Turns out that I initially gave the message to the wrong person, which'd probably explain the attitude I got from the announcer for about 3/4 of the tournament :P I got it to the right guy later, though.

GP smoothed things out with the customer relations person that the announcer ended up calling over after I apparently laughed at the kid I faced in the first round. She stated she does have an account here, and has made a post or three, so if you happen to read this, reply or gimme a PM or something. I'm Danny btw, one of the semifinalists. Lost to the runner up(aka the guy that fell on me!)
