May is over (thank GOD!), and we're only one month away from a tier update!

Tiers will be updated next month. As you may or may not know, tiers are determined by a weighted average of the previous three months' stats, with a disproportionate amount of weight given to the most recent month. Consequently, trends in the first two month are an okay predictor of what will happen in the third month, but nothing is set in stone. For reference, look at the last time I made predictions like these. Only about half of them came true, and I missed quite a few (who would have expected CHARIZARD to drop to NU?).

THAT BEING SAID, if June 2012's usage stats look EXACTLY THE SAME as May's, these will be the changes to the tiers:

Just a reminder, these are only the predicted changes. TIERS ARE NOT BEING UPDATED THIS MONTH!
  • Abomasnow up to OU from BL
  • Chansey down to UU from OU
  • Porygon-Z up to UU from BL2
  • Nidoqueen down to RU from UU
  • Quagsire up to RU from NU
  • Magmortar up to RU from NU
  • Cryogonal up to RU from NU

Chansey would be insane at UU. I would not want to play in UU without one :/ BL would make the most sense to me since it really is a borderline pokemon.

Thank you for the stats, Antar.

Latios and Salamence are finally getting there. People are catching on their team doesn't have to be overloaded with powerhouses when you need just one of these Dragons (including Hydreigon/Dragonite as a possibility) to gape a whole in the opponent's team. This allows the rest of your team to execute their strategy much easier when you have Outrage/Draco Meteor denting even those who resist it.

I'm glad to see the stats this month. Thank god Virizion got a little more use; It's great and shouldn't be falling to UU.

Also if Chansey fell that would make the metagame a lot different, nothing can support and wall in UU like Chansey can.

What is the percentage for dropping down or climb ? i think that a pokemon have to be to 4.1% to remain in his tier, but Antar says that Quagsire can be RU with only 3.7%. I think that i miss something. Can someone answer me ?

Looking at the NU stats, Quagsire has really fallen from grace - now it's sitting all the way back at #27!

Sawsbuck has fallen off the face of the Earth at #39 and Charizard at #46. I guess having power and coverage really means nothing when you are that frail.

Serperior meanwhile has risen to #43. Still way off the top 20 where it should be but it's getting there.

Also it never ceases to amaze me the amount of very good Pokemon that see no use: Linoone at #52, Carracosta at #62, Shelgon and Duosion at #70 and #71 and Relicanth at #78.

the cutoff is roundabout 3.41%.

cryo is the best, and most lethally underrated spinner in RU, they say. anyway, all those three have been real pains for me at one point or another, so i can't say that i will miss them terribly. magmortar in particular is devious and a pain to play around, and quag's placement in NU was almost a disgrace.
meanwhile, emboar and braviary are soaring high and higher (although the latter is still behind swellow), and fatty musharna is on the rise as well. great to see new threats arise even after so many months.
let's see what the tier changes will bring!

I've been putting together a PU team (for Wi-Fi), and now I'm grumpy.

I mistakenly thought Camerupt was PU and went to all the trouble of breeding one. Only when I posted this did I catch my mistake. So you'd think I'd be happy that Camerupt is dropping down and will thus be usable on my PU team.

Problem is, Linoone, who my entire team is built AROUND, is slated to rise to NU.


This is why it's not a good idea to breed Wi-Fi teams for brand new tiers.

Abomasnow was given a run during this last couple of months due to ShakeItUp's dual-weather team. That and Mamoswine can hold their own and take full advantage of hail. Fact is, the rest of your team does not have to be centered around Abomasnow to the point where the team lacks a competitive edge.

Cryo is a very underrated Spinner, if he's going to be RU, the NU tier will become way more hazards full then now. I'm pretty scary about this. On another note, i'll be very happy if Magmortar goes, he's probably one of the most threating force in NU and when he comes in something die.

Weather is not the only factor to cause to rise of Abomasnow. Abomasnow is like the most underrated weather inducer... It deserves its OU usage for me. Abomasnow isn't a deadweight despite its Stealth Rock weakness. Hail is super useful for wearing down VoltTurn teams as most of them don't have Leftovers anyway. A couple of Protect users help wear down Life Orb users quickly too. I personally favor Abomasnow's SubSeed set. It's pretty awesome at draining health here and there and wearing down opponents with hail. Still, hail is not easy to use as you have limited choice of teammates so that you yourself don't get worn down by hail too quickly, and having good synergy is no easy feat. Could the rise of sandstorm and hail lead to the decline of Chansey? IDK for sure but Chansey might have difficulty fitting into those teams due to lack of Leftovers recovery.

Also lol. Scrafty and Toxicroak staying OU~ They aren't too bad I think, just that other options (eg Terrakion) are often chosen over it...

Chansey is going to be terrible for the metagame, we have all adapted to a metagame without Chansey and its going to be a pain in the ass to readjust our teams. People wont like it and my guess is that it will go BL, however the new tutor moves get released this month so it will be interesting to see how that changes things.

gotta say, Abomasnow moving up to OU would be cool. Hail's more viable then people think, specially with things like Kyurem and the possible movepool changes it might be getting
