Default Moves that would've been awesome in past Gens.

I know what we're all thinking of here: what moves would've REALLY had an impact if they were in previous generations? For example, what if Draco Meteor was in ADV? Or what if Psystrike was in DPPt? I think that's a bit of an interesting thing to talk about. So many things in the metagame would be different because the Pokemon would play differently. Everything would become moot when we got to BW, but still.

And yes, this is inspired by Theorymon/Why Game Freak? Why?!

That's the first thing I thought of honestly. Psystrike would've broken so many things so many generations ago. Hell, even Wonder Room would've had competitive merit if it was introduced a few generations ago.

Trick room in gen 1. Just imagine it, Snorlax, Blissey. They'd be ubers immediately.

Nope, far better: Magnet rise in gen 1! Lt. Surge would laugh at Diglett's cave! He'd go in there and KO diglett after dugtrio!

Since Hyper Beam is actually usable in Generation I, is it fair to say that all of the Hyper Beam variations, (Rock Wrecker, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, Roar of Time, etc) would be good in Gen I?

Aside from that, any Dragon Move woulda been great, since the only Dragon move did set damage...although the only dragon was the Dragonite family,and Ice did more damage anyway.

Quiver dance in gen 1. Since sp def didnt exist back then. It would just raise special and speed and would get crits like crazy.

Crits were based on BASE speed, so the crit ratio wouldn't actually rise.

Would entry hazards have made a difference in Gen I? I've never played competitively, so I don't know if they'd have any real benefits or not.

Magma Storm gen 1 (Fire Blast + Fire Spin anyone?)

Too bad Fire coverage sucks in gen 1.


Shadow Claw would have been way cool too-- 140 (always crits) base power attack that hits Alakazam/Starmie/etc. for super effective? (assuming the attack didn't get the lick treatment) yes please~!

And that would accomplish? Every Psychic type in Gen 1 that can learn Focus Blast now has awful Atk.

Brave Bird. Sure, recoil makes the glassy Fearow even more glassy, but it's also hitting harder. Dodrio would appreciate it, too.

Without Flying Gems?

Psyshock in any gen before 5 would make Chansey/Blissey be a hard counter to much less, and make a bunch of psychic types more viable in OU.

Brave Bird/Earthquake/Sacred Fire/Recover HoOh in Gen 3...with no Stealth Rock, this will be one hell of an Uber to fight. SR is Special in Gen 3 but it is still gonna hurt Metagross/Skarmory anyway.
