This list isn't that surprising, but there are a few more people I'd like to see with more usage:
| 38 | Natu | 4.70063% | 1021 | 4.131% | 861 | 4.204% | | 56 | Darumaka | 2.62606% | 748 | 3.027% | 583 | 2.847% | | 60 | Shroomish | 2.39689% | 652 | 2.638% | 543 | 2.651% | These are so good if used correctly in a team and I'd like to see all of them (Especially Shroomish) get some more usage, I know for sure I'll be using them...

These stats are looking a lot more like they should now unlike a few months ago when murkrow was around 9 and things like snover were around 20.
Mienfoo, Missy, Murkrow top 3 shows a bit of a rock, paper, bazooka kind of feel to the metagame. Rather surprised at abra being at number 4 seeing as it isn't hard to stop in comparison with things like murkrow or snover and offers literally no defensive presence. I think it would be fitting to put it somewhere in the teens in terms of what it deserves. Magnemite is also a little bit of a surprise at number 8. I suppose it's probably mostly complimenting the high drilbur usage. What is surprising is Croagunk all the way at #22 after it was easily in the top 10 not too long ago. Foongus is also quite low, I think it has a lot of potential as a solid pivot in a balanced metagame. Something else I think deserves more usage is Ponyta which also can serve as a great pivot and counter to bulkyfoo and the ever dangerous snover. On the topic of snover, it is interesting to see it and hippopotas on pretty much the same usage, good to see that the sand craze has been dampened by people realising how awesome snover is.

I'm actually glad to see Magnemite finally getting the usage it deserves. Even outside of sand, a scarf Magnemite can revenge Murkrow easily and if the opponent doesn't have a ground type or Chinchou volt switch is going to seriously wear the opponent down with that incredible 20 SpAtk. I also love the bulky set - using Magnet Rise on an expected Drilbur switch in and then taking it out with Flash Cannon is hilarious.
Snover being above Hippopotas is something I find quite amusing, but also kind of deserved in my opinion. Even against non-sand teams it is probably the MVP on my most recent team. A 100% accurate 180 power move does serious damage to anything that doesn't resist, and lots of those resists (water types) are hit for massive damage from Giga Drain. Also, why is Tirtouga so low? A great Shell Smasher and can serve as a very good Murkrow check if it is without HP Grass.

Magnemite's STABs can rape teams without poryon and chinchou. IMO the #8 spot is right around where it should be.
why does nobody use tirtouga?? o i didn't see corkscrew's post.. lol.

I agree that Shroomish really does deserve more usage, but it is crushed by the top 3 so I understand. Tirt also needs to be used more. People that have troubles handling Sand / Krow have the perfect SSmasher right in front of them. They just need to use it, lol.
Again, I'm sure we can all tell how much Foo, Krow, and Missy dominate the tier. I'm surprised Abra is up there with Foo and Krow, since I don't see it very much. Krow being the least used of the top 3 surprises me too. I honestly think that Krow is the best of the three; it definitely beats most Missy's 1v1, and only ScarFoo can beat it. I've been using a parafusion Krow in my team, and am at my peak. There really isn't anything that can handle Krow reliably without resorting to luck. It's kind of saddening that Lc is so overcentralized; but I don't really think it's a problem that will be easy to solve. We're just going to have to get used to it. I mean, we can still have fun playing against the same team over and over again, can't we? :/ |

IMO, Shroomish is out-classed by Foonguss, who has Regenerator now and whose poison typing allows it to pretty effectively wall most Mienfoo sets.

Foongus doesn't have a ground resist though, which is one of the biggest reasons why you would ever use a grass type in LC in the first place. Foongus also has less physical bulk than shroomish.
Magnemite got a real boost in usage, which is not surprising since it hits pretty hard. Mienfoo and friends continue to dominate, which is no surprise. I'm somewhat surprised that Abra dropped, I see it on a lot a teams in general. Last edited by Shouting; Feb 3rd, 2013 at 1:52:55 PM. |

Could have sworn the last time I played that Mienfoo was on at least 40% of teams.

That's because of the new weighting mechanic. Abra's average weight (which is the average weighting of the players using it) is about .718, which is way lower than Pokemon such as Murkrow who is sitting at .864. Put simply, most of the Abra you see are being used by noobs.

| 54 | Omanyte | 2.64803% | 636 | 2.573% | 534 | 2.607%
This is sad. Omanyte is a great hazard setter with access to Stealth Rock, Spikes and Toxic Spikes, the set I usualy run is Stealth Rock, Protect, Scald and Toxic. It's great to catch an unsuspecting Scarfoo off gaurd with Protect as they HJK and then switch to either Missy or a fighting resist. That said Dwebble plays pretty much the same role, only without the fighting weakness, along with better defensive typing overall. Omanyte's still a tonne of fun to use though, please let it see more use. |
