To put it bluntly, this is a mafia styled to be different than most other mafias out there, and is multifaction to the extreme. Not 2vs1, not 1 vs2, and don't even mention 1vs1, since this isn't NOC and therefore cannot be associated with it.

A hefty, balding man sits behind his desk, a thousand feet above the surface of the Earth. He is MR SANDSMAN, head of the global monopoly organization, SANDS ACQUISITIONS, INC. He chuckles to himself as he watches the profits of SANDS ACQUISTIONS, INC. skyrocket in every possible field of sales. His company of vast resources and Asian sweatshops has throttled the competition, becoming the lone business of note in virtually all markets.
But all is not well. Out of the swamps, the rainy states, the slug motherships, a brown threat emerges. No, not black zombies. The MUDS REBELS, hunters of the <snip> MUDS, the one series of items that could stop SANDS ACQUISITIONS, INC. from gaining all the <snip> SANDS, have set out to stop MR SANDSMAN and his seemingly infinite quantity of drones.
One question remains: are you pro-SANDS, or pro-MUDS?

That was the question asked before as the MUDS took control of the SANDS ACQUISITIONS by force and were able to force themselves into power. However, new factions seem to be focusing on a broader issue. This isn't just SANDS and MUDS anymore, but other, factions are resenting the rule of the MUDS and SANDS, and have the power to take it for themselves. Who will rise out of this remains to be seen, but no matter what, this shit just got real for everybody.

But what are you? Are you SANDS, MUDS, or something completely different? Only time will tell.

1. While you are alive, feel free to talk about the game. Once you have died, you may not discuss the game with anyone not allied with you. You may not share information you gained after death no matter what.
2. The game will begin on Night 0. There will be no kills on Night 0. During Night 0, no one may paste their Role PM. Role PMs may be freely distributed starting from Day 1. PM Yeti and/or Quagsires for help in faking a role PM. Which you probably should do.
3. Do not take grammatical errors in PMs as proof of faking. We are human and can make mistakes. We have tried to keep all text relatively the same, but there may be discrepancies. If you believe there are, PM us and we will correct them. Do NOT correct them yourself.
4. You may paste things the hosts tell you, but do not anticipate everything we tell you is true. You can paste fake logs; PM Yeti or Quagsires for help faking a log. Screenshots are allowed, but these are no more trustworthy than someone saying something.
5. Each Day period will last 48 hours at the start, then be cut to 24 as people die. There is no shortened time for majority because you have Day Actions. There are no grace periods, because what's going on in the thread is not all that is needed for the day to end.. If all Day Actions are received before Deadline and there is a majority, the Day will end. There is no announcement of what majority is or when its reached. Don't ask.
6. We will allow stealth lynching if you can successfully pull this off. Good luck. You'll need it.
7. During the day you must bold your vote and post flavor <User>. To change your vote, you must edit your original post with your new vote. You may choose to No Lynch during the day as well, and any votes towards a dead user (if he or she has been godkilled) will count as No Lynch. If you wish to vote for nothing at that time but have already voted, unbold your original vote and state something along the lines that it is retracted. Any ties will result in a no lynch.
8. Each Night period will last 48 hours or until all PMs have been received. This will be cut to 24 as people die.
9. Feel free to target dead users with your abilities. We cannot say if anything will come of this, and it is very likely nothing will happen. However, there are exceptions.
10. Priorities have been set beforehand. You don't get to know them until the game ends.
11. There are items in this game. To give your item away, include "Give ITEM to USER" in the body of your PM. Items can be stolen and there is no limit to the number of items that may be held, besides common sense.
12. Upon the death of an individual holding an item, the item will be put into the SANDS ARENA (a junkyard). You may forego your Day Action to send "DX - Retrieve ITEM". Any items with two or more users attempting to retrieve them will not be removed.
13. Inform Yeti and Quagsires of all channels, spreadsheets, etc. you make for this game. Give us access: ask for our emails, our registered IRC nicks are Yeti and Quagsires.
14. IRC will be of great assistance to you in this game and other users may be very annoyed if you don't have it. It's not that hard to gain access to: you never have to pay to use mIRC if you hit Continue twice, Mibbit is free, etc.
15. Send all PMs to Yeti and Quagsires so we can both update. If you are choosing to idle, please PM "NX/DX - Idling" so we know you are active.
16. Be active or get out. You will almost assuredly lose this game if you are not active and anyone who could rely on you will be hampered by your inactivity. We will send a warning PM if you do not send a PM a night/day. After that, we will sub you out. We will NOT postpone deadlines if you do not meet them unless you ask us to give you an extra hour to discuss/coordinate. We WILL ask for subs on anyone who signed up and didn't get in.
17. If a role PM and the rules clash in something, the role PM takes precedence.
18. We are your hosts and we will be writing the Postgame, so please talk to us about your thoughts on the game. While we cannot confirm or deny any suspicions you may have, we would love to hear them. We would also like reasons for your actions if possible.
19. You will be given all factions that you need to defeat for victory, but others may need you dead and you not be told. Thus, your faction winning might make other factions lose.
20. If you post in the thread when silenced or kidnapped, break a posting restriction, get on IRC when frozen, or fail to vote for the person you were persuaded to vote for, you will be godkilled. We will be making it very clear what you can and cannot do (Spiffy), should one of these actions be directed your way, so you will have no excuse for not following the guidelines.
21. The official IRC channel will be #SANDS so please join.
22. If you have a non-information role, you will not receive a result unless it fails. If you think you should have received a result PM but did not, you should contact the host that performed the last update, or the other one if they appear to be free to review your case.
23. We will admit there are 5 factions in this game. Whether or not neutrals exist or whether we're telling the truth here can be directed to http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~ssanty/cgi-bin/eightball.cgi. We do not take responsibility or necessarily agree with the results of the website.
24. You have a Night Action and a Day Action. The only way to kill during the day is a lynch, and Night Actions affect only Night Actions, etc.
25. There is a spoon. This is reality, Neo.

