Default Smogon University PO Statistics — January 2012
Forget April--January was the cruelest month.

We had a less-than-smooth server migration, upgrade issues, lag, Android users... it was not a fun month for the Smogon PO server.

But we have stats!

Read over them, enjoy, but take some of them with a grain of salt and realize that January was one hell of a chaotic month.

This data only takes into account teams whose user has a current rating--as of 2/1--of 1337 or higher. In tiers where there were not enough players with a rating that high, I lowered the cutoff as specified.

I think you're looking at the wrong column, pharaohcalvin - Charizard is used in more or less the same number of battles in standard OU as DW OU, but the percentage is higher for DW OU because fewer battles were fought in DW OU than standard OU in general.

Makes sense. Thanks! (does feel stupid for making such a mistake....)

Edit: However, he is still get used more then other pokemon that are normally used more standard. I just can't see why he is used xD (useless there are that many fan boys using it.

Didn't expect anything to change aside from an even higher number of scizor/rotom users and a spike in deoxys-D usage. I can already smell the suspect test coming for that pokemon, and in spite of what I may have said in the past, I think he deserves some discussion at the least.

What you're saying is quite nonsense tbh. It's the percentage that matters, if one Pokemon is used in 800 of 1000 battles, that's a lot, but if it's used in 800 of 200.000 battles, it is rarely used.

Looking at the LC stats I am surprised that gligar and missy are not in the top 5! I see them on almost every team. So I look at the 1337 stats instead and find them at the top 2.

Guess this explains why I can't seem to win much. GET INTO LC PEOPLE!

to everybody who is confused as to why the uu 1337 stats look terrible: we're pretty sure that 75% of those stats come from 3 players. Don't worry, nothing has changed, sharpedo still sucks.

Then allow me to make a case for Charizard. Imagine a pokemon who was stronger than choice specs latios, had even less switch ins, and had the ability to hold a scarf without losing his massive power. Would you skip over this pokemon for Latios, had you the team to support it? That's essentially what a solar power charizard is, but with a 4x stealth rock weakness that makes him unappealing. Nobody wants to run spinners anymore.
I see, so people in DW are actually willing to put the support for it. That or are brave enough to use it without support.

Too high in usage. Both are great Pokemon to use in Ubers but shouldn't be this high x_x. Especially Giratina since it's ridiculously spikebait.

But from what it seems the top 6 seems to form a dominating team on ladder.

Scrafty needs to stay OU. It is a great Pokemon that I would hate to see mess with UU.

It really is interesting to see Ferrothorn under 20%, considering it was once upon a time the #1 mon garnering >30% usage.
