After much procrastination and with still more work to do, I present to you the 3rd Gen Teams archive thread!

In this thread, users can nominate teams they believe deserved to be listed here. We're looking for high quality teams (from any tier, including 200) that have received high praise in RMTs and those that have shown significant successes in tournament or *relevant* ladders. Please make note of that in your nomination(s). If you wish to nominate a team that isn't linked as an RMT thread, please post the team with a detailed description of the team synergy and strategy.

This seems to be an excellent idea - the issue is that many of the tip-top best old gen teams have not been formatted into RMTs. To make this idea work, either the creators of the teams, or willing volunteers, would have to create RMTs. The way that 4th and 5th gen team archives work is that the best teams are selected from the RMT forums and showcased there.

There is rarely a top-notch past gen RMT posted nowadays, and most teams in the archive would have to be written up into RMTs if the idea was to have an RMT archive. What would work better is if the team archive is comprised solely of importables with a brief two-sentence explanation about the playstyle of the team, as opposed to full all-out RMTs unless they were posted in the form of RMTs prior to their addition to the archives.

another question is would you include teams like golden girls and MIKE JONES that some would consider "outdated?" basically is this going to be for posterity or just to have a compendium of good, competitive teams? also when it comes to a team like superman that has been around forever and revamped a few times, would you use the original one with screechgon and max speed toxic skarm that had all the success years ago, or would you use the updated one that is more suited to the current meta? i suppose you could do both...

I've seen some teams that go through their whole team building process, showing changes all the way up to its most recent version, so as far as Superman goes, MAYBE something like that could happen? Otherwise, I'm hinting at a good list of teams that have shown success in the recent meta. If there are some older teams that still do relatively well, then I think those would be cool as well.

most 06/07 teams aren't really outdated at all. only a few sets from back then really are (screechgon, taunt ddtar). there are even some 04/05 teams that are still worth using, like the old zapdos/skarm/bliss/dol/clops/cune team.

i have a lot of nb teams saved that i'd be willing to post.

I think for Gen 1 and even Gen 2 you'd struggle to have a substantial team archive that didn't mostly consist of permuation after permuation of the same damn team - unless you posted non-competitive teams solely for posterity's sake. You could certainly have both competitive teams and "historic" teams posted in this archive, mind you, as long as the ineffective teams are clear about their datedness (perhaps even in the title) and are explained from a historical context. I personally think it'd be pretty cool to have slices of history in addition to effective archetypal teams of the current metagames.

Umby, I love this idea, and was actually thinking about it while I was clearing this forum out. I left a lot of RMTs in RoA, if you're willing to look through them all. I mosty tried to keep ones that were either very solid, or offered really great rates. That said, some of them probably don't fit either of those categories (I went through 2400 threads, it's hard to be 100% precise). Also, there's a chance I accidentally moved something really good out of here by mistake, in which case, it would be lost in the mess that is HT. Unfortunately, I'm unable to bring anything in HT back out, so you'd need a SMod+ to do that.

Anyway, I definitely dig this idea and would love to see it come to fruition ^.^

I really dig your Rhydon / Marowak BP team, gene! That team looks very fun :d Reminded me of the Rhydon-phase we had in ADV where everyone was spamming SubSD or CB Rhydon.

that team is a lot of fun to play, but rhydon/marowak are both really really high risk, high reward mons. i think i only used it in 1 or 2 tournament battles.

the RBY team dbolt, pirotechnix, and i used in spl season 2. It only lost once or twice between the three of us throughout the whole season, including the loss to the chaser in the finals meaning its record was like 20-1:

Triangles Join Date: Dec 2011 Posts: 296	This seems to be an excellent idea - the issue is that many of the tip-top best old gen teams have not been formatted into RMTs. To make this idea work, either the creators of the teams, or willing volunteers, would have to create RMTs. The way that 4th and 5th gen team archives work is that the best teams are selected from the RMT forums and showcased there. There is rarely a top-notch past gen RMT posted nowadays, and most teams in the archive would have to be written up into RMTs if the idea was to have an RMT archive. What would work better is if the team archive is comprised solely of importables with a brief two-sentence explanation about the playstyle of the team, as opposed to full all-out RMTs unless they were posted in the form of RMTs prior to their addition to the archives. __________________ all triangular entities are liars

