Voice Ladder Challenges

As many of you know, we've been running a Randbats ladder challenge for a while now, where it's possible to earn voice on Pokemon Showdown by doing consistently well on the ladder. That is, if you attain a glicko2 of 1900 with 100 battles or 1800 with 200 battles on the Randbats ladder, you are eligible to ask a & or ~ for voice.

We will now be organizing similar challenges for other tiers alongside Randbats. While the Randbats challenge is ongoing, each of these will run over a three week period. That means you have three weeks to achieve the ladder requirements before we move on to the next challenge. Before each challenge we will look at the ladder and make sure the requirements are appropriate for that tier.

And without further ado I'd like to introduce the first of the challenges: the NU ladder challenge. The requirement for this one will be a glicko2 of 2000 with 100 battles or 1900 with 200 battles so start laddering now! As always, simply pm an & or ~ if you complete the challenge. We do reserve the right to refuse voice if someone is a consistently negative presence, but as long as you're friendly and polite that shouldn't be a problem.

And with the new year it's time for a new voice challenge. Next up is RU, which means we say goodbye to the NU challenge. Good job and congrats to anyone who managed to complete it. After discussing it with the RU leaders, the rating requirement will be a glicko2 of 1950 with 100 battles or 1850 with 200 battles and similar to the last one, you will have 3 weeks to get it done. That means if you reach the rating requirement on the RU ladder before the 23rd of January, you'll be eligible to ask a leader (&) or admin (~) for voice.

As always, the randbats challenge is still ongoing.

Congrats to all of y'all that managed to complete the RU challenge. Next up we have UU and after discussing it with kokoloko, the rating requirement this time around will be a glicko2 of 2050 with 100 battles or 1950 with 200 battles. In case you haven't spotted a pattern yet, you'll have 3 weeks (until the 13th of February) to complete the challenge. As always, if you managed to fulfil the requirements, feel free to ask a Leader (&) or Admin (~) for Voice on name that you used in the challenge.

Up next we have the Ubers Voice Challenge. This means that the UU Challenge is now officially over. The rating requirement will be a glicko2 of 2000 with 100 battles or 1900 with 200 battles and as always, you will have 3 weeks to complete it. That means if you achieve the required rating by the 6th of March, you'll be entitled to ask a Leader (&) or Admin (~) for voice. Good luck and get laddering!

We had a great turn out for the Ubers challenge, good to see. Our next voice challenge will be Little Cup and a rating requirement of 1950 with 100 battles or 1850 with 200 battles. That means if you meet the requirement within the next 3 weeks (by the 28th of March) you'll be entitled to ask a Leader (&) for voice. gl hf.

Congrats to everyone that completed the LC voice challenge, it was nice to see the increase in activity. The point of these 3 week challenges was to increase activity on each individual ladder, one at a time and expose more people to Smogon's official metagames. OU has so many players already that a voice challenge to increase activity doesn't seem necessary. Now that we've covered all of the other official Smogon metagames (NU, RU, UU, Ubers and LC), we will be stopping these 3 week challenges for the foreseeable future.

The Randbats challenge is still ongoing and you can of course still earn voice by being a polite, friendly and helpful presence on the sim.
