What are your favorite soundtracks in all the pokemon games?
Links to the music are appreciated but not required. As an example, here are mine. Favorite City/Town Music: Opelucid City (White/White 2) I had walked through the gate expecting the mediocre (in my opinion) music from black 2, and instead I found myself in an old-fashioned and calm music. Favorite Route Music: Unova Route 19 (BW2)(Autumn) I was excited to finally be playing in-game again, and this just sounded perfect for a first route. Favorite Trainer Music: Cynthia I prefer the music when she is battled in BW2, and I have linked to that, but the 4th gen music is also quite good. Favorite Pokemon Music: Giratina (Platinum) No question about it. As a testament to how epic this music is, I was once soft-resetting for a Shiny Giratina. Even after having to listen to the music over 10000 times, I still found it to be epic when I finally found the shiny. That's about it for me. I look forward to seeing your favorites. P.S. Does anyone have a link to N's music in BW2? I'm not referring to the battle music, but the overworld music when he saves the player, gives the player Reshiram/Zekrom, etc. |

Verdanturf Town from RSE. Generation 3 had the best music in the series.
National Park from GSC. In the middle of the game, suddenly... Are you referring to N's Farewell? |

I have to say that the Colosseum sound track was the best overall in my opinion. Pyrite town, agate town, and the under are some of my favorites.

I'm referring to the music that plays here. This link is part of a walkthrough and someone is talking, but if you turn the sound up you can hear the music in the background. |

Fairly recent thread with the exact same topic.
That being said, Colosseum is awesome. Pokémon Stadium also has many good remixes of RBY music. |

Cobaroll, that thread will be closed soon as has a point to it besides general discussion, so this thread is fine.
But route 214 in diamond, no one has put a video on youtube though :( |

Favorite town music - (RSE)Ever Grande City This song playing when you finally get out of victory road just makes you so happy.
Favorite route music - (DPPt) Route 216 It just has an upbeat, jazzy feel to it which makes the dreadful snowy routes in Sinnoh actually bearable. Favorite trainer music - (RBY) Champion theme This music just represents the twist in the story - Gary is actually the champion, and when I was younger, this theme got my heart beating like mad. Favorite Pokémon music - (E+FRLG) Deoxys battle theme It's just an epic theme in general, and a very fitting theme for an alien Pokémon.

So many good tracks in the series, but I'll try to pick no more than five from each generation that stand out. No links, look 'em up yourself!
Red and Blue: Route 1. Of course. It's where it all started, those first steps out of Pallet Town, and it helps that it's as memorable as the Mario theme. It's possibly not the best song of the whole series, but I think it has to be the most iconic. (Well, after the first anime theme.) Viridian Forest. Great atmospheric early track with a strong beat running through it. Gym Leader Battle. Great fast-paced battle theme that nicely develops even with the limited duration available. Pokemon Mansion. Really unique from the soundtrack and in one of the most remarkable places in the game. I'd love to see a similar abandoned lab in a future game, this time with the subject of the notes making a later plot appearance. Indigo Plateau. This really conveys the monumental occasion, the final grand event of your journey. Comments on obvious tracks that I didn't pick: Lavender Town and Pokemon Tower. The former's attained some memetic notoriety but both are actually musically cliched. Champion Battle. It's an epic song, but I slightly prefer the Gym Leader one which you hear more too. Also GSC's Champion Battle is better than RBY's. Any town themes. Vermillion City nearly made the top five but Indigo Plateau kicked it out. Later gen picks to come - but on the music front I am rather a genwunn(andtwo)er.