Otherwise, I'm hinting at a good list of teams that have shown success in the recent meta. If there are some older teams that still do relatively well, then I think those would be cool as well. __________________

Jorgen Join Date: Jun 2010 Posts: 712	I think for Gen 1 and even Gen 2 you'd struggle to have a substantial team archive that didn't mostly consist of permuation after permuation of the same damn team - unless you posted non-competitive teams solely for posterity's sake. You could certainly have both competitive teams and "historic" teams posted in this archive, mind you, as long as the ineffective teams are clear about their datedness (perhaps even in the title) and are explained from a historical context. I personally think it'd be pretty cool to have slices of history in addition to effective archetypal teams of the current metagames.

I left a lot of RMTs in RoA, if you're willing to look through them all. I mosty tried to keep ones that were either very solid, or offered really great rates. That said, some of them probably don't fit either of those categories (I went through 2400 threads, it's hard to be 100% precise). Also, there's a chance I accidentally moved something really good out of here by mistake, in which case, it would be lost in the mess that is HT. Unfortunately, I'm unable to bring anything in HT back out, so you'd need a SMod+ to do that. Anyway, I definitely dig this idea and would love to see it come to fruition ^.^ __________________ ^.^

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 240 Atk / 16 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Focus Punch - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide - Substitute sub tyranitar has always been the scariest version to deal with for stall teams. once you get that sub up on a blissey, something's gonna get hit really hard. sometimes i switch out hp bug for hp grass like that time i played goof in botw. RIP goof Flygon (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 SAtk Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Fire Blast - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide flygon is amazing because he hits everything for at least decent damage and can actually switch in a bunch of things. i prefer leftovers to choice band because it's better late game, and because you can heal up quite a bit on good switches. Swampert (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Torrent EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 4 Spd / 116 SAtk Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Rest - Sleep Talk swampert is the bulky water of choice to complement flygon's typing. i really don't think you need surf, and i would much rather have the full heal of rest to the slow regeneration of protect + leftovers. Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 16 Spd / 192 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Rest - Sleep Talk - Spikes - Whirlwind i used to use toxic here, but i decided that sleep phazing is really strong. i guess this isn't technically a tss team anymore, but it certainly plays like one. i also used to use jolly nature to outrun magneton and get another layer of spikes in. i think jolly is still a decent option if you know how to pressure people with 2 layers of spikes. Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 236 HP / 44 Spd / 228 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Grass] - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt the closest thing resembling a special wall on this team. this team as a whole relies on playing off resistances. some special sweepers (like gengar and starmie) actually give this team some trouble, so you'd have to avoid bringing zapdos in on an ice attack. instead switch swampert or tyranitar into it and then bring zapdos in on the next attack. you can also use zapdos to waste pp from stuff like swampert, non-cm celebi, blissey, and fire blasts intended for skarmory. one of my oldest favorite teams from mid 06 Gengar (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 172 HP / 200 Spd / 136 SAtk Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Giga Drain - Hypnosis - Ice Punch - Thunderbolt i like having a fast pokemon like gengar or aerodactyl to clean stuff up late game. having one around and unstatused puts a lot of pressure on your opponent. Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 28 Spd / 228 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Grass] - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt i have this zapdos set on almost all of my teams for the same reason as mentioned above. Salamence (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Fire Blast - Hidden Power [Flying] - Rock Slide counters heracross and celebi, and hits everything really hard. it can stay relatively healthy with wish support from blissey. Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Keen Eye EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 12 Spd / 198 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Rest - Sleep Talk - Spikes - Whirlwind i used jolly here originally to outrun magneton and get a second layer of spikes in. same as in the above team, i decided that being able to sleep talk whirlwind is too good to pass up. Blissey (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 56 HP / 252 Def / 200 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Protect - Seismic Toss - Wish because this is a fairly slow-paced team, i felt like i needed to have a solid special wall. the wish support is absolutely core here, you need it to keep salamence alive and healthy enough to keep switching into shit like celebi psychics. i originally had counter/wish/protect/seismic toss back