Is the source ready yet? I have a couple of weeks of 'free' time coming up that I might be able to get something done in.

I too love this guy/girl. PPRNG made me an even better Pokemon breeder than before! :D

Edit: AND 4th Gen Seed Inspector!!! Now no need to switch to Windows Partition to use RNG Reporter (for much). chizu deserves infinite credits in my shop for his dedication!

There will be a link added to the first post in this thread (or something equivalent) when the source is ready, but I'm not sure when that's going to be. If you have specific questions about Gen 5 stuff and you can't find the answers in the research thread or RNG Reporter source, you're welcome to PM me. If there's a particular type of Gen 5 RNG that is missing from PPRNG and/or RNG Reporter, I'm certainly open to suggestions as well.

Since you're asking, I assume the source to your programs is available somewhere?

Heh... I was planning on setting up an account on github or something, but never got around to it. I'll make sure that's up within a week or so. Meanwhile, I could zip up the source and upload it to Dropbox or something if you want it?

Released 1.8.2, mainly for German DSi/3DS support, but also added swarm support since several people have asked about it recently.

Whenever i try to open DS Parameter Searcher, it crashes. Any idea why that would be?

E: actually whenever i try to do anything in it, it crashes.

Can you please open the program Console located in Applications/Utilities, and then open PPRNG and cause it to crash. Then copy any errors that appear in the Console program and paste them here, please.

Also, what OS version and hardware are you running on?

I also get crashes whenever I try to open anything in 1.8.2. Older versions work fine. This is on an Intel iMac running OS X 10.6.

A couple points.

1. When you say it worked with previous versions, does that include 1.8.0?

2. Are you able to open the DS configuration window? If so, what type of DS is set for the active configuration when you open the window?

3. Would it be possible for you to send me your PPRNG preferences file? In Snow Leopard it's located in ~/Library/Preferences (where ~ means your home directory) and called something like com.blarg.pprng. I'm not sure where the preferences files go in Lion, however. Also, I'm not sure that you can attach files to PMs, but if you have a Dropbox account or something similar where you could put it, that would be good.

Sorry, haven't tried it - the most recent version I had on this computer before downloading the latest one was 1.0.5.

Yes, and... it turned out to be unset! Wish I'd thought to check that before. Changing it back to "DS Lite" seemed to fix things.

Great, I'm glad it's working. Had you changed the DS type (or never set it), or did it seem to get unset somehow between 1.0.5 and the newest version?

I've pulled down the plist file, so feel free to edit the link to it out of your previous post if you have any privacy concerns.

I'm pretty sure it unset itself. But I also noticed that the setting for DS and DS Lite was combined at one point and is split up now, so that might have something to do with it? Anyway, thanks for the responses :)

Please provide screenshots, including your configuration (you can blur your MAC address if you like). It is very difficult to know the issue from just the simple description. Also, what OS version are you on?

Dunno how exactly to screen shot the seed searcher, as nothing happens when i hit the button, so there's not really anything to take a screen shot of

for the parameter search, i tried to add a screen shot, but it won't post. pretty much, everything is filled in except the fields marked "custom ranges". and the results section remains blank.

And i'm running os x 10.5.8

Just to be clear, when you say that nothing happens when you hit the Seed Searcher button, you are referring to the button in the window that appears when you start the program, correct?

Please take a screenshot of your DS Config. I need to see what you have set up or I won't be able to help much. To post a screenshot, you need to put it on a hosting site (your own or one of the many free image hosting sites) and embed the link in your forum post.

When trying to 4th gen RNG, what's the best way to find your delay? Pick a seed, hit the date+time, and flip coins until you find a match?

It depends on what you mean. If you are talking about a calibration step to figure out what delay you can hit, this isn't really needed anymore since you should be using a timer program (I recommend ZomgTimer), which will allow you to hit all kinds of delays. If you are talking about checking what delay you actually hit when trying to hit a particular seed using a timer, then coin clips or elm calls should be used.

I am also having the same problem. I am able to find a seed in the parameters, I input all my info and can get passed step 1, but when I click on Standard Seed Searcher nothing happens. It highlights and then un-highlights and thats it. Does this option not work without having a the right Timer0? I watched a Youtube video and from what I understand you have to find the right Timer0 which can take some time. Every other button opens up the window except Standard seed searcher, which I think is the next step in the process so I'm stuck... Please help

Additional Info if needed: DS Lite, 00-23-CC-F1-91-F4
VC = 60
VF = 6

I've only ever gotten 2 (probably 10 attempts idk if i should do more)
C7C (most attempts) C7B (one attempt) also I am unsure which to insert into the "min" and "max" areas.

Timer0 is in hexidecimal, so C7B is one less than C7C. The parameters you give above look pretty standard.

There is an issue in the current PPRNG that causes problems if you don't set your DS type, so please make sure that is set correctly.

Edit:
I believe I know the issue now, and it is specific to 10.5. There will be a new version in the next day or so to fix the problem.

Ok so here's how far I get before I get owned.

1. I open up PPRNG 1.8.2 and click DS / Game config.
2. I enter my Game version: Black (English). And my DS type: DSlite.
3. I insert my mac address: 00-23-CC-F1-91-F4 then I click Ok.
4. From there I click into DS Parameter Searcher
5. I leave the "Use standard Parameter ranges" (Am i supposed to adjust anything here?)
6. I insert today's date: ex. 1/16/2012 (I thought this used to be when my adventure started which I had no idea about)
7. I fill in the hour, minute, and second boxes with my time I plan to press "A" in the game menu. Now I read somewhere that it makes a difference pressing "A" half a second earlier or half a second later after the hand hits your second mark. (Confirm/Deny?)
8. I leave Key 1, 2, and 3 black. (Right/Wrong?)
9. I hop on my game, wait at the game menu until my target time. Press "A" as accurately as I can and let the game load on its own. Until the "Game Freaks" logo passes then I press "A" and Log in my game. (No C-Gear)
10. I talk to Kyurem and throw a master ball. I check his stats and IVs on the Seribii IV calculator.
11. I input the IVs into the parameter searcher and hit search. Lower # into min and Higher # into max. I put the undefined ones in both Min / Max (Right/Wrong?)
12. I hit search and It gives me a seed #, a time, and Timer0: C7C, Vcount: 60, and Vframe: 6. then I close it.
13. I go back to my config to input them and get lost. Min/Max I read that you put the same value if you only got one result so I did. I also got my trainer ID from my game 21770.
14. I try to click Standard Seed Searcher and it just highlights and un-highlights. Every other button works.

I have no idea where to go from here to catch, breed, or get any perfect pokemon. If anyone can help me that would be great. ATM i dont care much for the shinnies, but I would probably like to get them after I get a hang of just getting perfect pokemon (I am especially interested in breeding perfect pokemon, so if anyone has extensive info on the subject that would be greatly appreciated.)
