i don't think jimera ever mentioned using a lv50 snorlax to steamroll erika? he just used a hyper beam snorlax, which is extremely possible when you catch him immediately. all he did was to point out that you don't need to fight erika until a lot later, because of strength's apparent plot unimportance.

edit: seems like giovanni wont return to viridian gym until you have 7 gym badges. no last gym erika...