SPECIAL TO THIS GAME:
26. Your factions are divided, with each faction having similar roles in each group. The makeup of each faction's groups is 2-2-1.
27. Some groups of 2 may not have an inspector. In these cases, one person in that group may PM Yeti and Quagsires once per night with the message, "Night x- Is< user> a <Faction name>, where faction name is the name of your faction. This power is relinquished upon the uniting of a faction in rule 28.
28. A faction may become truly united when any groups have ALL of their living members PM Yeti and Quagsires with the subject and message, "Night X- Uniting <User1> <User2> <User3> <User4> <User5> as the <Faction Name>, and they will be united. Once a faction is completely united, they will gain the ability to kill. We will comment to you privately whether this succeeds or fails. Due to how this is set up, you may also unite with fragments of your faction before uniting as a whole. In those cases, you will omit <User5> or <User4> if necessary.
29. A faction which is fully united may send a single member on the correct nights to kill, which will be given to you as soon as a faction is fully united. That one person may vary or stay the same. depending on whether you think they'll be hooked or not.
30. We're encouraging fakeclaiming with these rules. Take advantage of this. and ask us for help, and we will provide what we can, provided we're not writing any PMs or updates
31. You can NEVER send in a teammates' actions unless we talk to them before the night begins and they have a good excuse (ie away from computer)
32. Why not have 32 rules?
33. Because we have 34.
34. If all living members of two united factions during any day or night send in a PM in addition to their actions entitled, NX- Ally with the <Faction>, their win conditions will become mutually exclusive to <faction> unless they already are. In addition, if a faction does this to any other, they may not target that faction with anything except safeguards and bodyguards, and all votes for that faction do not count. However, while a faction will be told if this succeeds, they will not know if the other faction did the same. Ergo, you may set yourself up so that you cannot target a faction but they can target you freely. This may only be done once per game by each faction.
