Blastoise, Victreebel, Mr. Mime, Hitmonlee. All I ever needed to beat the Elite Four. Never really had a complete team. Would usually just run around adventuring with 2-4 of my Pokemon.

I finished a Red Nuzlocke (if you're wondering what that is, it's where you can only catch the first encounter per area, and faint = death (release or permabox)), so here's my team. They're all 55/56.

CALVIN (Surf, Ice Beam, Strength, Fissure)
My starter, nothing really special about him. But he's been there the entire adventure, and has been a huge help the whole time.

LENNIE (Hyper Beam, Blizzard, Thunderbolt, Super Fang)
My first catch. Lemme tell you, this was a strong Raticate. Beat most of Loreli and some of Gary, and is always ready to one shot somebody.

TAYLOR (Fly, Quick Attack, Substitute, Hyper Beam)
She didn't do much...I really like Fearow, but TAYLOR has always been there and saved me from Kangashkan once. She's earned her place.

LANCE (Twineedle, Hyper Beam, Swords Dance, Double Team)
Yes, I DID use him. He swept Lance in the Elite Four. All by himself, at level 55. Seriously, don't underestimate Beedrill.

JESS (Earthquake, Dig, Sand Attack, Slash)
Earthquake is his selling point, and he had nice stats to complement it. Despite having no bulk, he was helpful.

ASH (Flamethrower, Dig, Body Slam, Fire Blast)
DEFINITELY the strongest! Swept Sabrina, and yes, I had to train him to 50 as a Growlithe. But when he learned Flamethrower, it was all worth it.

I never actually owned RBY, but continually borrowed my friends. I got really attached to my first 6, and hardly ever switched them out.
Venusaur/Blastoise (mainly Venusaur)
Raticate (loaded with TMs)/Sometimes switched with whatever eeveelution I had (mainly Flareon)
Pidgeot (for Fly)
Butterfree
Beedrill (Later dumped for Clefable - METRONOME!!)
Pikachu/Raichu (always called Sparky - 3 electric attacks and quick attack)

I was 5/6, don't laugh!

I definitely haven't retired from RBY, I still play it all the time, but my main in-game and Stadium team from back in the day (that I still have on my Blue cart because I've kept my Blue save file since then) is

Charizard
- Flamethrower
- Slash
- Earthquake
- Reflect

Jolteon
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Pin Missile
- Double Team

Gyarados
- Surf
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Hyper Beam

Exeggutor
- Sleep Powder
- Mega Drain
- Leech Seed
- Psychic

Golem
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Body Slam
- Explosion

Dodrio
- Drill Peck
- Fly
- Body Slam
- Toxic

Not too bad, considering I was 12 when I put it together; it definitely got the job done. I clearly had no idea what to do with Dodrio, and in Stadium I don't think he ever even made it onto the roster of 3 in each match, but I just liked it so much.

-Blizzard
-Thunderbolt
-Fire Blast
-Fissure

This guy is my all time favorite. As soon as I realized he could learn a move from almost every type, I was sold. He was my first to lvl 100, and using him I completely swept the elite four and Gary.

-Surf
-Hyper Beam
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt

Uhh, he's a flying chinese dragon? Yes please. Plus surfing was important so I could use the infinite Item glitch.

-Fly
-Flamethrower
-Fire Blast
-Hyper Beam

I think I GameShark'd Fly, or maybe traded to Yellow, then traded back. Either way, he was my starter and my second favorite.

-Hyper Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Dragon Rage
-Cut

Again, dragons. Thunderbolt and Hyperbeam were some of my favorite moves, so I taught them to as many of my Pokemon as possible.

-Psychic
-Tri-Attack
-Recover
-Swift

I used my Alakazam over Mewtwo because I thought Mewtwo was lame. Just cause he was some genetic experiment doesn't mean he's any better than my Zammy!

-Rock Throw
-Dig
-Earthquake
-Strength

Look at him! He's just soo cute!

Yeah, I really only ever attacked. In fact, that's all I do now, cause I'm brand-spankin' new to the competitive scene. Hoping to learn the ropes though.

Gengar
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Mega Drain
- Explosion

No Hypnosis here because I use it on Exeggutor, and I never was a fan of double sleep. Gengar has Psychic for enemy Gengar. This absorbs sleep and is then used for taking Explosion. Boom!

Tauros
- Body Slam
- Hyper Beam
- Earthquake
- Blizzard

Snorlax
- Body Slam
- Hyper Beam
- Selfdestruct
- Surf

This was more helpful on my team than Tauros. Boom!

Exeggutor
- Sleep Powder
- Psychic
- Mega Drain
- Explosion

Boom!

Cloyster
- Clamp
- Blizzard
- Hyper Beam
- Explosion

Boom!

Starmie
- Recover
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- ??? (I think it was Surf, but Psychic looks pretty good, and maybe it was Thunder Wave)

Some of the time, I would use Golem over Starmie (or possibly Cloyster) with Explosion (Boom!), Earthquake, Rock Slide, ??? (probably Body Slam).
