Welcome to the RU Forum Ladder! Here you will be able to test how you match up against the best RU players. The way this works is that each player will be put into a rank, Rank 1 being the lowest, Rank 5 being the highest; if you did not participate in the initial mini-tournament, you will start in Rank 1. Players can test and find out their skill by beating the other players in their same rank in battles. By doing so, the players are able to move up ranks until they reach the highest rank with the most skilled RU players. However, if you lose often within your current rank, you will be demoted to the rank below. Furthermore, if you do not play any of the other players in your rank in 7 days, you will also be demoted. Here are the rules explained in more depth:
Rules:
- Post "in" to join. If you are not already ranked, you will start at Rank 1.
- You must play at least 1 battle every 7 days. If you do not, you will be demoted to the rank below. Rank 1 users users are not required to play games every week, but it is encouraged to accept challenges.
- You can challenge anyone in your rank at any time. However, any johning will be monitored closely, and if you do not play any battles within a week or if you are constantly denying challenges from one person, you will be demoted.
- If two players already faced each other in the same rank, they are not forced to play each other again unless their rank shifts. However, you can play the same person 4 times in a row, if they agree. For example, if ShakeItUp plays DittoCrow 4 times in Rank 3, and wins all 4 battles, he is eligible to move to Rank 4.
- If you play someone in a higher rank and win, it is worth 2 wins. If you play someone in a higher rank and lose, it is worth 1 loss. If you are in a higher rank and win vs a player in a it only counts as 1 win, and if you lose, 1 loss.
- Please use IRC (#rarelyused) to find battles and challenge other people easily. It's much more efficient than trying to set up a time via VMs.
- Both players must confirm the result of their battles below.
- The number of battles you must win/lose to move up/down a rank will be detailed under each rank. These are subject to change.
- All battles will be in the Standard RU format, best of one.
*Right now, there are not many people in each rank. People's current ranks were determined by their performance in the Standard Mini-Tournament.

- Any player with 3+ wins in a week who won more battles than they lost is promoted to Rank 2.