when i made this team, but the gimmick of wish+counter wore out after a few months. ice beam is there to hit zapdos and gengar reasonably hard. Swampert (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Torrent EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 8 Spd / 120 SAtk Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Rest - Sleep Talk i originally used hydro pump and protect, but being vulnerable to status sucked too much so i switched to sleep talk. this team has one main weakness: tyranitar. back when i made it, 99% of tars were either dd taunt, cb, or boah. this set handles all of the above fairly well, but shit like hp grass/rock slide/fire blast/pursuit would suck to deal with. you'd have to probably give up something to damage tar to the point where other attacks + spikes would prevent it from coming back in safely. you might even have to take a shitty hypnosis gamble. for both of the above 2 teams, it's worth noting that i have 4 pokemon immune to ground. spikes is really strong and rapid spinners in this gen kind of suck ass most of the time. rhydon/marowak setup team Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 176 Spd / 80 SAtk Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Agility - Baton Pass - Hidden Power [Grass] - Thunderbolt probably the only team i like where i don't have a calm zapdos. passes +2 speed to rhydon and marowak for sweeping. Rhydon (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Lightning Rod EVs: 212 HP / 56 Atk / 240 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Substitute - Swords Dance rhydon sweeps really hard, it's only problems are its shitty typing and low speed. i have nearly max speed just so i can outrun 350s after an agility. if you prefer, you can shoot for a lower speed (like 300 or 330). it's also worth noting that zapdos and rhydon cover each other's weaknesses pretty well (except for ice). Celebi @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Baton Pass - Calm Mind - Psychic - Recover i have cm here to pass to zapdos and gengar. i don't think you need to pass swords dances (it would be really unlikely to get a swords dance off, pass to zapdos, get an agility off, pass to rhydon/marowak). Gengar (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 172 HP / 200 Spd / 136 SAtk Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Giga Drain - Hypnosis - Ice Punch - Thunderbolt sometimes, you won't be able to sweep despite getting an agility + swords dance off, and gengar makes great use of this because he cleans up weakened pokemon pretty hard. Marowak (M) @ Thick Club Trait: Rock Head EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Double-Edge - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Swords Dance marowak is mostly here as a backup sweeper. almost no teams can handle both rhydon and marowak. you just need to find a way to get them in safely. Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 124 HP / 68 Atk / 136 Def / 4 Spd / 176 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Curse - Rest - Shadow Ball i don't think skarmory is much of an issue here, seeing as how it's probably going to get plowed by rhydon/marowak early on. in case setting up rhydon/marowak doesn't work, curselax can serve as a crutch. i prefer shadow ball because gengar can be a massive dick to this team. newer team i made during spl 1 Metagross @ Choice Band Trait: Clear Body EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Explosion - Meteor Mash - Rock Slide metagross leads are dangerous and force a lot of other common leads like tyranitar, aerodactyl, and zapdos to switch. you don't really need that much speed, i'm using enough to outrun the standard milotic. meta also prevents shit like curselax from ever setting up. Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 28 Spd / 228 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Grass] - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt standard for all my teams, provides amazing defensive utility. Suicune @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Ice Beam - Rest - Surf already had two rock resists, so i feel like i can use suicune's sweeping potential over swampert in this slot. roar is an option, but ice beam is probably better because this team isn't that confident against salamence. Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Keen Eye EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 16 Spd / 156 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Rest - Sleep Talk - Spikes - Whirlwind this team works very well with spikes. i needed another normal resist because metagross without wish support is pretty shaky. i think that forretress is generally a piece of shit, but it could actually work on this team because it's 3/6 weak to spikes. Regice @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 32 Spd / 76 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt because of my lack of a very fast (>100 base speed) sweeper and no sandstream, i felt that i needed to have a more solid special wall to have something to properly deal with gengar and starmie. Flygon (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Fire Blast - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide helps cover shit like ddtar and is a huge threat with spikes down. this team is more susceptible to spikes than my usual ones, the goal here is to get spikes down and attempt to set up with suicune. this team also doesn't do very well against most well-built stall unless you blow up on their water or skarmory early on before it gets spikes down or something. old standard stall team. i didn't make this one. Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 30 Spd / 228 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Grass] - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Keen Eye EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Drill Peck - Rest - Roar - Spikes Suicune @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 240 HP / 212 Def / 56 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Ice Beam - Rest - Surf Blissey (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 Def / 4 Spd / 216 SAtk / 38 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Aromatherapy - Ice Beam - Seismic Toss - Softboiled Dusclops (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 32 Atk / 128 Def / 96 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Rest - Shadow Ball - Sleep Talk - Will-O-Wisp Claydol @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 236 HP / 96 Atk / 82 Def / 96 SAtk Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Psychic - Rapid Spin 200 team Heracross (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Guts EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Brick Break - Focus Punch - Hidden Power [Rock] - Megahorn heracross lead ruins most things in this gen. Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Intimidate EVs: 148 HP / 252 Atk / 108 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Flying] - Protect protect was added in to fuck with slaking. gyarados is mostly here to sweep late game and to counter heracross. the lack of zapdos makes gyarados actually good for once. Metagross @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 140 HP / 124 Atk / 104 Spd / 140 SAtk Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Electric] - Meteor Mash - Toxic hp electric was there to fuck with waters and skarmory at the same time. toxic absolutely shits on popular stuff like milotic. Milotic (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Hypnosis - Ice Beam - Recover - Surf milotic is the most common water in 200, need this to deal with metagross/salamence. Regice @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 204 HP / 148 Def / 20 Spd / 136 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Rest - Thunderbolt - Toxic standard special wall, helps deal with salamence. this is also my best line of defense against alakazam. Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Keen Eye EVs: 252 HP / 80 Atk / 176 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Drill Peck - Rest - Roar - Spikes this was from back when i used to use jolly skarmory all the time. jolly is good to outrun magneton and get a second layer of spikes in before dying. overall, this team is slightly weak against skarmory (a lot of people avoided using it for a while because of magneton) and has some trouble with alakazam. you need to play this team very aggressively with heracross or you risk getting stalled out. my favorite gsc team, hardcore stall/pp grind Zapdos @ Leftovers - Hidden Power [Ice] - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt the second-best pokemon in gsc behind snorlax, no reason not to use it. shit like snorlax gets forced to rest eventually, which gives you the upper hand with your own snorlax. zapdos is a good switch for 3/4 of nidoking's attacks and 3/4 of machamp's attacks as well. thunder is both an excellent and shitty alternative to thunderbolt. Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers - Belly Drum - Body Slam - Earthquake - Rest while curselax is easily stalled, drumlax is a man. i use body slam because you will need to attack a few times before attempting to set up. people will often bring in stuff like exeggutor to sleep you or skarmory to whirlwind you away. a par on either of those will fuck them over hard. i used to use double-edge to 2hko skarm, but the recoil was too much to deal with. also keep in mind that using drum when you are below 50% health will cause it to "fail" and give you +2 attack instead of +6. Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers - Curse - Drill Peck - Rest - Whirlwind curse is here almost entirely to ward off drumlax and marowak. thief sets are really gimmicky. Starmie @ Leftovers - Psychic - Rapid Spin - Recover - Surf starmie is my main machamp counter and is 100% needed to get rid of spikes. Miltank (F) @ Leftovers - Body Slam - Growl - Heal Bell - Milk Drink my counter to curse anything. spam growl to waste pp and body slam when you think they're going to try to switch in something like zapdos. getting the occasional paralysis on something without rest (like the typical steelix or cloyster) will fuck up its ability to deter drumlax from sweeping. Nidoking (M) @ Leftovers - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Lovely Kiss - Thunder spreads status and is a pretty strong mid-late game threat. this team requires patient play, you're often going to have to count pp. i don't think spikes is particularly good in gsc, but i don't like dealing with it when i mostly rely on switching around a lot and playing very safe. 90% of the offense on this team is snorlax, so the goal here is to paralyze as much of the opponent's team as possible and only then use belly drum. celia's really ridiculous stall team, not sure if i got all the sets 100% Forretress (M) @ Leftovers - Curse - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rest - Spikes Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers - Flamethrower - Growl - Rest - Toxic Raikou @ Leftovers - Crunch - Reflect - Rest - Thunderbolt Suicune @ Leftovers - Rest - Roar - Surf - Toxic Blissey (F) @ Leftovers - Growl - Heal Bell - Softboiled - Toxic Donphan (M) @ Leftovers - Earthquake - Rapid Spin - Rest - Roar __________________ death to evan Last edited by gene; Jul 14th, 2012 at 12:36:53 AM.

