Between the stubby shield-arms and flatness I couldn't figure out how to make them 'hug', so here they are crying about their lack of being able to hug instead.

Oh wow seeing that piece progress has been great and the colors are absolutely beautiful. The only thing I would mention (being incredibly nitpicky about this) is wih the orb on its head, as going by the view we have of its ears, you should be able to see where it meets the head on the side closest to you, instead of being totally blocked off by the head by being on the other side of its face (did that even make any sense ;-;). But that doesn't detract in any way from the overall piece, it's just minor

Was kinda using official art as reference for that bit during the sketching phase, since I wasn't sure how to draw it and get the point across. Tried having it meet the face like you've described, but it... didn't look right. Unsure if it was the angle of the head doing it or I just fail.

I, for one, liked this version better. The rough outlines work well with the grass around it, and the size of its eyes feels more appropriate (ie cuter).

Really like the contents of this thread overall, even your sketches make for a treat.
