Club Boah is just the name of the choice banders "club". Jump just included "Boah" to confuse you. It doesn't mean a CB Tyranitar.

Low blow is Dugtio's Earthquake which Salamence switched on.

The "filling different roles" just means that the DD Salamence isn't forced to use one move like the CB pokemon (or as Jump said, "makes you one-dimensional").

Aaron is obviously Aerodactyl. The name, the grin, the speed and the fact that Aerodactyl always carries Choice Band make that really easy to figure out.

Well the first fast, smiling Pokemon that came to my mind was Gengar... Aerodactyl doesn't seem "happy" imo.

The narrator is Salamence, what with the Hidden Power and Dragon Dance allusions. Doug the Dugtrio has to switch out or 'backtrack' when he shows up with his Intimidating 'game face.' Aaron is Aerodactyl because Salamence is base 100 speed but is 'not nearly as fast.' The narrator can be just as fast as Lackner the Slacking (also base 100). Most of this stuff was pointed out by other users, I'm just posting to show that their information is correct 8)

I actually thought the narrator was Gengar at first because they 'can't handle me normally' but then that's kind of obvious and my suspicion was confirmed by the second-to-last paragraph (so clearly salamence). I was under the understanding that all these guys were in Club Boah and also had the signature choice band. This makes it clear what Aaron is.

I think "Sally" stands for Salamence btw, but I might be wrong.

Sorry Grawl, it's indeed Aero. The whole "always grinning and happy to brag about it" was to indicate that it's Jolly. Maybe if I'd gone with "yeah, he's got the kind of personality that makes him real happy to brag out his speed", but I think that's a bit much.

flavour_trainer, some of the things you said were rather off base, but I commend you for being the only one to get the "Lonely" reference (and for trying to piece together EVERYTHING, of course you're not going to get everything right if you try that). But when you said "At this point in my life I don't think I need to be sent away or told I'm not wanted Roar or whirlwind maybe" I was confused, since you already suspected that I was referring to his Loneliness.

Hipno, where do you get that the narrator is taught Rock Slide? Also to everyone that wondered about Aero filling multiple roles, I know that was
somewhat of a stretch, but it can work with Leftovers as an annoyer with Pressure and Sub, or with White Herb getting Curses BPed to it from Umbreon. They are *options*, though we know the CB versions works best.

I didn't know how else to refer to Earthquake so I went with "low-blow most guys have to be taught". Also, the guys the narrator's talking about that can't handle him ("normally", lol should have watched that Eric but I didn't mean with Normal attacks) are fighting pokemon whose attacks are already NVE but then intimidate is thrown in there, and obviously ground can't touch Sala at all.

Sally is Salamence obv because the narrator, her son, is a Salamence.

It was based on this:

I can still hear my dad talking to me, one their way out: "I'm glad your mother and I had you, Junior. You look a lot like Sally," he said without looking at me directly, "but I know Walter here's taught you a thing or two that'll serve you real well in life." Then he and my mom left without another word. I didn't know what to make of it all then, but I think I'm starting to get an idea now.

So I was thinking Walter was someone other than his Father because he referred to him in third person, and that had he actually been taught the move rather than being bred it. Rockslide fitted perfectly - it was a tutor move, and it was in a team with Magneton. I had thought it was a kind of clever allusion to the previous chapters but, yeah, this had seemed very clumsy to me at first, it was too abrupt a change from describing dragon dance to rockslide. Since that isnt what you meant at all this chapter reads a lot better.. Heh..

Yeah, probably most of that confusion stemmed from me wanting to indirectly give the narrator's dad a name and therefore an identity of a male Altaria with Dragon Dance. I thought for the narrator to say "My dad, Walter" would be a bit forced, rather than for Walter to refer to himself in the third person.