It kills ghosts with Crunch + Pursuit, making Forretress job easier. This monster is also good luring and killing Aerodactyl counters like Claydol (Crunch + Pursuit) and Swampert (HP Grass). Dugtrio (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Arena Trap EVs: 220 Atk / 36 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Aerial Ace - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide A key pokemon of the team. It traps a lot of stuff, especially Raikou, Jirachi, Heracross and T-tar, which can be dangerous for the team. Dugtrio is also good revenge killing stuff that is weak, like ~45% offensive Suicune, or ~65% Starmie. Milotic (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Recover - Surf - Toxic Milotic does't have a rock resistance like Swampert, but it has Recover, and it doesn’t have that x4 grass weakness, so its not afraid of random HP grasses like Swampert. It also has toxic support, which adds to Sandstorm damage, adding more damage, and it also let Milotic beat things like offensive Suicune. It's also one of the best answers to things like Salamence and Metagross, 2 huge threats. Celebi @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 60 SAtk / 16 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Grass] - Leech Seed - Psychic - Recover Celebi never dies. At first I had the CM + leech seed version, which is awesome, but Dugtrio was too common, and Celebi was key in my team, because it beats Curselax and CMcune, 2 dangerous mons for any balanced team. Forretress (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 56 Def / 196 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Explosion - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rapid Spin - Spikes The Spiker. It might be a worse Spiker than Skarm, and a worse Spinner than Starmie, but it can do those things at the same time, and it has the Pursuit T-tar support, so ghosts wont be a problem while spinning. Hidden Power Bug scares Starmie and Claydol. Earthquake is an alternative too, because it beats Magneton. After it has done its job, it explodes. Explosion is also an emergency answer vs some sweeper that might threaten my team, especially with Dugtrio revenge killing in case it survives. Aerodactyl (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Rock Head EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Double-Edge - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Flying] - Rock Slide The monster. With Spikes and Sand support, and with T-tar luring the most common bulky grounds (claydol and Swampert), Aero can be a true nightmare late game, especially with rock slide and its 30% flinch chance. It also covers DDgyara, which can beat the other 5 mons of the team. An old balanced team I had Salamence (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Fire Blast - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Flying] - Rock Slide CBmence is one of the best starters in ADV. It can take physical hits quite well thanks to Intimidate, it's fast, and it hits quite hard. Fire Blast because Skarm, but Brick Break (helps vs Curselax and vs T-Tar) and Double-Edge (2HKOs Milotic and 3HKOs Suicune) are also good options. Milotic (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Toxic - Surf - Ice Beam - Recover One of the best bulky waters, that acts like a great mixed wall beating stuff like Metagross and Salamence. Celebi @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Leech Seed - Psychic - Recover The monster. It never dies, and it can easily sweep teams, especially with Dug support: it trans and kills it's main counters, like Metagross, T-Tar, Houndoom… With Leech Seed, this monster is even harder to kill, and it helps it beating bulky things like Bliss, Lax, Regice, or other Cmers like Jirachi or Suicune. Starmie @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 156 HP / 136 SAtk / 216 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Surf - Psychic - Recover - Rapid Spin The best spinner in the game. It beats Gengar with Psychic, and Dugtrio helps it beating Dusclops. Starmie also outspeeds most DDtars after 1 DD. It's also useful vs sleepers like Gengar (double natural cure with Celebi) Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Immunity EVs: 124 HP / 68 Atk / 124 Def / 36 SAtk / 156 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Body Slam - Shadow Ball - Fire Blast - Selfdestruct Mixed Snorlax. It's