These awards are for the year 2012, and as such the new users being celebrated are those who joined during 2012, not 2013~ I wouldn't worry about it in your case, since I think a nomination of a user who joined after the nominations began for this year's awards might be accepted for the next year's awards~ (Especially since, due to my time zone settings, you actually display as a January 2013 registrant for me!)

I am still sort of in shock I was nominated for best writer and since my only chance lies upon 2012 in a Nutshell

It's a honour just being nominated of course, I have still competition.

If BlueCookies doesn't win best VGC I will have lost all faith in mankind. I also have the opinion that this mafia vote will be the only billyroll user billymills would enjoy (but will I vote for him, who knows).
