good. I still kept Gyarados around, which actually helped a lot.

I'm posting this b/c it was a down-to-the-wire match. The crit from Lucario's ExtremeSpeed on my Heatran actually allowed Taylor to clutch the win in the end, which I did not notice until I looked it over. GG regardless.
what the fuck was that latios set? that has got to be the weirdest thing i have seen in a while. real taylor?

that was a good battle though, also left me wondering about the cloyster set, no razor shell / hydro pump?

yea, he probably had ice shard? I was expecting a water move, too, so I was not planning on winning after Sash kept Cloyster alive.

It's a funky-ass team, though. Scarf Haxorus, CB Nite, Sash Cloyster (I mean he doesn't have Deoxys-S to taunt Spikers / SR leads) without Water STAB? If I had Jirachi in conjunction with Gyarados, I can pretty much wall that team.

Yea, he was probably testing stuff. He was in the high 1400s, so I think it's the real taylor, lol.

I liked some of the predictions me and my opponent made in this game, it was a scary win. If I hadn't done some of the things I've done I would have lost easy.

http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-Blo...GC--2011-09-18

We both had some misplays and I got some luck on it but this win really made me thought I could get to 1450, facing one of the best using the heavily popular rain stall that I feared.

http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-Jac...--2011-10-09-1

Getting graped by a TR Reuniclus early on and being down 5-2 didn't look pretty. x_x I was able to pull a cool comeback, yea I got some hax and some of his move choices were a bit weird but nevertheless I felt pumped after that one.

Yeah, if it's the same cloyster as in my battle, it had Ice Shard. Cool battle, and I'm using that Latios :)

those are some very good replays afro. i'm very iffy about the third one though, if he had used a standard SD luke you would've lost, but that tr cm reuniclus was awesome.

edit: this was posted in the ubers forum very recently and i feel it needs more attention: http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-toy...vate2129995734

a very good ubers match showing how lethal of a stallbreaker subcm giratina is. also showcases the importances of getting your damn hazards down.

http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-rey...--2011-10-22-2

rey vs rainbow dash (whom i have a sneaking suspicion to be faladran? i'm probably wrong though) a 4th gen OU match, rey gets haxed at the end in an incredibly amusing fashion.

http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-rey...--2011-10-22-1

same players, 5th gen standard OU. shows the lethality of subprotect gliscor but it was really down to the wire, shows smart play from both sides and if it was standard gliscor rey probably would have won.

I disagree, i watched it on the ladder and here and now, and there were plenty of mistakes that you didn't really have to make.

Yup, I know of at least two at the end.

I meant the beginning actually.

Second time i'm saying this-why didn't you go to bandzor on the obvious aura sphere? You knew he had it because he set up in your face. Then, why;d you use shadow ball? Even if he switched into gastro, still wouldn't matter much.

>_< (facepalm) on the first. If I had to redo those first two turns over again, I would have switched to Scizor and used U-Turn.

shouldn't you have switched out to scizor at the end so you could use BP and then just spam Ice Shard for the win?

Heres a replay of my UU team in the game that got into the top 100 of the rankings over at the pokemon online server.
http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-jon...or--2011-10-30

Pretty much me spending the entire game trying to Spin so that my Yanmega could sweep.
Yanmega for OU

Who here has a replay from the CAP metagame? There was some Tomohawk testing on our server on PO, and for a time (IDK if its still on the server) the CAP metagame existed(exists). I LOVE CAP, and if you has a replay, you be awesome :D

This is a short but fun little match on the OU ladder. Funny how absolutely no one realizes my Deoxys-S lead doesn't have Pressure... It's a Scarf set btw.

TheFuehrer team is a walking gimmick, including pokemons like attract aerodactyl and MixTar w/outrage. wot.
Nonetheless , there are good plays by both parts . A well played furret in OU is always welcome and, specially, the Grand Finale, made my day. Still laughing. Hope you guys enjoy it as I did.

Regards!

edit: for those who may think/post "booohooo unworthy replay full of gimmicks", "subpar, mistakes everywhere", and the like: remember than pokemon is a game, and as such, its main purpose is having fun with it!

I really love this DPPt OU replay versus prem. I believe it is a good example of just how important it is to Rapid Spin your entry hazards away. I lost a Scizor because of Stealth Rock and Spikes, yet at the same time my 1% HP Aerodactyl could stop a Gyarados sweep simply because Forretress had removed Stealth Rock, and my Porygon-Z could stop a Choice Scarf Rotom-W, which dealt 49% with Hydro Pump every time. It is no wonder that Stealth Rock was crucial to DPPt, since my Porygon-Z would have fainted to the Hydro Pumps otherwise, and my Aerodactyl would have failed to stop Gyarados. Otherwise, the replay wasn't that impressive, but it carries a message: spin away those Spikes and Stealth Rocks.

Hi, everyone, I'm new here, I've read a bunch of this forum but have always wanted to be a part of the discussion too, so yeah.
http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-Mul...ce--2011-11-05

I really enjoyed facing off against MultiHGW in an Overused Tier match recently. The noteworthy aspect is that I was using a full Underused Tier team, something that is a bit 'taboo' on Smogon and Wifi battling in general, or so I've heard. There were so many funny (like lol, that sucks) moments during this battle. Please take the time to watch.

The middle, and around turns 40-45+ is a bit haxy, stally, stat-boosty b.s., so you can skip about 4 or 5 turns ahead once I start defense boosting, lol. Unless you're patient like a bawz and want to enjoy the battle in it's entirety. It's 57 turns.

Yes, I know I should've switched at certain points, but in the heat of the moment my priorities get kind of screwed up in my head. Eh.

The ending pissed me off >:((
Goddamn you, crit-god!! I know the move as a high crit ratio but the timing is just blegh.
All's fair in love and war I guess.

Keep in mind I am relatively new to the competitive battling scene. Thanks in advance :)

http://pokemon.aesoft.org/replay-Sou...hi--2011-11-05
^hilariously close match between my Overused sun team (first time using it) and a distraught Overused/Ubers user.