main objective is luring and weakening Skarm (which can easily phaze CMbi). Selfdestruct is also good for luring things like Celebi, Suicune and other bulky things. Frustration is it's main attack, but Double-Edge is also an alternative for more power. Swampert (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Torrent EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SAtk Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Roar - Surf Swampert supports the team, it roars set uppers, and it beats some dangerous mons like DDtar. Metagross @ Choice Band Trait: Clear Body EVs: 176 HP / 164 Atk / 72 Def / 96 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Meteor Mash - Explosion Standard CBgross, a monster that can take hits very well, and hits really hard with MM. It can also explode vs Bulky Waters, helping the rest of the team. Magneton @ Leftovers Trait: Magnet Pull EVs: 228 HP / 108 SAtk / 12 SDef / 160 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Grass] - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt Traps Skarm, hits Swampert hard, and helps vs hypnosis users with Sleep Talk. Salamence (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Intimidate EVs: 24 HP / 232 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Brick Break - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Flying] - Rock Slide Bulky, fast, and hits hard, a standard in choice teams. Heracross (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Guts EVs: 60 HP / 196 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Brick Break - Focus Punch - Megahorn - Rock Slide One of the most underrated mons. Heracross hits really hard with Megahorn, and it takes special hits very well, so it can come into bulky waters and bulky grounds, and starts it's reign of terror. Magneton and CBers. I use sometimes CBlax > Cb tauros, because CMkou is annoying sometimes. Trap team by Make Salamence (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Brick Break - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Flying] - Rock Slide Cbmence lead again. Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 128 HP / 68 Atk / 120 Def / 192 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Curse - Return - Shadow Ball - Rest This team is based around Curselax: basically, Magneton and Dugtrio trap its main counters, like Skarm, Celebi, metagross, Jirachi, Tyhranitar… With a couple of curses, this monster is really hard to stop. It's also useful vs bulky sweepers with Leech Seed. It beats Skarm. Trap team used by Bluewind in finals of Smogon Tour vs KG. The idea of the team is trapping curselax counters, so it can sweep late game. This is Make team. Classic TSS CBtar hitting hard, skarm + claydol resisting every physical attack, setting up spikes (skarm) and spinning (claydol), blissey walling special attacks, zapdos beating things like cune, bpbi, or some mixed sweepers (like boah) and absorbing sleep, and gengar blocking spin. Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 76 HP / 216 Atk / 36 Def / 180 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Focus Punch - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide The monster of the team, and a very underrated t-tar moveset right now. It starts the sandstorm, and it can destroy any team: it doesn't have any safe switching but maybe Suicune or Skarm, which cannot take too many rock slides. Swampert isn’t a safe switching because it takes a lot from CB Focus Punch (~65%), and HP bug destroys Celebi and Claydol. Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 204 SDef / 28 Spd Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Roar - Rest - Sleep Talk - Thunderbolt This is a great PP stall machine, phazing CMers and most BPers, absorbing sleep, and walling and pp stalling with pressure things like Blissey. A key member of the team. Gengar (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 16 SAtk / 24 SDef / 72 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Taunt - Will-O-Wisp - Ice Punch - Thunderbolt The spin blocker of the team. Standard bulky gar, with Taunt helping vs things like Bliss or Curselax. Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Keen Eye EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 116 SDef / 4 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Toxic - Rest - Spikes - Whirlwind Toxic Skarm because this team has some DDtar problems, so toxicing it is a nice idea (DD taunt version is hard walled by Claydol. Claydol @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 144 Def / 56 SDef Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Psychic - Rapid Spin Claydol + Skarm resist every physical attack, and it's also the spinner of the team. Claydol is also immune to TSS and Spikes, so it's a great option for any TSS team. Psychic 2HKOs Gengar, the most common spin blocker. Blissey (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 6 HP / 252 Def / 252 Sp Atk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Seismic Toss - Softboiled - Toxic The best special wall of the game. With Toxic it can easily beat most CMers, and IB let it hit Gengar. The 252 sp atk evs bliss can 3hko zapdos with IB in the sand. SubDos lead Zapdos @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 124 HP / 236 SAtk / 148 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Baton Pass - Hidden Power [Ice] - Substitute - Thunderbolt This zapdos is faster than the standard lead Cmence, and it can OHKO it with HP Ice. It's main objective is BP Subs to DDtar. Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 156 HP / 52 Atk / 124 Def / 176 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Curse - Body Slam - Earthquake - Rest Standard curselax with EQ, because this team had some problems with Jirachi. Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 56 HP / 228 Atk / 48 Def / 176 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Hidden Power [Bug] The best late game sweeper of the game, especially with a Sub support from Zapdos. HP Bug helps vs Celebi and Claydol, 2 mons that are very common right now. Starmie @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 156 HP / 136 SAtk / 216 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Surf - Psychic - Recover - Rapid Spin Starmie again, the spinner of the team. SubCmCune is a monster that can easily sweep so many teams: with Sub it blocks status and Leech Seed, beating things like Celebi or Zapdos, 2 of the most common defensive Suicune counters. Regice @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 248 HP / 60 Atk / 84 Def / 116 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Ice Beam - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Fire] - Explosion This regice is a big surprise for many teams: HP fire is mainly because Metagross, and it also destroys Forretress. It hits very hard, it takes hits very well, and it can also explode on Bliss/Lax/Regice, helping the CMers a lot. Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 240 HP / 220 Def / 40 SAtk / 8 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Psychic - Fire Punch - Wish Standard CMWish Jirachi, a key member of the team, healing the rest of the team with Wish. It's also a dangerous bulky sweeper with CM. Fire Punch helps vs Celebi, and the occasional burn is quite useful, especially vs things like T-tar. Celebi @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Psychic - Hidden Power [Fire] - Giga Drain Offensive Celebi is quite useful, because it beats some of the most used counters of the bulky version, like Skarm/Forry that try some free Spikes. Giga Drain gives it STAB, let it hit T-tar hard, and recovers back some HP. CM Blissey + CM Celebi basically wall every special threat in the game, while Celebi + Forre + Milotic almost wall every physical threat. Tyranitar is there to wreck havoc and remove Ghost so Forretress has a easy job. Celebi / Milotic don't rely on Rest so you are not too much under pressure. Dugtrio is there to remove annoying threat to the team, like weakened Snorlax and DDTyranitar (also help CM Blissey a lot in the process). Lack of Phazers make it weak to Sub/BP team based, and lack of Rock Resist make Aerodactyl dangerous if he gets too much flinch (Milo/Cele/Forre work around it pretty well tho). The team is based around dual-DDer, counter are removed by Magneton (Skarmory)/Suicune (wrecks havoc vs every physical wall). Suicune attracts all the special wall who are setup bait for Snorlax who brings Steel to get trapped (Snorlax is the backbone of the team vs Special sweeper). Swampert is the wild card vs whatever you wanna get rid of (mostly Suicune/Milotic). Swampert/Suicune, despite being not bulky can let you not being swept by Physical threat early game. Sandstorm is crucial to not let some wall get leftovers recovery (mostly Suicune/Milotic).
